So brits, I wanna know your opinion on this and how you'll vote tomorrow. If you're going to. What do you think will happen if the UK doesn't choose to stay? IMO, if the immigrant thing is such a big deal, yall should totes build a wall. Also, I would like to say this year has been particularly shitty. Rickman, Bowie, Prince, Donald Trump, shootings, racial tensions, brexit. God damn decent year for music though... for me at least... Edited by Gadshack, 22nd June 2016 - 06:21 PM.

I've been on the Remain side from day one and that's not going to change. According to the Leave side of the argument the UK sends £3.5 million to Brussels- awful amount of money that in the event of a Brexit the UK would get back- but the EU, according to some source, sends the UK in the region of six billion a year- that's a pretty black hole if you ask me. And then there's the immigration thing- this does not stop it all together, there has been a catastrophic failure on the Leave side to distinguish between EU migration and non-EU migration, this isn't about the refugee's and that's the impression that's given by a lot of people who raise the migration issue as a major factor in their decision making process. The fact is this- no one on the Leave side can possibly claim to know what's going to happen if there's a Brexit because it's never happened before. whereas we know what will happen if the vote is to remain because there's over forty years experience worth of it. So what will happen if there's a Brexit, well at an educated guess 1) Second Scottish Independence Referendum, which will result in a 'Yes' vote thus condemning the rest of the UK to a one party state of the Conservatives. 2) Boris Johnson goes favorite to be next Prime Minister- and he's only one up on the food chain from that idiotic American Donald Trump. |

I can't vote but to be honest I see it from both sides. On the one hand I see that the EU is quite undemocratic and too bureaucratic but on the other side I see it's advantages such as access to some of the best economies in the world, more bargaining power in trade deals, A way to stop the wars that Europe has had so many of. Overall, I think the Good outweighs the bad but some people do not believe that. I just wish when these 60 year old (no offence meant) pro-brexit, my family fought in the war and all that stuff people voted they thought about our future because they just seem to be hung on to this idea that the UK is the most important country in the world which is far from the truth and as a part of Europe we're helping other countries whilst bettering our own future.

As a Belgian, I have always been pro EU, mostly because of the peace element. Living in the former battlefield of Europe (second after the Balkan, but still) we care a lot about not being bombed or shot. That's the greatest realisation of the European Project. I understand the EU isn't perfect. It's a human creation. I hope Britain remains, for the British and other European people alike. Isn't here a saying "Unity we stand, divided we fall"? Pressure from outside the EU is already strong, Russia and Turkey are looking to gain advantage of the situation.

Sadly this has gone leave thanks to people using it as a means of expressing dissatisfaction with the government and a lot of misinformation. Frankly why Cameron didn't fail safe this I have no idea. |

Interesting fact there are some sixteen year olds who are quite angry about this. For the reason why- Scotland's independence referendum allowed sixteen and seventeen year olds to vote, not so this time. Explain?

Egh my fathers home country is tearing itself apart, not only has David Cameron decided to quit in October, now Labour MP's have decided to rage quit, and Scotland and Northern Ireland voted overwhelmingly to stay in, and thus putting the Scottish independence back on the table and Northern Ireland wanting their independence back on the table as well. Also the fact that many British companies are considering to leave and move their HQ to other European countries still in the EU as well as the UK having to renegotiate trade deals with USA, Canada and the rest of Europe for trade benefits they were already receiving when they were still members. This vote while good for democracy, the results have been less than desirable. But I live in an EU member country so I guess I have no reason to chime in. |

Not my decision to care, but, the main thing that makes me against the EU in its current form is how undemocratic it is. |

To be honest I'm finding the fallout even more amusing than everything that went before. The good news is that it won't be Boris or as I like to call him 'Trump Junior' (though I feel sorry for all the comedians because there go a lot of hair styling jokes) As I've mentioned earlier the reality is that no one on the Leave side probably thought they'd win, at best Farage was only hoping to win, we now see that the Leave side were completely unprepared for a victory hence why we're getting delays on Article 50 and stuff- fact is the EU is quite likely to sit there and become a 'wall' at the negotiating table because of this very point. The other interesting dynamic is this- the Labour Party is trying to oust (and will likely succeed in doing so) its leader, if they achieve that then I do think that with the support of the Lib Dems, SNP and disaffected Conservatives we could see a motion brought to try and force a general election- an election Labour may win with all the issues that entails. So yeah we're in a clusterfuck of a Constitutional crisis, but the worst thing is that we now stand a realistic chance of seeing the most dangerous woman in Britain becoming the next Prime Minister (which is worrying considering that she's the best choice) On a side note as some people know I'm presently in London for a few days because I'm on the arrangements team for a Conference. Saturday is the biggest day of the whole thing and there's a pro-EU march going through Parliament square the same day, oh the headaches that's causing us because of the venue's location (it's right near Westminster Abbey) Edited by Achkaerin, 30th June 2016 - 11:12 PM.
