[logo WIP] League Council Selects New Three Lord Regents The New Lord Regents(Open) For the first time in history, an entirely new board of Lord Regents have been elected by the League Council to serve a 4 year term in office. This comes after a sweeping general election, in which the Conservador Popular Party took the United Enclave by storm with overwhelming support from the most southern Municipals of the country. The Liberal Democratica Party lost the election by a landslide, after unconfirmed rumors of corruption to buy past elections were released to the public last year. This ushers in a new era of Nova Tarrgona politics, as the Municipal Council and League Council are not at odds with eachother. In reaction to the conservative uprising in the Municipal Legisalture, the League Council pushed forward the selection and inauguration of the Lord Regents, replacing all former in place for a full board of liberals. This quick move was made before the Municipal Council took action to replace seats in the League Council to bring it in line with Conservador Popular Party ideals. The political forecast this next term? Many analyst like Pierro Igaria say we're entering a period of standoff within the legislature and against the Executive. "The Lower House(Municipal Council), is conservative and traditionalist, breaking the cycle of liberal rule over the government. The Upper House(League Council), has fulfilled lifelong terms serving a liberal government. The Municipal Council has the power to replace much of the League Council to reflect the lower house, however the League Council is doing everything they can in stalling that process and placing three, dominant highly liberal men into those positions assures their terms are safeguarded." This hasn't swung well with many voters however, with protest taking place in the capital, Emerita Montrel. Regency Board Condemns Ui Ceinnselaig For Displacing Thousands in Scordisci The Regency Board(see factbook to know what that is, basically the three Lord Regents, the executives of government), has now openly condemned Ui Ceinnselaig in what Lord Regent Octavian Artudo stated as, "Unnecessary aggression against thousands of innocent's." then going on to cite an SNN article. This condemnation has received mixed messages within the country, as the Regency had released a collective statement before in interview on how the affairs of Southern neighbor's do not concern the Enclave League. However, the border Municipalities in the Aldolfo region have been in uproar over the hundreds of displaced people from Scordisci fleeing wherever they can to find stability. Mayor of Artimos, a small border city spoke on the issue saying, "We were never equipped to handle the sudden influx of illegals, in fact that has never happened since the 80s. Many people are protesting simply because it's an inconvenience and the Municipals until now, have been entirely ignored by the Regency." we then asked how refugees from Scordici were making it North. "There are many people here from different backgrounds, most of them however have ancestors from the southern states who came here a long time ago. Many have long distance family here that is the only refuge they can seek." The government has announced League Aid to the local Municipalities to deal with the influx of what the government is now classing as 'Refugees'. The statement against Ui Ceinnselaig itself comes after public demand, mainly the south, upset over the economic impacts to the region in an already sensitive area. Political analyst state: "The government is now backed against a wall, and has to answer to the demands of the people since the war is now directly affecting the country." The Regency Board has claimed that a, "Swift stop to the war should be sought" and that, "There is no excuse for the violence Ui Ceinselaig has expressed against civilians. They have invaded an entire country's sovereignty with dull reason, and we do not support that. Tero Melos Ejected From Regency Board on Leave After Leaked Comments Recording from a few years back were leaked today by anonymous hackers. The off-hand comments were detailing the disturbing and the true nature of Tero Melos, and perhaps the hidden agenda of the Liberal Democratica Party(LDP). In the recording, Tero Melos made several claims that Municipal Direct Democracy is a mistake, continuing to elaborate on his beliefs as to why, demeaning the political environment in the south and deep east of the country.
The League Council, mostly run by the LDP, have announced Tero Melos is under unpaid, investigative leave, under the mandate of the Municipal Collectives. Chairman of the LDP, Julius Castilo, immediately denounced Tero Melos, revoking his membership of the party and stating, "We do not support the rather racist and bigoted rhetoric Tero Melos has spouted, we entirely denounce this." As if the liberal government wasn't under immense pressure from a mostly conservative country, this scandal comes to rock the party and liberal government. The two other Lord Regent's, Zavala Gaius Rodriguez and Octavian Artudo, have no yet commented on the issue, opting for silence to avoid more discrimination against their administration. With this new scandal, the executive seems to be entirely at the mercy of the right wing population, which explains their recent, unorthodox statement's on Ui Ceinselaig and Nova Ardia. The investigation continues, will a conspiracy to overthrow the central government be uncovered? We'll keep you updated. IN OTHER NEWS... - The Deputy of Defense, Benecio Del Monte, announced the legislative approval of a defense budget boost from 3 to 5 percent of the national GDP. - Protest in the south continue, urging stricter border control to halt refugees from Scordisci. The Regency Board has announced they're doing all they can, but Municipal resources continued mismanaged. - Snow comes early in the Ardian Front Range, catching most range cities off guard. Many blame the rising, unstable climate. - The Tarragonan Market gets sudden bump as production output increases with rising automation. - Unemployment continues to rise, many in the south and east illegally cross over to South Hills and even Quinntopia, to find a living. CPP Forces New Government Changing Bill The Conservador Popular Party have put forth a bill that is slated to change the political landscape of Tarragona. While tensions build on the Nova Ardian border, the CPP argues the government needs to be more cohesive with less bureaucracy and more democracy involving the central government. Political analyst say this bill is almost an absolute win for CPP, as the Liberal Demcratica Party is backed against the wall and has consistently lost party credibility in the face of scandal and wide protest across the south and east. The bill proposed to institute an Approval Voting System, which would drastically change the selection of Lord Regent's. The number of allowed Lord Regents would shift from one, two, three and even more according to the bill. "The system is based on idea that the Lord Regent's should be elected by the people themselves, not an old council of bias, out of touch with the people's common ideal. This has lead to abuse by Tero Melos and the LDP in general." the system will work with voters being able to choose multiple candidates they approve of, and will be region based. If one region on Municipalities votes more for one candidate over another, it's likely that one will become a Lord Regent. If there is an overwhelming majority voting for only one, or two Lord Regent's, then there may be only on or two in office. This is oppose to a true Approval Voting System, where there is only one potential candidate. League Council Rejects Nova Tarragonan Attendance in CTO, ASEAN and the WAF  After a week referendum, the Municipal Collective has resoundingly voted to not join the CTO, ASEAN and WAF. The League Council verified all the Municipal votes this evening, The the Speaker of the League Council, Jacob Epana stating, "The People of Nova Tarragona are fiercely independent in thought and nature, we do not feel that we need to bend our sovereignty to align with the agenda of the WAF and the regulations of ASEAN. Therefore Tarragona repeals its observer status of both organizations. We do not do this out of spite, but out of the virtue of our core values. This does not mean Tarragonan's are resistant to the idea of trade and cooperation, but the Council finds a strife to unite Ardia, no matter what organization, to be imperialistic and align with the ideals of Nova Ardia." |

Zavala Gaius Rodriguez Escapes Arrest Attempts ELIA Reports, Zavala Leaks Thousands of Government Document's to FMN The Enclave League Intelligence Agency has reported that Zavala Gaius Rodriguez has resisted all attempts at arrest with the aide of loyal Armed Forces, which led to a small firefight between League Council forces and Zavala's forces outdie the capital. ELIA reports Zavala was overrun upon the order of his arrest after conspiring with Tero Melos and General Victorina Alveraz in a plot to invade Nova Ardia against the League Council's will. The Municipalities were split in their direct vote, but the consensus was that full out war on the border was to be avoided. Tero Melos has reportedly been captured along with Victorina Alveraz after her own army turned her in. However Zavala is on the run from ELIA and to make matters worse for the government, Zavala has reportedly leaked thousands of secret government document's to the Free Mundus Network. NT Today News attempted to contact FMN and they reported no comment. It's told FMN has hold of the information and is preparing to release the document's to the public and the world. The only standing Lord Regent, Octavian Artudo, commented demanding the Free Mundus Network, "Release the document's back into the hand's of the Tarragonan government. These document's are senstive to the security of the state and people, I can assure nothing will be, quote on quote, uncovered from this leak." |

The Armadillo's Dive Into the Quarter Finals After a demoralizing defeat against the East Moreland Honeybadgers at the beginning of the Rugby World Cup, Coach Olvera and his staff promised the defeat would drive his team forward in the following games saying, "The men don't like losing like this, they don't take it lightly. But I'm determined and sure they are, to learn from this and push through the next game. We promise to deliver." it was unexpected considering most Tarragonan's fans went for East Moreland in the first place, with 60% of Tarraconense in a poll rooting for EM in the first game of the season. "Losing to Moreland just comes with the territory." Coach Olvera joked. However, as the Tarragonan team is turning out, becoming more relevant as a competitor on the world stage, more Tarragonan nationals are throwing their support behind the Armadillo's, who recently just had a three game winning streak and made it in the quarter finals giving many die-hard fans hope that, "They can actually do it this year" as with previous world cups, Tarragona was hardly a footnote in competition. Many accredit the teams unexpected success to Olvera himself, a new all-Tarragonan coach that played in the NRL(National Rugby League) and the NGA(National Gridiron Association), well known in the Tarragonan Hall of Fame. The Armadillo's now prepare for their next game against Arstotska, "They're a good team, we won't get cocky. We'll train hard as usual." Olvera stated. |

NTASA Announces the Development of an EM Drive The Nova Tarragonan Aeronautics and Space Administration announced this evening that they have begun their strides in testing an electromagnetic drive on Mundus. NTASA plans that in cooperation the Achkaerinese Space Agency that when finished, the EM drive can be launched into orbit around Mundus to be tested. This announcement is a major breakthrough for the scientific community, possibly meaning it will possible to traverse space without the need for propellant and fuel. The EM drive would be able to generate a significant amount of thrust without exhausting any resources. The Tarragonan EM drive is in development by Doctor Patricia Ferrera, a chemical engineer employed by NTASA to take on the years task. "The project is barely entering testing, but we hope to get it orbit ready soon with the help of Achkaerin's launch capability." Dr. Ferrera comments. The T1-EM uses electromagnetic waves as 'fuel', creating thrust by bouncing microwave photons back and forth inside a cone-shaped closed metal cavity. This causes the 'pointy end' of the EM Drive to accelerate in the opposite direction that the drive is going. "To put it simply, electricity converts into microwaves within the cavity that push against the inside of the device, causing the thruster to accelerate in the opposite direction," The doctor explains. |
