A New Era for Satanica

This morning a new era was began for the Satanican people. The heroic armed forces liberated our nation from the ailing democratic system and reinvented to rebuild our great nation. The future now looks bright, you can finally wake up in the morning and know that in the future your child will be free and happy. The future is upon us and it looks to be a great time for the Satanican people. Our glorious soldiers matched to the palace and in a show of solidarity between all the Ex-President and her great comrade, General Valour Silvester, began the process of making our nation free and proud again.

The New Empress stunned all in her champagne dress as she took the oath and the crown and began the new future. The ISNA can confirm that shortly after the Empress' installation the former legislature ratified the new constitution before dissolving itself and polls by fully independent news outlets put public support for the new government at 64% already, which was higher than Mrs. Fournier's 57% approval rate. The new government is expected to put a focus on the economy, military, education and services to help the disadvantaged with the latter two being projects the Empress hold dearly to her heart.

The dual-faith ceremony was breathtaking showing the unity between the great Satanican people and showing that they will triumph on despite any of the setbacks. It was as if a burden was lifted off of the shoulders of the people as they felt free to be happy and proud to be Satanican again. A new beginning had begun and now they faced the great prospects of the future. We look forward to the great journey ahead and are prepared to see our people be happy once more.

High Council organises Duma elections and Constitutional Referendum

Today the glorious High Council of the Grand Empire of Novo Satanica has announced plans to hold Duma elections and a constitutional referendum in the coming days/weeks. The elections will show the new governments continuing commitment to democracy and peace within the nation. The referendum will also allow for the world to see that the people approve of the new govt and all they are doing.

At a press conference this morning the Grand Secretary, Evelyn Fournier, and State Counsellor, General Valour Silvester, announced the date for the referendum and Duma elections to February 15th 2017.

"To show our commitment to the needs of the people this new Imperial Government wishes to announce referendum and Duma elections on the 15th of February. This election will allow the people to choose their Grand Secretary and to approve the new constitution which shall be set out in the coming days. Until then we encourage people to continue with their daily life and rest assured that democracy is safe under our guidance and that the new Empress has their wishes at heart. Thank you" is what Grand Secretary Fournier said.

Grand Chancellor and State Counsellor sworn in

Today the new Grand Chancellor, Joseph Biden, and new State Coumsellor, Marshal Karl Halkonnen, were sworn in in front of the newly elected Imperial Duma. The two men borh looked very happy and proud as Empress Emmelie swore them in. This marks the beginning of a new government and could see a dramatic policy shift towards being less isolated and more open with the world.

Some Monarchists worry the new Government may try to overturn the new constitution however due to the fact that Mr. Biden and Marshal Halkonnen were both huge supporters of the Republican movement. But the Government ensured them that they fully supported the choice of the people but took care to highlight the fact his party received more votes than the Monarchist movement in the constitutional referendum something which received thunderous applause in the Imperial Duma.

The Government reaffirmed it's intent to get to work straight away something which many are happy about because they want to see Satanica begin it's process of healing and rebuilding. Currently the new Grand Chancellor has an approval rating of 82% from the Satanican public.

Satanican Air Force receives the last of Dragonbreath Aircraft

Today the Satanican Air Force received the last 45 of it's Dragonbreath fighter jets from East Moreland after months of waiting for the delivery. There were cheers from crowds outside of SAF Padonia and SAF Fieura where the two aircraft were received by leading members of the Air Force. The jets have been hailed as the future of the Air Force by many who see it as a new opportunity for Satanica to become a nation of significant influence within it's region.

The High Councilman of Defense, Genral Robert Mattiga, spoke outside of the Government Headquarters in Hevala. "These beautiful fighter jets give us a new chance to dominate the skies of Mundus. They are a new step in the right direction for the Satanican Armed Forces. They also provide Satanica a chance to build on their relationship with East Moreland due to these beauties being made there. With these protecting our skies Satanicans can feel safe and secure in their homeland. I wish to praise everyone involved in the deal and wish the air force the best of luck in flying these beasts. Thank you."

Later on the jets were seen flying in their first test run. Spectators said they looked "beautiful" and "sleek" flying over the skies of Hevala. The new jets also seem popular among air force pilots with many clamouring to sign up for the new squadrons including the planes.

"Time to get back to diplomacy"

Today the Imperial Foreign Affairs Department announced it's wish to get back to diplomacy. They announced their intention to host more world leaders and to visit more world leaders this year. They also announced their intention to take on 500 new staff to help the world get used to the new Satanica.

"This is a big step towards getting Satanica back out on the world stage and doing economic, military, scientific, etc. deals with other nations. The Foreign Affairs Department has realised its failure to get things done and we're now taking steps to stop this and to rebuild the Satanican image around the world after the recent events caused a negative light to be shone on our great nation" said a spokesperson for the Department.

Satanica is expected to start sending out diplomatic invites to other nations soon.

Opinion Polls show strong gains for NatCons

The latest Imperial State News Agency polls suggest that the National Conservative Party is on the rebound with the New Monarchists crumbling. Polls also showed a plurality of Satanicans identify themselves as right leaning.

Commentators have said that in the last election the issue which caused the NatCons to lose so many conservative voters was the fact that they didn't campaign hard enough for the Republican side so this meant that many NatCon voters didn't turn up to the referendum voting so the Republican campaign lost and that many of their voters voted Democratic to have their Republican values heard.

Government announces large defence spending increase

Today the Government announced there would be a large defence spending increase this year with the budget for defence expected to be $73,314,405,658 as of current government GDP estimates. This would be 2.37% of the gross domestic product which is a large increase from the current 1.7%.

The reasoning behind the increase is thought to be Satanica's membership of LISA. The Government is hoping to build up the military to meet the challenges it may face as a member of LISA. Mr. Biden is known for his interventionist foreign policies and some may think this is the route he wishes to take Satanica.

Public support for the increase seems to be high especially amongst older generations. The increase may also lead to an increase in the number of active personnel.

Shakira arrives in Satanica for nationwide tour

Today the Vaguzian pop star Shakira arrived in Satanica for her nationwide tour. The singer is very popular in Satanica and has the 3rd most album sales in Satanican music history, after Taylor Swift and Britney Spears.

Cheering fans waited outside the airport as her plane landed with some singing the lyrics to her songs. She stopped to sign some autographs before heading off to Nariya where her first concert will be held.

She will be holding concerts in Nariya, Hevala and Marnavra.

Imperial Council votes to amend constitution

Today the Imperial Council of Satanica voted to reform the political system, again. Under the new reforms a unicameral parliament would be created. This new body will be called the Grand National Assembly. The new legislative body will have 630 seats and will be elected from constituencies.

The new amendment also reforms the role of Grand Chancellor into Prime Minister and grants said office more executive powers. The new amendments also give more power to the Empress over matters such as domestic and foreign policy. She may now negotiate and sign treaties if on a foreign visit.

The Democratic Party of Satanica and the National Conservative Party both voted in favour of the reforms.

The Imperial Governments Press Secretary will hold a briefing once her Majesty officially dissolves both houses.

Satanicans head to the polls

Today the people of Satanica head to the polls. The expected winner is the Social Democratic Party which has seen a huge growth in support over the last few days.

Yesterday both of the major parties held huge rallies in major cities in Satanica. The Conservative Party, which is expected to also gain seats and have around 35% of the vote, chose to hold it's rally in Marnavra whilst the Social Democrats chose Nariya to host their event.

However, it all depends on what future the people of Satanica choose. Some say that everything is in the balance.
