![]() "Myōga Media Group began as a small newspaper operating out of Myōga, the southeastern province of Himeyama in 1915, being called Myōga Shimbun (茗荷新聞). It was rarely read outside of Noraga (now known as Shidarekawa) until the end of the Himeyan Nationalist Conflict. The siege of Noraga had spared the small press office where the Myōga Shimbun was being published, and soon after the conflict ended, the small newspaper was being read all over Himeyama, informing the people that the war had ended. Myōga Shimbun since exploded into a media empire, proudly independent and unbiased in its quest to provide Himeyama and the rest of Mundus with the information it deserves." -Excerpt from the Myōga Media Group webpage. ![]() Premier Nakazato to Establish Ties with the Republics of Ardia ![]() Himeyama has reached out to fellow republics in Ardia in hopes of bringing them closer together. The Honorable Premier Asuka Nakazato had expressed the desire to "...seek cooperative relationships with the nations of Ardia and Alba Karinya, especially the few and far between Republic states." in a press conference earlier this week. She has since taken action and has reached out to the Grand Republic of Bykrestan to the southeast and the Republic of Kaedwen directly to the south, the latter of which has previously been on good terms with the Syndicated Confederacy. Talks with Bykrestani officials are presently underway in Kayano, as the Premier herself and Chair of Internal Affairs Taro Mogami lead talks with Supreme Chancellor Constantine, accompanied by First Minister Halsten Huskarl and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Desiderio von Scherbach. As well, Chair of Justice Shiina Musashi is currently in Belmont, Republic of Kaedwen to reaffirm past friendships between the Republic and the Syndicated Confederacy with Kaedweni Premier Lindsay Stewart, along with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Koos Biermann. Updates on these talks will be provided as they become available. |

![]() S-9kai "Miko-B" Now in Development Phase S-5 "Nekomata" to be Phased Out ![]() Pictured: A pair of S-5 Nekomata fighters, flown by 32nd Air Superiority Squadron "Yuki-Onna" Earlier this morning, representatives from the Himeyan Airborne Defense Service announced their plans to upgrade their existing fleet of S-9 Miko fighters. Air Marshall Akiko Oda has stated to the press that the HADS is officially looking to upgrade the existing S-9 Miko fighters in Himeyan service in lieu of purchasing foreign aircraft. The S-9 Miko has been in mainstream service with both branches of the Himeyan Defense Service for decades, and while more advanced aircraft see limited service in both, the S-9 remains to be the workhorse of Himeyan air power; and finally after years of considering their options, the HADS --with approval from Chair of Defense Kyoichi Saneda -- are to begin cooperating with major Himeyan aerospace companies to upgrade the bulk of these fighters. Akiko Oda has stated that the HADS is "... expected to have working S-9kai 'Miko-B" models complete by 2020." In the meantime, the HADS has also expressed interest in selling their aging S-5 "Nekomata" fighters to foreign allies. Oda has stated that while the fleet of S-5s is still very much operable and in good condition, these planes are becoming too much of a burden to maintain as though they are in active service. The HADS has listed the Republic of Kaedwen and the Grand Republic of Bykrestan as possible buyers, though other nations are being considered. Edited by tama, 4th June 2017 - 12:44 AM.

![]() Ikei-Sagara Academy Grand Opening! ![]() A picture taken of Ikei-Sagara in May, as it neared completion. Students and Government Officials from across Mundus are in Rokkō today as Ikei-Sagara opens its doors. After 6 years under construction, the Himeyan Ikei-Sagara Academy has opened in time for September of 2017. This university is expected to be one of the most advanced in Mundus and will without a doubt become home to some of the brightest young men and women in the world. Many key political figures from far and wide have been reported as attending the grand opening ceremony, as well as about 150 or so hand-picked students who were invited not only to attend the ceremony, but also be among the first students to be enrolled in Ikei-Sagara. Speeches are to be delivered by Premier Asuka Nakazato, King David Ironside III of East Moreland, King Graham of Greater Foxtrove, and the first student to ever be enrolled in Ikei-Sagara, 19 year old Shizuka Matsubushi from Myodai. Many of the students invited to attend come from Foxtrove, Arda Tuluva and East Moreland, along with young adults from all over Himeyama. Spirits seem high as Premier Nakazato prepares to deliver the first speech of the night. More details on this spectacular event will be provided as they become available. |

![]() Himeyama Opposes Sanctions on Kaitaine ![]() In a press conference this morning, Premier Nakazato discussed the sanctioned placed on Kaitaine and its impact on neighboring Tokulel, as well as possible actions it could take. The Himeyan government has stepped into an international controversy. As a result of Rokkenjima and Dartfordia announcing sanctions against the small nation on eastern Cotf Aranye, the Himeyan government has stepped up to express outward disapproval of the move. In what the Premier has called an "... impulsive and stupid move...", the Rokkenjiman government declared trade sanctions which aim to cripple Kaitaine's economy, sanctions which are expected to be enforced by an Imperial Rokkenjiman Navy blockade. Somewhat infuriated, she added that this "reckless" action would also severely harm Tokulel, which is an important trade partner for Himeyama and also reliant on Kaitainite ports for imports and exports. It has also been made clear that Himeyama is not the only nation that vehemently opposes Rokkenjima's hamfisted response to what it calls a genocide in Kaitaine. The Holy Empire of Achkaerin, Kingdom of Ui Ceinnselaig and of course, Tokulel itself are also standing up to Rokkenjima in response to these "unlawful" sanctions. |

![]() DISASTER WARNING IN EFFECT East Moreland researchers have confirmed an ice shelf is to break off from Hrothgar. Himeyan officials are warning residents of Suiseikawa and Tsuyariko to prepare for an evacuation following reports of an ice shelf breaking. While it is unknown how profound the impact will be on Himeyama, residents in Suiseikawa and northern Tsuyariko are urged to be prepared for possible tsunamis hitting the coast of the province, additionally Syukō and Myōga are expected to be affected by rising water levels along the Muratsukei river. The Himeyan government is preparing evacuation procedures along the northern coast of the country, as well as areas that sit alongside Muratsukei. |

![]() Flood and Tsunami Warnings in Full Effect, Evacuation Procedures Underway ![]() An armoured transport vehicle from the Himeyan Naval Defense Service arrives at an evacuation shelter Himeyan Defense Service personnel are in the process of evacuating civilians from the coast and along the Muratsukei River With the imminent threat of floods as well as possible tsunamis, large-scale evacuation procedures are underway throughout Himeyama. The Hrothgar ice shelf is expected to cause a two meter rise in water levels that will affect all of Himeyama's coastal regions, researchers also believe that Tsuyariko province is in danger of being hit by tsunamis. With a large portion of HDS forces assisting in evacuation, many engineering units are staying in particularly vulnerable areas, helping to safeguard homes and buildings from severe damage, and will continue to be stationed nearby for possible repair operations. In any case, Premier Nakazato has advised against civilians staying behind to assist HDS troops, citing immediate danger that may put their lives at risk. Edited by tama, 10th July 2017 - 05:00 PM.

![]() Some Residents to Return Home ![]() Himeyan Naval Defence Service marines gear up at Ishigara-Tsutsumi Base, Myodai. For the next month, they are expected to continue surveying coastal settlements for damage. Residents of certain coastal and riverside towns in Himeyama will be permitted to return home this week. The Himeyan government has been very cautious about allowing evacuees to leave their temporary inland shelters and returning to everyday life, though this week, the Himeyan government has released a list of settlements along the coast. Among these are the small cities of Mutsukumi, Sanbaizu and Seitsuwara in Suiseikawa province; generally it has been reported that Suiseikawa suffered the least amount of damage due to flooding, while many of Syukō's riverside settlements suffered severe damage due to large amounts of debris being washed out. Chair of Internal Affairs Taro Mogami has stated that "...reconstruction efforts in Syukō could go on for months, and we are preparing to relocate long-term displaced residents to a more substantial temporary residence." Spirits are still high among evacuees however, as The Kingdom of the Confederate States of Orania has generously provided evacuee camps with medical supplies, extra food and entertainment. A gesture that has had many Himeyans taking to social media to express their gratitude to President Francis J. Underwood and the people of Orania. In the meantime, Premier Nakazato has strongly discouraged evacuees from returning to their residences before being given the green light, citing that "... there are many hazards involving structural damage and debris in affected areas, hazards that are best left to our military to search for and clear out." The continually updated list of safe towns and cities to return to can be found at https://himeyama.gov/special Nakanishi Finishes 2nd in Lodjan Coastal Grand Prix, Congratulates Enric Tomàs on Victory ![]() The returning veteran Formula Mundus driver attended a media conference shortly after the race. Following a narrow 2nd place finish, the Himeyan racer congratulated Bykrestani driver Enric Tomàs, and thanked him for a "fantastic, memorable race". During the Lodjan Coastal Grand Prix, Takeshi Nakanishi and Enric Tomàs found themselves in a tight battle for first place during the last 10 laps. With the two neck-and-neck at the final lap of the race, the Magpie Racing driver proved to be an exceptional opponent for Nakanishi, whose aggressive cornering style had little effect of the Bykrestani as they drove side-by-side to the finish line. Tomàs managed to stay ahead of Nakanishi the entire time, though only by less than a second. When asked, Nakanishi stated that "... Tomàs was an exceptional racer throughout. Definitely someone I could see myself having a friendly rivalry with!" While the duel between Nakanishi and Tomàs definitely got both teams hyped up, Chiyoko Motorsport Division wasn't done cheering when Nakanishi crossed the finish line. Instead their focus immediately switched to the team's other driver, Ryo Yokazura. While Yokazura only finished in 15th place, her team couldn't be more excited when she pulled off to the side after finishing. In a streak of bad luck, the young racer from Aofumiya experienced a crash and two engine failures in the last 3 races, though her eager attitude still stands. Yokazura stated "I'm very glad the worst of the season is behind me, I'm ready to win now!" We will see Nakanishi, Yokazura and Tomàs again on Saturday, as they take on the Royali GP of Vaguzia. |

![]() Nakanishi and Yokazura give tribute to Harrison ![]() Himeyan Formula Mundus drivers Takeshi Nakanishi (left) and Ryo Yokazura (right) during a media conference following the Alexopolis Grand Prix earlier this season. Following a freak accident involving Riverie Corporation Racing driver Megan Harrison, Chiyoko Motorsports Division has made a special announcement. A dark shadow hanged over Sisko yesterday as Achkaerinese driver Megan Harrison suffered injuries as a result of a freak accident during the qualifying lap. Immediately following the qualifying, the duo of Chiyoko racers reached out for a public comment. There, they announced their plan to continue the Formula Mundus season wearing blank white racing helmets. When questioned with the motive of this gesture, Nakanishi responded by saying "It's a subtle mark of respect for Ms. Harrison, whom [Yokazura] and I have looked up to for her skill and sportsmanship. Regardless of whether Harrison recovers in time for the remainder of the season, both of us will be wearing these white helmets right up until the Silverhills Grand Prix-- and the 2017 Formula Mundus season draws to a close. And in case Ms. Harrison happens to be listening, all of Chiyoko Motorsports Division wishes you to make a speedy recovery." |

![]() Government Unveils Plan for New City ![]() An artist's conception of Sentsuaizu, expected to begin construction this December in southern Myōga. Chair of Internal Affairs Taro Mogami and Chair of Trade Jin Katsura made an unexpected announcement this morning. In a rather quiet press conference this morning, Chairs Mogami and Katsura had made a startling announcement just before it was expected to wrap up. Both Chair members could be seen smiling ear to ear as they told the press about their plans to found a brand new city in Himeyama. Mr. Katsura delved into the details regarding everything they know and have planned so far. "Sentsuaizu, as we've been calling it for the time being, is planned to be built on the southern coast of Myōga province, close to the border with Tezcala. You see, many of Himeyama's great cities are quite new, as we've tried to rally our populations into more centralized locations; and the goal of Sentsuaizu is hardly different. Southern Myōga remains to be one of the most rural parts of Himeyama, and for far too long has the Himeyan government failed to provide its people in that region with adequate healthcare and education. Ultimately, it is our hope that the construction of, and relocation to Sentsuaizu will remedy these issues in the same way Myodai had accomplished in the 1980s." Mogami further added. "With the Mhorish-Illumic Cooperative Agreement expected to see a revival soon, we believe this will not only be an opportunity for the citizens of rural Myōga to find a better quality of life, but for a truly international city to be created within our nation. Projects such as Ikei-Sagara show not only the ingenuity that the Himeyan people are blessed with, but also our changing attitude towards internationalism, and in my 55 years of living, I couldn't be more excited to see us embracing the rest of Mundus. And now, Sentsuaizu is our next great move to embrace Mundus and all its people." The two Chair members stated that they have already begun contacting architects, engineers and designers across Ardia, Cotf Aranye and Alba Karinya; enlisting their help to create "...innovative new buildings that will hopefully soon become a part of a future Himeyan city." |

![]() Foxtrovian Embassy Under Investigation ![]() The grounds of the Foxtrovian embassy, near Aofumiya. The Foxtrovian embassy in Suiseikawa province is under investigation by Himeyan authorities. The quiet, resort-like grounds of the Foxtrovian embassy became the scene of something unusual and rather shocking this afternoon as vehicles bearing Himeyan law enforcement marks pulled up to the embassy and locked it down. Regular police units, as well as UTCT-A operatives can be seen patrolling the grounds of the embassy. Government officials have declined to comment on the nature of the lockdown, though one official had said that "No lives are in danger in the Foxtrovian embassy, the nature of police and SWAT presence has nothing to do with terrorism or any other domestic threat." Still, only police officers have been seen entering and leaving the premises since they arrived earlier today. Myōga Media Group will release further details as they become available. "75 percent" of Himeyan Evacuees Eermitted to Return Home. ![]() Himeyan Naval Defense Service marines pose with their Light Recon Vehicle before a surveying mission in Suiseikawa. The Himeyan government says some 2.25 million residents are allowed to return home now. With water levels in Himeyama returning to normal following the Morris Ice Shelf breaking off from Hrothgar, the Himeyan government has stated that "Three out of every four Himeyans who were preemptively evacuated from their homes and towns as a precaution for the Hrothgar ice shelf are now permitted to return to their homes, as the Himeyan Defense Service personnel who surveyed their areas have either restored them to a safe condition, or ruled them as suffering negligible damage to begin with. We cannot put a precise time frame on how long it will take for everyone to be able to go home, unfortunately, but our Defense Service is cutting no corners to ensure it happens soon." The hourly-updated whitelist of settlements ruled "Safe" for residents to return to can be found at https://himeyama.gov/special |
