![]() President meets with business leaders in Alexandra ![]() Today President Alvarez met with many top business leaders in Alexandra to discuss the governments next steps forward to help boost economic growth in Sargonia. The President has been keen to help Sargonia's growth since he took office in the worst recession the nation has ever faced. Many spokespersons from the business leaders at the meeting said they were happy with the progress made and looked forward to co-operating with the government in the future. For the last 2 years the nation has had stable economic growth, hovering around 3%, and a 2.8% decrease in unemployment which has helped attract many companies as they see Sargonia as a bastion of economic stability. There are also expected to be tax cuts coming out of the meetings as this was something many companies highlighted as a priority in the meetings. If they got their way then all Sargonians could be facing the prospect of lower taxes which would mean they have more money to spend on themselves. The idea of this has been shown to be rather popular amongst the electorate, especially older generations. Edited by SatanLord, 3rd June 2017 - 10:45 AM.

![]() Govt. announces $25 billion apprenticeship fund for young people ![]() Today the Government announced a $25 billion apprenticeship fund to encourage companies to create more apprenticeships and help train young people. This is part of the governments aims to ensure a steady flow of educated workers to take over jobs in manufacturing, construction and engineering as older Sargonians retire. The plan was one of the Presidents promises if he got elected and it managed to gain him 55% of the youth vote in the second round. The President announced the funding at a high school in southern Sargonia. "I want any Sargonian child to be able to get the best opportunity in the life ahead of them and for them to be able to earn a good wage so that they can buy their own home and settle down and have their own children. But we can only do this if we invest in their future as a government and that is why this government is going to commit $25 billion to creating more apprenticeships all across the nation. Apprenticeship opens the door to so much such as a company potentially sponsoring you to go to university. If we can give every Sargonian teenager this chance then I know that we can thrive as a nation" is what the President said. The programs may also be increased if more funds are needed the Presidents office said in a statement soon after he went off to the next high school. As Sargonian students prepare to take the next step forward in their life this funding could prove vital to their success. |
