![]() Somerset Works With East Moreland, Ui Censselaig On Referendums ![]() Governor Evanthe has been hard at work with international partners to ensure an independent future for Somerset. Governor Evanthe confirmed that the Somerset Civil Administration had reached an agreement with East Moreland and Ui Cennselaig for the certification of the Somerset Referendum of 2017. The Referendum, which sets forth the course the Autonomous Region is to take, covers three key areas: a reaffirmation of the Governor's leadership of Somerset, Somerset's future as an Autonomous Region or independent state, and the future of QAMB. The questions proposed to those citizens legally participating in the Referendum were as follows:
While the polls have closed the Civil Administration awaits the certified results from independent observers from the Ui Cennselaig-supervised referendum, which East Moreland contributed to. These steps were deemed necessary by the Civil Administration to ensure questions as to the validity of the Referendum by powers such as KaiserAdolf were avoided. Exit polls point to expected strong support for the Governor, while matters such as sovereignty and the future status of QAMB have proven more difficult to predict. The Civil Administration said in a statement that it "appreciates the service which our partners have provided as Somerset asserts its independent character and identity on the international stage." Governor Evanthe also announced that the Civil Administration was preparing "for all eventualities" regarding the political future of Somerset. "I have worked many long hours with the Civil Administration, putting into place the foundations of an independent Somerset should the People vote for such. While these details will remain within the Civil Administration until the results are announced I am proud of the work we have done towards one potential future for our land and People, one which honours our past while looking to the future." The Tribune is expecting the results to be released by press time for our next edition. |
