Tim was making his usual morning skate through the headquarters car park. When all the sudden a diplomatic car took him by surprise, he attempts to jump out of the way however his attempt was in vein and he slammed to the floor. Picking himself up he noticed that his beloved skateboard had gone under the wheels of the vehicle snapping it in two. The driver of the car got out Tim recognised him instantly he was a member of the dartfordian delegation here. The man gave Tim an apology and ensure that he was alright, of course Tim did his best to look sympathetic but deep down he was boiling away full stop he made his way into his office reached into the drawer and took out the draft resolution he been working on. With a pen be added to more articles and then made his way to the assembly room. As he walked a voice came from behind him. Tim turn to look the saw two figures stood there. The first an old wise man dressed in white robes spoke to him. " are you sure this is what you need to do Tim?" Helus asked him " of course it is" Tim replied. Striding ever further towards the Moment of Truth " we could just left his tyres down." Jekar suggested with a mysterious grin. "No." Tim said sternly. " several years ago they took from me what was rightfully mine. Matters such as this cannot be forgotten. Somewhere in Dartfordia someone has her and I can't sleep anymore knowing that they'll be the one using her." With that Tim shook hands with both his friends turned and made his way into the assembly chamber. There he sat down in his usual chair and placed on the screen for all to see his latest resolution.

![]() Cheryl Holmes, Achkaerin Lead General Assembly Delegate What the frakking hell is he doing? Cheryl thought as she read the resolution, and that was just her reaction to the title of the resolution 'the Carpenter Resolution' the name carried many connotations and not all of them positive. Then she turned her eyes to the content of the resolution and balked It's Uppsala all over again she thought she nudged Lisa Saunders her colleague "Get the Richmonds." Cheryl said "Ok." Lisa said After Lisa got up and left the chamber Cheryl stood "Once again we have before us a resolution that has a sure footed theory but poor implementation. We have sections of this resolution that are reasonable and that are agreeable and then we have sections of it that are to put it bluntly absurd but we'll take these in blocks. First in regards to the Borland Separatists this is agreeable to Achkaerin, and should be agreeable to every nation represented here, the Borland Separatists are a recognized terrorist organisation responsible, for among other things murder and kidnapping, so I doubt any nation represented here would object to articles three and four. In terms of Kaitaine the resolution has problems, yes the reports of Kaitaine missile tests are concerning especially when the maths is done, if they maximized their range then the missiles fired during the first test would have the potential to strike most of if not all of Alba Karinya. But let's not lose sight of the implication that article one makes 'aimed at destabilizing the region' now perhaps the Secretary General knows something I do not but I don't think he does. I think we have to address the situation in Kaitaine for what it is, we quite simply is a situation we do not have any detailed understanding of - on the one hand we have a resistance publication stating that there's a genocide going on, on the other hand we have the government of Kaitaine stating that there's a terrorist insurgency featuring Uppsala Convention breaches going on. So we have media from two opposing sides that are in conflict giving different versions of the story this fact alone." Cheryl said tapping her finger against her copy of the draft resolution "Should ring the caution bell loud and clear with every nation here because it is in each of their interests to make the other side look like the monster, to look like the bad guy. We are not yet in a position to make such a condemnation as this or such a demand as this because we do not know the intent or circumstances, but we owe it to ourselves not to act rashly, I am in favor of a separate debate concerning Kaitaine, one where we could hopefully ascertain the truth of the situation but until we know the facts on the ground we are in no position to make the judgement that this resolution implies we make and we are certainly in no position to take the word of We Are the Resistance over the Pravda because the truth is that we have at present no reason to believe one over the other, and on that basis until we have independent verification of the situation on the ground in Kaitaine we have to not only be mindful of the actions of the Kaitaine Government but also the actions of the Truthsayers." Cheryl paused for a moment to sip some water, in truth she was waiting for Lisa to bring the Richmonds so she could talk to them. "So to summarize where we are so far articles three and four are a simple reaffirmation of standing policy for the majority of nations represented here, if the Assembly wishes to put those to vote then that is fine. Articles one and two should however be withdrawn and proposed within the context of a debate specifically about Kaitaine. But then we come to articles five and six. Which if we're honest ring major alarm bells, not because Dartfordia is being accused of anything, no my concern is for the Secretary General at this point. In this resolution which starts of by addressing legitimate concerns we now come to what can only be described as the rants of a man who for want of a better word appears to be having some sort of crisis. And this isn't something that should even be surprising this is a level of ridiculousness and it follows a reckless resolution proposed by the Secretary General that would have seen this organisation move its headquarters to a danger zone. Added to which he then holds a barbecue at the CTO, now contrary to what the Heyran observer sat up there at the back of the room might think" Cheryl continued with a slightly playful smile "The barbecue itself is not my point, my point is that the barbecue was held to celebrate the achievements of Mr Carpenters daughter, now there's nothing wrong with that except that the daughter in question is in fact dead." Now Cheryl paused for the final time, she'd been preparing for this for a few days, ever since the Uppsala resolution there had been worries within the Palace of Nations about Carpenter "I remind the General Assembly of the provisions of Article sixty two of the Commonwealth Treaty"
Cheryl now focused on Tim, this wasn't going to be pleasant but it was likely necessary. "It is my belief that the course of conduct of the Secretary General in proposing reckless endangerment of this organisation in the Uppsala resolution, now being trivial with Dartfordia over something from years ago that is easily dealt with elsewhere and also apparently forgetting that his own daughter is dead renders his judgement impaired, renders his ability to lead this organisation as non credible and raises profound concerns for his mental health and well being. I therefore move for a vote of no confidence in the Secretary General under article sixty two of the Commonwealth Treaty and should such a vote pass I also move that it be effective immediately and that Mr Andrew Richmond be appointed acting Secretary General until fresh elections for the position can be held." She sat down and let out a deep breath. [1] marked should it be needed |

The Dartfordian delegate sat, watching the events unfold, his face one of sympathy. He could see what the loss of Carpenter's daughter had done to him, and it was devastating. He listened to the Cheryl's speech, shuddering slightly at the bluntness of the motion. Once Cheryl had finished, he stood. "It is with regret I can confirm my support for the motion brought forward by the honourable Achkaerinese delegate. Mr Carpenter, I personally wish you all the best and thank you for your service and commitment to this organisation."

"There trying to take your position Tim" Frossaj, the wise judge of the Gods whispered into Tim's ear as the Achkaerin and Dartfordian delegates spoke. "Listen to the lies they are telling, you can't let them get away with this." Tim calmly stood as he turned and nodded to Frossaj, "Don't worry" he winked at the God who now took his own seat. "To my knowledge we have twelve members of the General Assembly[1], that would mean six of you would need to buy into this garbage." Tim chuckled. "Normally you can rely on the good sense of the Achkaerin delegates to get their basic facts right, but to stand her and say my daughter is dead. You all meet her last night, or at least those who came to my BBQ did. Now unlike many of you I'm not some bureaucrat and I'm willing to accept these resolution may not be crafted to your own high expectations, but me and my advisers" he gestured to the empty space behind him where he had earlier that day placed eight seats, one for each God. "If your not happy with the resolution then suggest edits, lets get this thing sorted." Tim shrugged and sat down. [1] If I've read the membership list right |

"I'm afraid Mr Carpenter we did not." the voice of Andrew Richmond boomed from the back of the room, he'd been observing the debate via live stream in his office but had now made the short walk down to the chamber "If the Assembly will indulge me for a moment. I was in attendance at that barbecue and I did not meet your daughter, nor did my wife, nor did my daughter and nor did any attending representative including people in this room at this moment. I am forced to agree therefore with the motion put forward by Ms Holmes there is no question that your ability to do this job is now significantly impaired, due to dangerous course of conduct." "A course of conduct that is now evidenced for everyone to see" Cheryl said "Eight chairs that the Secretary General are filled by his adviser's. Well I see eight empty chairs. I also see the Secretary General's sense of maths has slipped for the moment as has his awareness of the organisation he leads the CTO comprises fifteen voting members[1] and a two thirds majority requires ten votes in favor of removing the Secretary assuming all voting members actually exercise that right. But since you insist on the resolution let's kill two birds with one stone, the resolution before us should be amended to the following" she sent it up onto the Assembly screens.
"That is what is acceptable in terms of Kaitaine and the Borlanders, we give reaffirmation that the Borland Separatists are a terrorist organisation and we identify the steps we will as an organisation put in place. In terms of Kaitaine recent developments around that issue do call for a discussion and it's far better to have that discussion in a debate here rather than in the international press. Obviously the points in relation to Dartfordia are nonsensical and must be struck from the resolution without question. So having dealt with that we return to the matter of the Secretary General I have moved for a vote of no confidence under article sixty two of the Commonwealth Treaty and I have a seconder in the Dartfordian representative. I therefore beg to move that that vote be put now before we do anything further in this debate." [1] based on members presently on the map subtracting those due for removal on Monday, and subtracting Heyra as a non voting observer [2] for the purposes of this article this shall allow all CTO bodies and members regardless of status to be in attendance because if we were hold it under 22.5 then Heyra would be excluded. OOC- Can I recommend before things get complicated (in that we have two different things in play here) that we sort out what's going to happen where, I would suggest that with Dartfordia having seconded Cheryl's motion of a vote of no confidence that that vote be put - probably in a separate thread to this one to avoid confusion as to what is happening?

Melissa Lusk was sat at her desk inside the Refugee Council's office when the e-mailcame from Jacob Longe in the Assembly chamber, they'd made plans for Marcus Merriman to come and help them with Tim but he was about two hours away. They'd hoped to keep Tim out of the chamber until then but he'd slipped them both and now they faced this crisis. She looked down at her watch, there was probably no way of avoiding this. She sighed, picked up some papers and headed towards the chamber. Jacob had filled her in on what was happened and as she walked through the corridors there was a sense of purpose and sadness. She quietly entered the chamber and could sense the strange atmosphere, she saw Jacob hold up crossed fingers wishing her luck, Melissa then approached where Tim's seat was as Jacob quietly left. "Mr.Secretary General" she whispered quietly in Morelandish, but not quietly enough for the microphone to not pick it up and relay it as a feint output in the headphones of the delegates, any able to speak Morelandish would hear. "I've a message from your daughter, she needs to speak to you urgently, she's in your office" "See" Tim said standing up, "I told you, Melissa knows my daughter, I have half a mind to bring her here" he taunted the others before turning to the seats behind him. "Helus, you know what I'm thinking please help Melissa get this mess sorted." With that he unplugged himself and headed off stopping at the door for a moment, "Marissa you coming or not" he shook his head and then disappeared out the hall. Melissa waited until the doors closed behind him and then pushed his chair to oneside before dragging one of the eight to the microphone. "I'm sure you all appreciate this is a very unusual event" she began sitting down, "I know I have no power or authority in this chamber but I'd ask that you indulge me for a moment or two." She sat down and looked down at few hastily scribbled notes. "Many of you will know the Secretary General well.....some of you will know his story, a political activist thrown into the lime light during our nations Regency Crisis, a near death experience making him a national hero. He was the first person to sit in that seat" she pointed back to the chair she'd moved aside refusing to take the seat of the organisations highest official. "He has served in the capacity that I hold now as Chair of the Refugee Council. He's always worked tirelessly for the good of this body, but he's a man who has always put himself after the needs of others, he's been through a lot and never asked for anything in return. So I'm going to ask for him" she looked at her watch. "Give me four hours to convince him to resign, do not make Tim Carpenter forever carry the epitaph of being the first Secretary General to receive a vote of no confidence" Tim was a man she had grown up admiring and the thought of the no confidence vote being passed broke her heart, tears were rolling down her face. "I therefore ask the General Assembly to postpone the vote for four hours." |

Andrew made his way down to the front of the chamber, as the Secreteriat's liaison to the General Assembly when he attended sessions he sat down there, his job also afforded him time to talk with and coordinate with Doctor Byrne, Melissa Lusk and Amber Duff in the subsidiary organisations and as a result he had developed a great respect for the three of them. "I believe as the proposer of the vote of no confidence Ms Holmes this is your call." Andrew said as he took his seat and moved it next to where Melissa sat "No one here is denying that the Secretary General is in an untenable position, he has to go everyone agrees on that so far. But I do agree with Ms Lusk, Tim Carpenter deserves the opportunity to shape his own legacy. Look at the good things he's done with young people, look at the things he's done here in this organisation and elsewhere, the lives he has saved. He can be remembered as a great man, don't taint that legacy unless you absolutely have to, give Ms Lusk the chance to have him save face. If Mr Carpenter proves stubborn then vote him out." Andrew finished and looked up the tiers to where Cheryl and the other Achkaerinese delegates sat. Cheryl stood. "As proposer I will agree to postpone any putting of the vote for four hours." Cheryl said Andrew nodded his appreciation and turned in his chair to Melissa "Good luck and don't hesitate to call if you need help." he said Edited by Achkaerin, 1st July 2017 - 10:43 PM.

OOC- Seeing as no one is interested I'll move this on Tim had wandered off back towards his office as Melissa sat down, she rested her head in her hands for a moment, somehow she had just taken caretaker control of the General Assembly of one of Mundus biggest organisations if even for a moment, she felt sick. She just hoped the rest of the plan was playing out. Sir Jacob Longe had excused himself and headed off after Tim. As Tim reached his office he was surprised to find not his daughter but Dr.Marcus Merriman, "Tim, hope you don't mind me using your office" he stood and walked over to his young former assistant. He offered a handshake and as an inanenly smiling Tim reached for it Marcus turned it into a hug. "Oh what the hell are you doing boy" Marcus began to feel tears running down his face. "What's wrong" Tim asked as he stepped back, he was still smiling, it was a smile that was too big and broad to be real. "Anyway, have you seen Jessica, Melissa Lusk said she was here." he looked around expectantly. "Don't tell me....you've accepted her into your Uni" Tim clapped his hands excitedly, "She was always brighter than me, she'll amaze you Marcus" he sat on the edge of his desk. "It's all Helus' doing, tell him" Tim looked to the empty space near the door where in his mind the God stood. "I've been tutoring Jessica" Helus said proudly, Marcus simply saw Tim nodding as though agreeing with what someone said. "Imagine that Marcus, tutored by Helus, how cool is that.....no offence but better than you're stuffy lectures" he playfully punched Marcus' arm. The old professor had worked out what was going on, he was no expect on mental health but he had an idea. "Yes you see Tim that's why I'm here, Jessica doing so well and having Helus help him" he made a gesture as though pointing to the God, "It means that so many Universities want her I had to make sure she came to mine, we'd be ever so proud." Marcus found it hard, he was never much of an actor but he hoped Tim was ill enough to just go along with the fiction. "So what I need is a big favour." "Anything" Tim's face went stoney serious as he stood. "You know I'd do anything to help you....especially if its for Jess to" he was keen to know what Marcus needed. "Well I need to get her signed up straight away, stop those pesky Royal Northfort lot snapping her up" the story was paper thin but it seemed to be working. "Told you" Tim turned to the space where in his mind Helus stood, "Their scum there" he hated them after they betrayed his friend Marcus by firing him for going against the dean two years ago. "It's Ok though Marcus, Jekar and Frossaj say they'll remember......the three of us have your back" he said firmly. "Thank you" Marcus said. "Only problem is you'll need to come back to East Moreland for a while to sort it, sadly it means you'll not be here for a while. I'm not sure whether they'd let you do that." He seemed sad that he was asking this from Tim. "Yeah" Tim stroked his chin in contemplation, turned to confer with Helus. "Well I've about three months left here, not much more I can do, and if this is for my daughter then I have to. They'll understand, I'm sure.....if not screw them hey" Tim laughed and Marcus to maintain the pretence joined with him. "So lets get this done, sooner I get Jessica on your course the happier she'll be, and then perhaps her Mum will be off my back." He sat down, pulled a pen and paper out the draw and began writing. Ten minutes later he handed Marcus a note, "So, as a Professor you think its fitting?" Marcus read it, the thing was a mess. "May I edit it?" Marcus asked nervously. "Marcus, your a Professor, I barely got out of High School" Tim handed the pen over and let Marcus draft a new letter, once he'd finished he handed it to the Secretary General. "It sounds good, see you're better with fancy words than me" Tim held it up as though allowing someone stood the other side of the desk read it. "Maybe your right Frossaj, Marcus does have a better way with words than you." "Thank You" Marcus spoke to the figment of Tim's mind, it was nearly over. Marcus walked to the door opened it and saw Ruth, Tim's secretary sat wiping tears away from her eyes and Melissa and Sir Jacob paced. He put a thumb up to them but grimmiced. "Melissa can I ask you and Sir Jacob to take this to the General Assembly" he handed over the letter to Melissa who read it, her heart in her mouth, she sighed in relief as she read it. "I'll take good care of him" Marcus hugged the young Chair of the Refugee Council as she left to go do her duty. "Tim, we should get going, we need to get this done quickly, thankfully the King let me borrow a plane." he gestured to the door, "Sir Jacob here will get your things sent over." "Of course" Sir Jacob was a little confused but Marcus eyes suggested he should just play along. "I'll even get you that skateboard" he grinned and shook Tim's hand. "I'll see you soon". Tim and Marcus headed out and Tim was almost skipping as he entered the car to take them to the airport. Melissa re-entered the hall and took the seat next to Tim's. She looked at it for a moment and then turned on the microphone. "I have in my hand a letter that the Secretary General would like me to read." she took a deep breath. "It is with deep regret that I must tender my notice as Secretary General with immediate effect. I wish to thank this organisation for granting me the greatest honour of being it's Secretary General now on two occasions. The CTO is in my view an organisation with great potential for good and I am sure that moving forward that potential will be reached. I would deeply love to be part of this however due to circumstances beyond my control this shall not be possible. There will no doubt be a time when things change and when they do, should the CTO permit, I would be honoured to once more serve this great body. I wish however succeeds me the best and urge them to release this organisations true potential. Thank you for an opportunity to serve." She struggled to finish the letter. "With that in mind I believe the organisation needs to start elections for a new secretary general" she casually flung the letter towards Andrew turned and left. As soon as she left the hall she leaned against the wall and began sobbing, she'd just ended her hero's career and it hurt, she slid down the wall and sat crying for a good length of time before composing herself and returning to her office. |
