Portworth was once again gearing up for the festival of sail, and while some boats had arrived in the last few days the harbour was now empty, as were many of the marinas and smaller ports in the local area, out to sea a logistical nightmare for the Royal East Moreland Naval Service was taking place as hundreds of vessels ranging from aircraft carriers down to little sailing dingies gathered together for the starting parade. Each ship had been assigned a position and now the Commander of the REMNS Yohlahe began to take them along the coast. On the beaches hundreds of people had gathered with BBQ's and picnics waving at the ships. Some would occasionally sound their horns or in the case of the smaller ships come closer into shore and wave. Some of the unpowered boats were being carefully towed so they could keep up.

As they turned the headland and Portworth came into view a whole load more small boats were mingling around and scurried to get out of the giant flotilla's path. A giant roar filled the air as from way behind the Ekra-Badger overtook them all flying just a few feet above the sea. It shot past the city at some 400mph and then made a long arcing turn. For many it was the first time this beast of a half ship/plane had been seen in public.

On land Will Buckley was nervous, he hated the Festival of Sail, not because of what it was, as an ex-Royal Marine he actually loved ships, but some huge crowds, a King that liked to enjoy the festival and a 5 year old Princess likely to go rouge any moment was the Head of Securities nightmare. As the royal car approached the harbours gate he spoke, "Keep you eyes peeled and for the love of Helus man mark Rhiannon" he relayed his advice a final time before his SUV stopped and he made his way back to the royal car.

"arrrrggghh" a tiny Rhiannon roared at him dressed in a green tunic and belt, a wooden sword on her belt and a shield strapped to her arm.

"Oh....pirate this year Your Higness" Will smiled as she slashed the air with her sword.

"No, I'm a Viking. We read some of their stories at school and Daddy says I can go visit their ship" she was trying to spot the red sailed Drakken out at sea but it was still far too far away for that. David followed shaking his head already having been told many facts about Vikings for the millionth time.

"Good morning Your Majesty" Will bowed slightly as he turned and began leading them through the crowds, four other agents formed an effective box around the pair and much to his surprise they made it to the royal box where the various foreign dignatries would also be with only having to grab Rhiannon once to keep her with them. The little Princess now sat with her feet swinging beneath her as she watched the Ekra-Badger race back towards the fleet.

"You sure this is a good idea?" a rather nervous Amelia Merriman asked as the rear doors of the Ekra-Badger opened, they were now between the beach and the fleet.

"It'll be fun" Olly Thomas informed her as the aircraft slowed down and began to take on some water in the rear ramp. "Hold on" he gave her a split second before the Ridgid Raider small boat floated and he gunned the engine, they burst out the rear of the Ekra-Badger the East Moreland flag streaming behind them complete with Red and Yellow smoke. Amelia shrieked half with fear and half excitement as they burst into the bright daylight. Olly spun them close to the beach and Amelia did her best to wave to the crowds as they got within a few meters of the beach. By now the REMNS Yohlahe had reached the harbour mouth and was makings its approach to the dockside. Olly chased them and soon they were alongside each other where Amelia was hauled aboard.

By the time she'd sorted her hair out the ship was putting its gangplank onto the quayside. Two Royal Marines approached her, one with the King's Sword. She hesitated as her hand reached out for the blade, to be permitted to carry the Kings Sword was a great honour for her and there was almost something sacred about it. She nervously took hold of it, the long straight bladed cavalry sword was much heavier than she imagined but she tried her best to confidently hold it vertical as she marched down towards the King, the two Marines following her. She approached the King who now stood, as the two Marines saluted with their own blades Amelia simply lowered her head. "Your Majesty, it is my honour to bring to you from the sea your blade" she laid it across the flat of her hands and waited.

"Thank you Amelia" the King said loudly before signalling she should sit in the empty seat next to him. "This year marks the third Festival where we have invited the world" the King addressed the crowd. "From a few nations, who are here for the third time, to the host we see streaming into the harbour much has grown about this festival." The King smiled as he watched the ships take their pre-arranged positions, it was quiet a squeeze but the REMNS Tugboats were experts at this by now. "To those who have attended before welcome back, to those who are here for the first time I wish you an enjoyable debut. I can now officially declare his festival open." Almost perfectly timed three of the newly built F-117N's streamed overhead with Red smoke streaming as they made their way out to sea where the REMNS Portworth carrier was waiting, due to arrive later that afternoon.

James Black had been right hadn't he? Make sure you get out and see the festivals because you'll never have seen anything like it, that had been the advice of the son of the former Achkaerinese ambassador to East Moreland[1] when Tommy Walker had rung up and asked about East Moreland before taking up his post as Prefect in the East Moreland capital, there hadn't been anything troublesome to handle yet at least, he'd had the chance to take in Pride even if his daughter had collided with another nations royal in the process, and speaking of his daughter she was right there in front of him - Kelly Walker with synonymous sunglasses, baseball cap and skateboard, stood next to him was his wife Sarah.

"Just remember no skateboarding near crowds." Tommy said putting his hands on his daughters shoulders as they watched the procession enter the harbor
"I know." Kelly said, Tommy smiled again it was their first festival of sail so they were quite excited
"Is that what I think it is?" Tommy asked spotting the two second world war juggernauts the Trident and the Invincible.
"Looks like it." the final member of the family Tommy's sister Callie said, she stood with the posture one would expect of a soldier "Where the heck did the Invincible come from?"
"I have no idea I'll be sure to ask." Tommy said, he noticed Callie feeling her forehead "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine." Callie said, Tommy sighed the scars of war weren't so easily healed, he turned back to watch the procession, but didn't miss his daughters eye wandering in the Ekra-Badger's direction, as a physics student she probably had a scientific interest anyway but she was also young and that thing was quite cool by the look of it.
"You're not going to get your head bitten off you know." Tommy said

Out on the water there was a relaxed feeling in the flotilla Captain Fiona Baines had taken to doing what she usually did when her ship the INS Fawn Azurewind was just cruising, she gone up top and was leaning forwards on the railing, it was her first time so she was keen to experience as much as she could of the festival, she had gotten slightly damp when the Ekra-Badger had surprised all in sundry and whizzed past them kicking up some water "What in the name of the Trinity?" had been her reaction in the moment. Now though she was smiling away as the earpiece she wore sprang into life.

"We're approaching our mooring spot Captain." it was the voice of her XO Commander Houghton
"Lock down storage bay two and park us Commander." Fiona answered
"Yes ma'am." Houghton said

On the fore deck of the INS Sharingan, stood Emperor Peter Azurewind and his fiancee Renee Sandiego, this had become something of a tradition - attend the Festival of Sail, arrive aboard the Sharingan, attend the Gala Dinner and then have a few days at Highwick. The interesting thing though was that this year there were other things on Peter's mind besides the festival, which slightly irritated the Emperor because he was a naval man through and through and would really have liked to have been enjoying looking at the Greenwood class from the sailing position that the Sharingan had but the anxiety wasn't really completely going away.

"Your Majesty." the ships Captain Yuki Tyler said coming out from the bridge, she was the daughter of one of Peter's closest friends and his former student "Permission to dock?"
"Permission granted Captain." Peter said, this was another part of this seeming tradition - Yuki didn't have to ask that but she liked to and Peter liked to play along, Yuki had had a rough time of it lately so anything that could put a smile on her face was fine by Peter.

"What are you going to do first?" Renee asked "Look around or make that introduction?"
"I'd like to try and sort Claire out first." Peter said "Let's get the girls and then we'll see if we can find David."
[1] said ambassador died in the King's Blood attack that also killed Joanna and others

„Captain“ Julian Wingert stood at the Bridge of the SG017 weeping the sweat from his brows as he put back on the historical hat turning to the lads bellow him, bellowing down:
“Alright, everyone get the sails up! The wind is in favor of the Parade so we don't have to rely entirely on the by-boats to reels us along!”
The seventeen year old's stomach tingled nervously watching the Ekra-Badger pull of their entrance, as he slightly shivered glancing down to his crew. Each and every last one wasn't exactly part of a military school of their own free will, unlike the crew of the SG018, they all where in fact convicted and forced into a military school as a result. He had Teenage arsonists, thieves, and vandals on board. Non of them had ever hurt another human, at least it hadn't been their intention, but still they all had their problems and everyone and their mother's eyes where on their behavior. Even though it was a surprise his crew made it to be one of the upcoming summer camp Battle's two Flagships, the SG018 was expected to shine and beat them at every contest, yet so far they had been able to pull even. They even reached East Moreland half a day earlier. Still, even one incident and their hides would be tanned to the point of outsiders believing them being red skinned from the get go.
“Alright, quarter sail! We still need to be slower than our escort! Everyone stay sharp, those who aren't in their costumes yet go get to your bunk and change now!”
Clenching his Teeth he stared over at the Girls ship next to them, some of the older girls over there not even hiding the fact they had smuggled beer onto their galleon and where wasted while the younger Girls did all the work, yet both ships did eventually fly the Uburzian flag on the sails, making Julian grin as he turned on the surveillance link on the Bridge Computer with the MM 703. The Ships might be Galleons, but for Travel security they had been given some Technology upgrades hidden in it's belly. Not to mention the Paint Canons where all secured electronically by him so no one could get funny ideas.
“Captain Wingert, hailing the MM 703. We are all ready and go. Pace is stable, sails set. Glitter canons in Position.”
From the radio, Admiral Eidmeier answered instead of the Captain of the MM 703:

“Copy that Captain Julian. Wait for the Mark and then proceed. I'll give the signal once your in a good position”
Matilda was already seated in the Royal box, a headset clipped in her ear as she looked at the life feed from her three ships on the Parade. “Captain Senfeld, tell your Daughter I'll have a word with her after the Parade. Half her crew can't stand straight right now. Make sure they fire the glitter Canons on the Mark.”
They had the Morelanders inspect the Paint and glitter canons thrice to make sure, she didn't want to scare anyone out of their boots when the Galleons suddenly start shooting. The MM 703 on the other hand was her own Pride. It used to be her own Ship. First as Captain, later as Admiral of the Mermaids. It felt strange seeing the Ship from this place now, as Envoy of her Nation, no longer a group of Renegade women looking for Trouble, money and Thrill. Yet before she could finish her thought, the ships came into vicinity of the Royal box:
“All ships go.” she said, as she heard the two Galleon captains yell through her headpiece: “FIRE!” the glitter cannons blasting full throttle, as the crews started to work hard to refill the fired canons as soon as possible, neatly planned assembly lines on the SG017 working together quickly, while the canon fire from the SG018 soon started to stutter. Matilda though couldn't stop herself from starting to laugh as she heart a loud chanting from her earpiece, dropping her headset. Some bystanders might even be able to hear the crew of the SG017 singing loudly:
“What shall we do with the drunken sailor..” from the dropped equipment.

The Drakken had lined itself up ready to come into the harbor, they'd been buffeted about a little by the passing of the Ekra-Badger and had struggled to keep up thanks to the wind. However now with all the hard work done a team of only four were needed the other thirty members of crew set about getting prepared. Each carefully put on their chain mail and furs. Beards were combed into smoothness and bones and charms woven into them, by the time they reached the quayside it was as though they'd been transported back 1,000 years. As the boat tied up at its appointed spot the first wave of the "warriors" piled ashore screaming a battle cry as drums played on board. On lookers scurried back as the five men armed with axes and swords roared in Norse.Soon the crowd settled down enjoying the spectacle as more and more Vikings came ashore and begun setting up camp as two of the younger Viking maidens handed children paper Viking helmets.

It wasn't often Cait left Ardia, but with Cóemgein on the mend from his car accident the doctors had advised them to have a quiet weekend away. They'd left Oliver with King Finley, he was always thrilled to look after the young nephew. Cait would have gladly come alone, Finley was keen for her to get to know the CNN monarchs and while the Iwi and Lodja had yet to have any presence she would hopefully get to speak with the Morelanders. The two therefore represented to two Celtic Kingdoms, Ui Cenneslaig and Cantabria. They sat watching the opening ceremony before Cait pulled on her husbands arm. They made their way down to where King David and Princess Rhiannon sat. "Your Majesty" Cait gave a small bow and urged her husband to do likewise. "I hope you don't mind but we brought little Rhiannon a present, but perhaps you'll want to keep it for later." she handed a small woven bag over to King David, "We hear she's learning swordcraft and that Morelanders like to learn a variety of styles, so I thought she may wish to learn to use a dirk and targe" The bag contained a small ceremonial style knife and a shield made in the traditional manner but with a Honeybadger painted on the smooth leather coating.

ANS Eternia
Aeternumese Premier Jingwei Tao applauded as the three F-117Ns overflew the ANS Eternia, the Aeternumese aircraft carrier from which he could not only watch the opening ceremony, but be right in the middle of it. He was thoroughly impressed by the turnout - he had never seen tihs many ships in one place - and was personally proud of Aeternum's showing, which he was excited to see next to all the other vessels.

"What do you think of it so far, Natilyn?" Vice Premier Natilyn Li stood next to him, also applauding.

"It's certainly something, isn't it? Reminds me of the first Festival of Sail. Were you there?"

"Nah. I saw it on TV though. It's so much better in person.” The two stopped talking for another moment as the Ekra-Badger passed them, the scream of the powerful engines drowning out even the drone of the powerful turbine of the ship. “Captain Liao, is our fleet ready for disembarking?”

“Everything is ready on our end, sir. General Hu prefers to be down with the men. I think he’s prepping an aircraft for display, or something.” Captain of the Eternia Kevin Liao saluted half jokingly.

“Very good. I want everyone looking their best and brightest for this event. Speaking of best and brightest… I wonder how our two Ministers are doing?”

Zheng He
Dont’throwupdon’tthrowupdon’tthrowupdon’tthrowup. “God, this is horrible!” Minister of Culture Caleb Kang gripped the side of the replica Aeternumese vessel as the boat was buffeted back and forth by the ships around it. “I hate the ocean… why did I even come here to begin with?”

“Are you kidding? This is great! This is the best thing I’ve done this summer!” Minister of Foreign Relations Megan Harte shook her head at her seasick colleague. “You look terrible. Here, drink this - ginger ale. It’ll help with the seasickness.”

“Urgh.. thanks. You’re gonna have to excuse me when we dock, I need to evacuate what’s left of my stomach into the nearest toilet.”

A couple of minutes later, the entire Aeternumese fleet had been docked. As soon as the Zheng He’s gangway was set down, Kang stumbled away, nearly knocking over a People’s Liberation Navy officer in the process. “Hey Kang… you realize we’re taking this boat out for cruises, right? Every evening? And you’re expected to be the cruise guide?” Harte rolled her eyes and set off to find her delegation, which was already making its way to the VIP room.

With the Sharingan moored up Peter and Renee were making their way to where they knew David was likely to be, they were now accompanied by two girls the first was Kirsty Tsu, she was Peter's Goddaughter, the daughter of Gowu's Chief Councilor and an aspiring artist, the second was Kirsty's girlfriend Claire Callaghan. The two had been invited along by Peter firstly because they'd never experienced this before but there was another reason as well, one that until recently Claire herself had forgotten about, but one that Peter hadn't it had only been when Peter had surprised them back in Gowu that she'd remembered what milestone was coming up for her.

The four made their way into the VIP area where Tommy did the usual greetings, by now Kelly was quizzing one of the local soldiers about the Ekra-Badger, it was to expected since nothing like that had ever been seen by her before. Peter noted the Cantabrian presence as well, he knew Cait was Finley's sister and that Ui Cenneslaig was a nation Achkaerin hadn't built proper relations with yet, that was something Peter was keen to rectify though perhaps when he wasn't too busy with planning his wedding. He couldn't hide his grin when he saw Rhiannon, that took him back. When the Cantabrian's had finished Peter approached his friend.

"With Simon it was always cowboys with Serenity it was always something out of a fantasy novel, she did a fairly good vampire as I recall, though it was science fiction when they both got a few years under their belts. It's great to be here again David." Peter said "I don't believe you've ever met my Goddaughter Kirsty or her girlfriend Claire." he allowed the girls to say hello before continuing "We're looking forward to the gala dinner later and when you have a moment myself and Claire have a bit of a favor to ask of you."

Freyahad, as usual, shunned the VIP area in favour of a seat on the harbour wall at the entrance where the ships passed. A few Morelander small boats who came close to the wall spotted her and yelled out to the Princess who simply smiled and waved back. She looked at her phone but no message was there and so she looked up and grinned as she heard the sailors from some boat singing the old shanty "What shall we do with a drunken sailor."

Back in the VIP area David almost rolled his eyes when Cait and her husband presented a gift, it wasn't as though Rhiannon didn't have enough things to poke holes in people and now she had another. "Rhiannon" David called to his daughter who was already hopping to see the Drakken as it came into harbour. "This gentleman is the King of Cantabria and this is his Queen." Rhiannon had been to enough functions now to know the rules, and today she knew any broken rules would probably mean she couldn't be a Viking. She removed her replica helmet and gave a little bow to the two monarchs. "They've brought you a gift" he showed her the small shield and little dagger, tiny hands reached out for them but David instead handed them to Will, "You can learn to use them from Lord Townshend" he refered to Rhiannon's sword tutor, the Head of the Court of Canley and probably one of the best educated swordsman in Mundus.

"Thank you ever so much" Rhiannon said without need to be prompted. "I promise I'll learn to use them and get very good." she spoke eagerly. "I hope I can visit Canta......Canb....your country and show you one day." she was getting good at this kind of thing and David put a proud hand on her shoulder.

"Perhaps you'd like to join us at the Drakken?" David asked them, before they could leave though he spotted the Achkaerin delegation. "Please forgive me, I should say hello" David excused himself before turning back. "Lily will go to the Drakken with you" David spoke to Rhiannon, his cousin had been sat a row behind them enjoying the sight of the boats. "Lily, you don't mind do you."

The newly restored Ironside smiled, she had grown to like Rhiannon and followed the little Princess off to meet the Vikings, David could see the two holding hands and Rhiannon doing her best to educate her babysitter Lily. David turned and meet the Achkaerin delegation shaking each of their hands. "Lets just pop down here" David spotted an area of the VIP tent that was sectioned off for later in the day, but stewards weren't exactly going to stop the King, as they entered the tent he picked up a glass of fruit juice from a tray by the door, stepped over the knee high rope and then took a seat. A white coated waiter paniced and hurried over with a wine list having frantically done his jacket up. "No..no...we're fine, sorry" David apologised as he saw him heading over, "Just need a quiet place to talk for a few moments, pretend we're not here" he waited for Peter to take a seat with Claire. "So a favour you say?" he asked.

Outside Edward Tamana, the Foreign Minister had been relaxing enjoying the sun and an early morning bacon sandwich when he spotted the Aeternum delegation. "Miss Harte" he approached having left his sandwich on a table in the VIP area. "Edward Tamana" he extended a hand, he'd made it a point to memorise the various Foreign Ministers and the like of Mundus for just such an occasion. "Welcome to East Moreland" he looked at the rather pale colleague with her, he wasn't to familiar with him and so continued talking with Harte while the other man recovered. "Did I see you just get off that replica ship" he motioned to the one behind them. "Now if you came all the way from Aeternum on that you're braver than me" he smiled.

"Told you she'd be here" Alex sneaked up on Freya and took a seat next to her on the rock. A small girl scurried to sit on his knee, she didn't look too happy. Evie sat looking glum, she wanted to be playing with Rhiannon, she'd made the Festival sound so exciting in school but now she was stuck with Alex and Freya, not that they didn't make things fun but Rhiannon was even more fun.

"How'd it go?" Freya asked

Alex glummly shook his head. That morning he'd been in court to have a hearing about him officially adopting Evie, the five year old girl he'd been responsible for rescuing from the Mhorish Sea and then the small island they'd been stranded on. At first she'd not respond to anyone but Alex, then Rhiannon, and it was Freya who really brought her out of herself. "They say there are two problems, first is they can't be sure her parents aren't out there somewhere, the refugees ended up spread across a lot of Mundus" Alex shrugged, Evie had told the court her parents had been on the same boat as her but the court wasn't so sure as no one could prove they were dead. "Second is that the court said I may not be able to provide the long term stability she needs." Alex ruffled her hair, he'd not thought of becoming a father but he couldn't turn his back on Evie, they'd been through so much together and now he knew it would break his heart if she left.

"So he can't be my real Daddy yet" Evie sulked. "Can I go play with Rhiannon?" Evie asked hopefully.

"Yeah, lets go find Rhiannon Ironsidesson or whatever she's calling herself" Freya offered an hand to Evie who took it. Alex took Evies other and the three headed along the Quayside security being as discreet as they could.

"She's Rhiannon Bloodaxe" Evie said, "And I'm Evie Frostbeard." she said proudly.

"I don't see a beard" Freya teased, "More like Evie Baldchin" the three chuckled as they cut through the VIP area looking for the Bloodaxe, Freya spotted the Achkaerin and Aeternum groups, waved to a few familiar people before tracking down where Rhiannon had gone and heading off in pursuit.

Admiral Eidmeier mused over the scenery, tilting her head as she saw her own former ship setting anchor, the Festival was off to a good start so far.

She wasn't too far from the Achkaerin Delegates as the King, treating herself to a sandwich on a snack isle as a spine chilling voice walked up to her: "Hello Mother."
The revulsion in her Daughters voice was almost freezing the air around them, as Matilda turned slowly around. The woman in front of hear was wearing the local police uniform, her arms crossed seemingly awaiting an answer.
"Well, i didn't think to see you so soon, Waltraud." Matilda replied, trying to stay professional: "Is your sister and father around as well?"
"Considering we live here, and the two are running the very same bakery where you met dad back then?" the woman blow out a hiss of Frustration: "Look. It's been seven years since you have been here last, and you couldn't even call us that you come? We found out from the Press list of the Gala dinner guest. And no. I don't even want to hear it or i run Danger of punching a foreign Guest."
Matilda coughed slightly shaking her head: "I am here on duty for my Emperor and Country. Not to leisure..."
Waltraud cut her mother short, as the angry police officer huffed: "Get your sorry behind at least once to Maria and Dad. They wouldn't dare *bother* you but i will. You don't even deserve to know, but i want my Sister to have it of her mind so get over there once this whole ceremony is over. They are busy right now anyway to sell baked model ships."
And with the fierce glare she might just have inherited from her mother the police officer walked back to her position, not even turning around to her mother.

Matilda on the other hand was torn between bursting into fumes for her daughters act in front of some of the worlds most important people, and walking over to the bakery where she had met her father. He had been such a sweet young lad. And eager to hop in with a buff strong sailor back then. Of course, he was less happy when she dropped two babies and a sum of money on him nine months later and set sail again, but those where the times. She was an aspiring captain for the mermaids and had better things to do than sit at a house and watch children. Glaring over to the Port side houses she spotted one of the busy local business stalls most likely belonging to him and her second daughter. For now mingling with the important people was her duty, maybe later, she thought, as she approached King David and the Emperor Peter, with a salute:
"Emperor Azurewind, King David. What a lovely display! I truly wish we would have been able to participate earlier. Maybe next year we can arrange for Emperor Orion to visit as well." though hoping they didn't hear too much of the dispute. A woman leaving her children with the father didn't seem like the Reputation she wanted to carry in the name of her nation.

"Do you want to tell him or should I?" Peter asked looking at Claire after they'd sat down
"You tell him." Claire said
"All right." Peter said "Claire's originally from Mercia, she's a survivor of that genocide and under a CTO Refugee Council passport had her Achkaerinese citizenship fast tracked. In a couple of weeks she will be eligible as a Cult of Helus follower for her sword ceremony. Now I've read a fair amount about the ceremony so I understand it but obviously I leave the technicality's of it to Priestess Hinata Akido as well as the analysis of the qualifications. Thing is...This is where you're going to have explain for yourself Claire."

"I made myself a promise a few years ago that when it was my turn to get my sword I'd do it right. Of course I had all these imaginings about what would happen and none of them likely will. I doubt my family would turn up, since to them I'm the heretic. When I go through that ceremony I want the sword to be one I've made, Peter always says that a crown reflects the head that wears it, well that's what I'm after a sword that reflects who I am. Problem is it's been a few years since I last read anything about how someone is supposed to forge a sword."

"And it's been a few years since I last forged one." Peter said "Back when I had both my arms. So basically we'd like to ask if you can suggest someone who could teach Claire the basics?"

It was at this point that a woman addressed first Peter and then David. Peter wasn't sure who it was but mention of Orion did enough to confirm that she was from Neu Urbizis.
"I have to say I've never seen a festival with as many historical vessels participating as this one." Peter said "I'm just glad I'm not in a wheelchair this year."

The Sunburst may well have been Stasya's yacht, but since she'd become a Lady in Waiting it hadn't been used too often. As such her father, Duke Tobias had determined it was probably a good thing to borrow it and bring it to East Moreland. He'd spoke to his daughter about it the last time he'd visited the Palace, it was all part of the Pelagiya plan now. Tobias and his wife Anoushka had been thrilled when Stasya got a position in the royal household, it gave them a useful position to further their families position, maybe get their 16 year old son Henrik into a decent Army Regiment, a quick promotion, maybe even part of the famed Warriors of Gaia, the possibilities now they had a direct line to the Queen were endless. Then when Stasya was given the role of escorting King David to the Royal Wedding they saw another avenue open and Stasya had played her role brilliantly. After she had returned from her trip to Northfort it had appeared that their daughter Stasya had successfully seduced the King and now he appeared to be smitten.

That was the sole reason for this voyage, well that and to enjoy a nice break in a new destination. They planned on leaving the boat in Portworth feigning some technical problem, that would then give Stasya and excuse to come and collect the vessel after the work had been done, and of course they hoped knowing Stasya was in East Moreland the King would find time to see her.

"So do you think we will meet our future Son in Law" Anoushka smiled as the boat docked, they were scanning the quayside and spotted the VIP area, the figure of King David was clearly visible. "I can see why she likes him, very handsome" she mused slightly jealous of her daughters lover.

"Remember though, say nothing" Duke Tobias took hold of his wife's hand as they headed down onto the quayside. Tobias had some money burning a hole in his pocket, he rather fancied a small sailing yacht and figured this would be the place to find one.

It was odd Niklaus' younger brother had spent most of his adult life in East Moreland, yet this was his own first visit. He'd originally arranged to bring his wife, however she'd become ill a few days before he left for Portworth and so instead they'd decieded that Niveden would accompany him. She was thrilled, she always wanted more time and attention from him, but as merely a concubine she knew his wife would always take precidence, that didn't mean Niklaus didn't have feelings for her but it was just the lot of an Honored Matres, and she accepted that. But now having a week of him all to herself was exciting. Niklaus was used to functions such as this in Ui Cenneslaig, the Corrino families adopted home however Niveden often had to stay in the background. As they strolled down to the dockside she slipped her hand into his, "Niv you can't do that remember" he chastised her gently. He was a well known business man in Ui Cenneslaig, and had contacts further afield in Heyra, Vaguzia and Achkaerin thanks to the Bene Gesserit connection, it was therefore likely he'd bump into someone he knew and to be seen holding hands with a young attractive woman when he was known to be married was a problem, so instead Niveden was acting the role of his personal assistant.

"Spoil sport" she pouted as they showed their passes to get into the festival.

"I'll make it up to you later" Niklaus smiled, he was keen to see if he could find anyone he recognised but also loved the idea of getting to see some interesting boats.

The Quintelian fleet arrived late, as the stereotype that all Quintelians arrive late. King Lapu stepped off the QRB Red Scare and the crowd roasted. It was not to invite him, but it was a booing of Ardian crowds, carrying tarpaulins and posters of his fake nudes chanting "No to nudes, help the poor." He whispered to one of his men and skinned followed. He and his Ministers went to the QRB Independence to officially start the Quintelian exhibit.

The QRB Independence set sail and started the first ride. Onboard the first ride, along with tourists, are the Quintelian officials. They hosted the opening of all ships. After an hour of sailing in the bay, King Lapu and Pia Young, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, talked.

"So, are you going to tell the truth? Or are we going to continue this... scandal?" Asked a seductive Young.

"No, don't think about it for now. Go on, chat with your fellow ministers. I'm going to talk with a few important people."

The next JoJo
Once the Iga-Hatsuzo had withdrawn its oars and moored in, half the crew had climbed out of the lower deck and made way for solid ground, determined to get some fresh air and a bit of food in. Still dressed in colourful silk clothing with a long, narrow piece of linen wrapped around the upper parts of their heads, the Himeyan reenactors that weren't ready to stand around on the ship had made their way ashore, carrying battle standards, huge bundles of linen, sticks and of course, their almost comically large gauntlets. Within the hour they had set up a camp of their own; with the Drakken set up just beside them, the scene began to look like one of those TV shows where ancient warriors that would never meet in real life fought each other.

Among the 40-some reenactors that were sharing their history at the camp were both Asuka Nakazato and Kyoichi Saneda. The Premier had stood out for being one of the few females there, wearing an intricately-designed silk dress; supposedly as one of the princesses that would've been housed on the Iga-Hatsuzo's uppermost level. Saneda on the other hand looked just like the other warriors there, his massive tattooed arms were even wielding an authentic pair of steel fists, daring the growing flock of captivated onlookers to try using them.

Back at the Iga-Hatsuzo itself, some of the Himeyan Naval Defense Service personnel who had volunteered to join the Iga-Hatsuzo reenactment team were directing people around the decks, taking selfies with the younger tourists and even giving small lessons on how to wield the two weapons you'd typically find on a medieval Himeyan ship, the steel fists as well as replica Vaguzian flintlock rifles. Lt. Kazuo Orioki was having a fair bit of fun shouting commands at a small group of guests who volunteered to do drills like they would on the real thing, among them were young women and in-uniform Moreland troops, all running around the upper deck with their costumed counterparts with prop muskets pretending to shoot at raider ships.

“I feel like there's more ships with the Heyran flag there then in Heyra's harbour” commented Thomas, “Certainly” added Honoré, the now first in line of succession to the Principality was a very dear friend of the Miral family, well, mainly the son, Thomas. Friends at the university, and then in glorious decadent evenings full of women and champagne in Heyra, that was another face of that controversial nation, if we may call it so. “After all, from what I know 80% of Heyrans ships aren't in Heyra” said Honoré, looking at his glass, Thomas looked at him, “90% of Heyrans aren't Heyran” he simply said, making them both laugh.

“We have our own helicopter carrier” commented Thomas, before taking another sip of that gorgeous milkshake he had made himself, as the Tellor had effectively his own helicopter onboard, while he was watching the distant but no less gigantic aircraft carrier. “How's the parade going ?” asked Honoré, looking at the opposite side of the parade going on. The Tellor was bit far from the shows, but nevertheless there was tons of ships navigating. Thomas took his long-range glasses, with an expert looking, carefully watched for a dozen of second, then put down his long-range glasses, “Sincerely Haut-Prince”, “Oh you stop calling me like that, I feel old” it irritated Honoré to call him by his new title after his father death and his brother on the throne, “Well, still not having a single idea of what's going on” finally replied Thomas, “Maybe we shall get closer ?” asked Honoré, “Surely. Know how to move that big boat ?” tickled Thomas, “Captain ?” screamed Honoré, waiting a few seconds before seeing the escort ladies moving out to see what was happening. “I don't know how to drive such boat”, “Maneuver we say, I think...” stopped Thomas, “As long as you think, we'll still be both alive. Well, you know what, I know how to pilot, so let's use my wonderful skills to get a better view.” said Honoré, pointing at the helicopter, “Your wonderful skills ? If a miracle appear in the coming seconds to make you wonderful, then I'd agree to get on that helicopter with you” added Thomas, before both started moving towards the helicopter, “You” pointed Honoré at a sailor, “Prepare the helicopter” he ordered. “I do not think this is a good idea your Majesty” said, coming-out one of the body-guard in charge of the Haut-Prince's protection. “Is that because I have drink a bit ? Be sure, I just wish to make some waves around to prove that moron behind me that I'm wonderful” he confessed, pointing at Thomas. “Come on” he launched at Thomas, as Honoré was getting in the helicopter, while the body-guard was in panic.

"Welcome to East Moreland Admiral" David stood and shook Matilda's hand, "Please help yourself to a drink" he motioned for her to take a seat with them. "We were just discussing this ladies future" he turned his attention to Claire.

"I'll be honest with you I'm not the man to ask about making swords, I've had a go at a few but the one I began making for Caspian is a little wonky, and I've started Rhiannon's several times. However I do know a man who is a much better teacher." He took his mobile phone out and tore a page from his pocket note book. "That is the name, address and phone number of Max Norris, he's the Royal Blacksmith, but rather than live in Northfort he's up in Ostlake, his forge is at the Temple of Jekar there, as you'll know it's supposed to be the point Unasson forged his own sword. He makes swords, lets pilgrims use his forge too." David was explaining this more for Peter and Matilda's benefit. "Now if you say you're doing this the right way you'll need to first head to the Temple here, that's where the God's Forge is, the place where Jekar made his sword, collect two iron bars. Their actually easier to find than you'd imagine, you then walk them to Ostlake, or ride on a horse, some 250miles. Once you get there hand the bars over to Max, he'll either make you the sword or help you make one. Then most people take it to the Temple of Helus in Northfort and have it blessed, you're problem comes that once you've made the sword you can't carry it." The King smiled, it was an age old issue, "You see you're not permitted to carry a sword as you've not been through the ceremony. Even if that sword is in a bag or on your back." The King sat back in his chair, "You have four witnesses?"

"I have my four witness's." Claire said, in truth she had more than four this being due to the act that had earned her the Djana Cross, Achkaerin's highest military honour, the cultists on the crew had queued up outside Peter's office aboard the old INS Seraphim to tell him about their intentions to speak for Claire - not something they had to do or anything, it was probably more down to Kirsty being Peter's goddaughter and Claire being Kirsty's girlfriend that they'd told Peter. She had a couple who predated that event but that moment had ensured the clearance of what was on paper at least the most difficult hurdle.

"Sounds like I'd better ask Nao to make up a spare room." Peter said, Nao was a junior member of staff at the Achkaerinese embassy in Northfort but she had a special job description, she managed the Highwick estate for the Royal Family making sure it was well maintained, cleaned and the like. Though Peter was wondering how one solved the sword carrying issue, there was clearly a solution on the basis that there were people permitted to carry swords around East Moreland in public, otherwise there'd be no such thing as a sword ceremony. Still Claire was smart enough to work it out and since chances were Kirsty would probably be around Claire the pair would definitely be able to after all with their combined intelligence there wasn't much they couldn't figure out. "Do I need to give you riding lessons before you do this?"

"I only fell off once the last time." Claire said in mock sulking
"I'll take that as a maybe then." Peter said with a chuckle he looked back at David "Is there anything else she should know?"

The SG017 had been towed to the pier in close proximity to the Iga-Hatsuzo and the Drakken. Julian and his crew where making last preparations to clean up the ship, while they shuddered with each and every word they could hear being yelled over from the SG018. The Captain was getting a verbal lashing from her Mother, as she had failed to keep the crew in line, with several hangover girls with messy uniforms where wobbling on the deck during the inspection.
His own crew was ready for shore leave, with all of them gathered at the deck, putting up a little show for the bystanders. Hands behind their backs and acting like grown Sailors the stood and awaited the Captains orders:

"Powder monkeys." Julian nicknamed the younger members of his crew with this term for a former Position on a ship: "You get the first shift on shore leave. Stay in groups of three, each with one of your Seniors. The Navigator, and the Officers stay at the Ship with me for now! Dismissed!"
"Aye, Aye. Captain." Julian shuddered at the response, not with some glee as he set up a makeshift camp in front of the camp, getting some food and a small campfire going. The ship was ready for the fake battle later the day, and he didn't want anyone to sully the freshly cleaned floors before the show started. Starring around the ships next to them, he couldn't but shudder at the strange Display. Next to them two other Displays of historical Ships had been placed, and he had to lie if he didn't admit he felt a little intimidated. With his 17th Century Uniform, he felt like someone had thrown children into Battle against Bloodthirsty invaders. Biting from a Piece of Bread while his officers where roasting themselves some Marshmallows over a small fire:

"Summercamp Battle will be an actual battle, remember. If we manage to win over the girls there, we might get some respect back all of us have lost." Nodding to the warriors next to them: "And to be honest, i really wish i could spent some time exploring the perimeter. But Duty comes First."

Some for the powder Monkeys meanwhile had slipped onto the Himeyan ship getting their Photographs taken in a bizare Mix up of Culture and history.

Matilda nodded to the King and the Emperor, sipping from her Lime infused Soda Water, as she listened intrigued: "We Uburzian lost most of the Knightly heritage during the founding of the Empire. Only a small group had survived, and they usually are considered outcast as they battled against the transition from the Monotheistic Religion we had before. It's almost ironic to us that your tradition is based on multiple Gods."
Tilting her head slightly, she looked over to the ships: "Just out of curiosity, in how much trouble are they" she nodded to her ships: "if the Princess finds out we are going to have a sea battle firing paint at the opposite ship?"

"Anything else" David mused for a while, "Think pretty much once you've meet the criteria and got the sword you're good to go" he said, "Of course you need to arrange a big party for after but that's not really difficult." the King thought back to his own not long after his 22nd birthday, it had been more of a formal occasion, a ball infact, personally he'd have preferred doing what Redfern did and just having a do in the officers mess at the Alpine Cadre but of course being a Prince there were certain things that were expected of him. Then of course there was Matilda's, but he tried to forget about that one now. "I'm sure Skye Maddix would be able to answer any technical questions" he pulled out his little pocket book and scribbled down a phone number and handed it to Peter, "That's her phone number, I'm sure she'd be delighted to help" he handed it over. "Now I'm off to try and find my Viking Princess before she gets in trouble" he stood and headed off towards the Drakken.

Rhiannon was having a whale of a time, she'd already had about a hundred photos taken with the crew of the ship and was blending in nicely, by the time David arrived she was busy playing some bone tossing and catching game with one of the crew sat on the deck. "What you playing?" David asked as he sat down next to her having waved away the formalities as he didn't want to interfere with Rhiannon's fun.

"You balance the tiny bones on one hand then throw them up and see how many you can catch" she demonstrated throwing six little bones, actually made from plastic up, and two landing back in her hand. "See" David picked the four others up and had a go, he was useless. "Ragnar told me that it helps your hand and eye work together and that was important for a Viking Shieldmaiden......that's what I'm going to be now" Rhiannon said making her father and her new Viking buddy smile. The King toured the ship with the crew and his daughter until they bumped into Freya, Redfern and Evie, the two girls running off to go explore some more with a tiring Will Buckly keeping an eye on them.

"She's a Shieldmaiden now" David explained as they disappeared. "Look, fancy a beer, there's a bar just over there" He pointed to where a makeshift beach bar, complete with deck chairs and coconut shell drinking vessels was.

"Speaking my language" Freya was first off the ship and ordered drinks before the two men caught her up. She pointed to three deck chairs around a small table and Alex and David sat down. They chatted for a moment before Freya arrived with a huge water melon.

"That's not beer!" Alex pointed out as she sat and handed each a cluster of straws.

"Wow.....spot the former military intelligence guy" Freya teased as she kissed him on the cheek. "No, its a cocktail, its more fun and it looked cool, those kids were ordering one, now tuck in" she put her straw in the melon and sucked, "It's good" the straw still in her mouth she gave a thumbs up before taking another suck. The King and Alex just shook their heads, smiled and took a drink, they had to agree.

"You're both coming tonight right?" David asked them in reference to the ball. "It's looking manic, Achkaerin have brought about half their country again, then we've these Hulk comedy fist guys from Himemaya, the Lodjain's have sent a few....oh and we've Cantabrian royalty, which also means Ui Cenneslaig royalty. All hands to the pump."

"Maybe" Freya mumbled, seeing her brothers worried expression she finally let go of her straw. "I'll be there" she said reassuringly. "Can we get a few of these in though" she pointed back to the giant cocktail they were sharing.

OOC- CLeared with Dave

"May we join you." An unfamiliar voice asked King David. "Sorry.....may I introduce myself" the man added as an after thought. "I am Duke Tobias Pelagiya from Lodja" he gave a careful bow, he was carrying a bottle of wine in an ice bucket and two glasses in his other hand. "This is my dear wife, Anuoshka" he waited for the King to acknowledge them and allow them to sit, after all he had to make a good impression. He put down the glasses and shook the King's hand. "My daughter enjoyed her time here when she visited. She looks forward to being here again some day soon" he seemed to give David a knowing wink as he took his own seat.

"Yes my daughter said that you were a very kind host" Anoushka continued. "She said we simply must check out this festival, and of course with my husband liking his yachts and being in the market it was a must do." Anoushka thanked her husband who had been pouring them two glasses of wine. "Erm...we would offer you a drink but I....Tobias perhaps get three more glasses." she ordered her husband who seeing the giant melon drink smiled and rose from his seat to go and collect three more glasses incase their hosts would like a drink.

Finally, after some time of waiting, the Foxtrovian guest had finally managed to arrive to the festival. On the decks of the two ships, the Foxtrovian sailors were now on top of the HMS Cunning and the Bloody Queen, shouting, cheering, and singing in their native language. Once they had dock, they had begun to throw a part on the top decks of the ships that were side by side, and had put a plank between the ships allowing for travels between them. Over the sounds of waves, you could hear sounds of classical music, electronic dance, and men yelling over one another.

"We've made", a shout was heard over a loud speaker, and the man who said it, was the king.
