To the commendable northern nation of Darandum, the Allied States of Rurale wish to discuss a mutually beneficial port-access agreement, and the stipulations that might naturally arise from such an agreement. The nation of Darandum possesses coastline and viable access ports to the Great Northern Sea, and Rurale possesses coastline and access ports to the Krimeon Sea, by way of Peniche Bay. The Ruralegian administrator of trade and commerce has brought it to the nation's attention that allowing our neighboring nation access to the southern waters, and requesting access to the northern waters would save both countries time and, arguably more importantly, money, saving the circumnavigated trip through the Illumic Channel. If this is an offer that interests Darandum, then Rurale is open to discussing the regulations and laws that must be abided for such an agreement to work and prosper. Respectfully yours, Anastasie Geroux Leone Travert (Administrator of Trade and Commerce) |

To the representatives of the Allied States of Rurale, Darandum's leaders have long sought access to a warm- water port, and very much wish further discussion of the port- access agreement. We believe that such an arrangement will undoubtedly open access to various other nations for reasons of trade and commerce for both nations, but will also potentially strengthen the ties between out two nations as well. There is much to be gained here, and much to be explored. Darandum will be sending representatives of our great nation to the capital of Rurale to further discuss the port- access agreement. Please expect them soon. Signed, Tolin Korst, Daniel la Rone, Corey Hern, Richard Hirst, and Lady Leah Mortinson Philosopher- Kings of Darandum |

Preparations for the arrival of Darandum's esteemed representatives will begin immediately. The Ruralegian Embassy will absorb all expenditures and costs, naturally, and your Representatives will be shuttled from the National Anouk Memorial Aéroport to the Grand Segal Resort in Tour, Anouk. We eagerly await your arrival, and the commencement of such an agreement. Respectfully yours, Anastasie Geroux Leone Travert Leon halted as he passed by the window, nervously readjusting his tie for what seemed like the seventh or eighth time. A man in his late thirties, with considerable experience in negotiation and trade agreements under his belt, you would have thought he would be used to pre-meeting nerves by now. But it was not so. "It's fine, Leon," Marion said, walking up beside him and placing a hand on his shoulder. "This will be a cinch. You and I both know how much Darandum has been seeking a warm-water port. Negotiations will go smoothly." She smiled at her fellow administrator, and followed him closely as he resumed the march towards conference room B. Ms. Marion Salvage was slightly younger than Leon, but equally experienced, serving as the nation's Administer of International Affairs. Both had been prepped for this meeting, to discuss the Port Exchange agreement by le Directeur herself, but Marion hardly needed the prep. With the representatives lodged and given sufficient time to settle into their suites (and sight see, as Tour truly was a beautiful city, in Rurale's opinion) the time for the meeting to discuss the agreement had been set for this afternoon, Conference room B in the hotel. With briefcases at their sides, the two Ruralegian representatives paused outside of the large double doors, and gave one last glance to one another. "Pour la patrie bien-aimée," Marion said to her associate, hand over her heart in the customary Ruralegian salute. Leon nodded, and mimicked her salute. "Pour la patrie bien-aimée," he parroted back, before the two of them entered the conference room. |
