Standardization of counting methods.

It is our proposal the civilized nations of the world standardize their counting methods for larger numbers to prevent confusion between nations that may be using different counting methods for larger numbers.

It is our proposal that we adopt the long form over the short form as it makes the most sense mathematically as the naming convention links the name to the power (as long form is based on powers of a million rather then powers of a thousand as in short form).

Short Form Long FormNumber
One One 1
Thousand Thousand1,000
Million Million1,000,000
Billion Milliard1,000,000,000
Trillion Billion 1,000,000,000,000

etc.

Yours,
His Eminence Huidon Vect Keeper and Collector of Standards, Weights and Measures.
