Things had been going pretty well for him at work, the hospital has been doing sublimely. Mortality rate has been at a all time low, quite surprising for this region since it seemed to be the epicenter of Spiritual Activity. Now that he thought of it Hollow incidents had been on the rise but not much fatalities thanks to the help of wayward Quincies that are following their oown paths out there in the world.

Things were different now, no more abbey for them to congregate but they still were a community, just forced to communicate in a more modern way. Separation but still close together, that he could live with and most knew how to get in contact with those who held power to help them.

Sitting at his desk with papers upon papers before him he shook the reminiscing feeling away. Back to his original train of though, the city's spiritual activity. Closing his eyes he focused on the city and all things around him. Many lights of various colors became visible to him, all the souls that were in a 5km around him. He was sure that he could expand his range far beyond this already vast length but never really found the time or need but that was something to look into but at a later date.

Varies colors started to fade as he weened out the regular humans that possessed no spiritual energies. Next he saw that only a handful of Quincy actually remained in his range, at least some were still present. Next were the hollows. there number were still there and in a reasonable number but they will have to be dealt with eventually.

More fullbringers had popped up in the city and Arrancars had diminished but what was even more surprising he hardly caught wind of Shinigami anymore. It would appear that the rumors may be true, that would be a bad thing indeed. Reconnaissance

Opening his eyes he took a deep breath as all the dots of lights that enabled his sight vanished. Shuffling a few papers around on his desk he got up and took off his coat placing it in his closet as he grab his winter garb. A nice dark brown corduroy coat with a blue scarf and gloves, where were his gloves.

He pondered on this for a little while, maybe he left them in the subbasement, would hurt or take too long to take a quick look. Exiting his office he took the elevator down, to the B level. The button glowed red, standard color, until it changed to blue. His Pentacale had activated the mechanism to enter the lair located beneath the hospital. The only place that was truly safe for his kind now.

The cart had came to a smooth stop and the doors glide open. It was all darkness until light after light illuminated his path. Walking to the last location he was he retraced his step. It wasn't in the training area, nor the lounge area. Daichi rubbed the bridge of his nose as the glasses slightly caused irritation. Then it came to him, he knew were they were.

This room was decked with books, many of them salvaged from the Abbey, others were heirlooms left behind. All were here now. Walking through the library he found them neatly next to the book he was previously reading. Medical journals and such, you could never have too much knowledge of the subject he thought.

Grabbing the gloves he left the book there and headed for the exit. One good thing bout being here in the lair as he call it was that it was easy for him to slip out unnoticed and in a moment he was outside walking in the cold air.

Light had not yet brighten the morning skies and the air was chilled, crisp refreshing. Daichi took a few deep breathes as he walked the empty streets. Dawn was soon upon him, less than a hour to go and the city will liven up, people swarming the downtown area, moving amongst each other on there way to work or school. He couldn't help but smile. Only if they knew what the world was truly like, what goblins and ghouls lurk in the dark. But then again he believed in the Rules of his clan. Keep the blind blind. A much shorter way of keeping the unaware in the dark. It was truly for their own good.

He lifted the collar of his jacket higher to help seal any openings to his neck that the scarf may have missed. The wind had picked up and found a vulnerable spot in his winter garb to sent a chill in to him. The thought of actually catching a cold amused him, he hasn't had one of those since he started excelling in the Heiyumaku Techniques, The Healing Arts.

Stopping at an intersection he had the inkling to make a right turn and he followed this intuition. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out his Cellular device and looked at the screen. The screen was merely showing his lockscreen when in actuality he was using the Spirit Thread Technique to track down someone. Someone who might very well be able to verify these rumors that he has been hearing lately. It was all too unsettling for him and he would soon get some answers.

He walked past a dim alley and onto a open street, He wasn't too far from where he needed to be. Daichi pocketed his cellular device and proceeded casually as foot traffic picked up in the wee hours of the morning. He stopped a moment and looked around, the presence had disappeared and his eyes narrowed. They were on to him and were concealing their presence but why.

Looking around he say a fire escape to a six-story building. He walked over it and started to climb it slowly making his was to the roof top to get another view of the situation at hand. Walking over close tot he edge a chilled breeze caressed his face as he looked out at the neighborhood around him.

He only needed to catch wind of him ever so slightly so that he could have a direction to go in and further his search. Yet all that was in view were the buildings around and a few trees of tree lined tranquil streets. Residential area. Looking up he caught view of the only high rise condo of 12 stories and made his way up there with a great leap. The one with the higher ground usually had the advantage and he did know this quite well. As he walked to the edge he felt the hairs on his neck stand on edge, a reaction to a sudden surprise. His eyes didn't belie how he felt at the moment and his voice spoke calm and steady as he turned around to face the Character.

"You are such a hard man to find Akio Kichiro Yuki," He was actually happy to see this familiar face of the Shinigami.

Sitting on this relatively large building to the humans he stared out as dawn started to break. He had a lot on his mind but he had to manage and he definitely will do that. Things were in such a mess now but like always he would do what ever missions that his was assigned.

Right now his Captain, Harichi Nori of the 7th Division, had assigned him to the mortal realm to keep things in check. He was definitely capable of handling himself and any obstacle that would arise here. So far things were calm for the week that he had been here, a few dozen hollows showed their faces and were quickly dispatched but things weren't too bad, thankfully. Resources were limited and helping hands were even more scarce. Egos were bruised but he always seemed poised and unnerved even though he was.

Akio took a deep breath as his felt a familiar presence approaching. He concealed his reiatsu even further, it wasn't boastful or anything like that. Yet he was traced here, or could it be mere coincidence. Very unlikely.

A moment later the a voice came from behind him, it was friendly and warm in a way. Turning around he caught sight of the Quincy, all wrapped up protecting himself from the chilly weather. Akio walked toward him with a steady pace and inviting smile. " Apparently not hard enough to find if you so easily tracked me down." He pause for a second as if taking in the view of the Quincy, "Its good to see you Elder Kenta." The handshake brought back an abundance of memories of how the two met. Enemies then to Allies, all taboo but it worked out well for them.

Daichi walked towards the Shinigami, Akio Kichiro Yuki and met stuck out his hand giving him a firm handshake. He was pleased to see this Shinigami, someone he knew fairly well and kept things as plain as things can be. No beating around the bush.

With the handshakes all done his expression became a little more serious. He had a few question and wanted them answered and who else would there be to do that. Other Shinigami weren't too found of Quincies and if they spoke to him out of line he usually lost his cool and put them in their place fairly quickly.

Walking over to the edge he looked out at his hometown before speaking frankly. "There has been talk.... well lack of actually. Something is up with you Shinigami, there has been a lack of your presence here in the mortal realm and that's not the only thing that has been weird. Hollows have been running around more freely than before." He paused to let his words sink in a little, not only for Akio's benefit but for his own as well. "Is there something going on that us here in the human real should be aware of or am I just over thinking things. "

His eye narrow as he continued to gaze out at the city, he knew that something was up, something was wrong and his intuition usually didn't lead him astray. Hopefully it wasn't as bad as he thought it was but he was about to find out.

Akio watched as his Quincy Comrades expression became more stern. It was evident that he had something on his mind that he wanted to ask.

As he thought, there was something on the Elders mind and he didn't hesitate to speak his mind freely. He too moved towards the ledge and climbed up with his feet dangling over the edge. Leaning back ever so slightly and looking at the sky Akio couldn't help but sigh. There was no way around this uncomfortable story.

"Well to be honest things are a bit hard right now for my kind.......you can say we are stretched a bit thin actually." Akio paused a moment as he took another deep breathe. "Here is what has happened."

He started to remisness as his story played out. "Battle is battle and where there is evil that wants to disrupt the balance us Death Gods are sent into action. Now some time ago we had entered a cursed forest here in the mortal realm, much details weren't divulge to me due to my duties. My job was to simply to protect the group of Shinigami that I was deployed with. Well I did my duties to a tee but the whole situation was a bit odd. Attacks by the Hollows, Menos Class and Arrancars and a weird creature. From our intelligence and onscence reports it was a living weapon meant to mass produce Arrancars. Nasty thing indeed, I can tell you that from experience but the details of that will be told later."

Akio waited momentarily to see if Daichi had any lingering questions before continuing with his tale.

The Shinigami followed suite and made himself a but more comfortable in the same fashion that he himself took on. His body language seemed to not want to share what he was about to make known. Seemed that he too had suffered his fair amount of stress lately.

Akio Yuki began to speak and the situation was starting to become more clear. It would appear that his intuition was correct, something indeed was a foot with the Shinigami and evidently it was serious. The tone of his voice clarified this assumption of his.

The young Quincy Elder listened intensively to his friend, things were pretty bad and strange according to the Shinigami's account. Nasty thing was a huge understatement. "That is a major handicap for us if they have such weapons at their disposals, gives them a huge advantage.......... Then again you know that." His voice trailed off now remembering that his comrade actually went up against them.

Daichi paused to allow Akio to finish up this story, he wanted to learn what the shinigami had went through and what it would mean for him and his fellow humans.

"Sorry Continue."

Akio's eyes narrowed as his mortal friend reminded him that the creatures would pose a huge advantage for the other team. He knew that well enough and didn't need to be reminded, but he would let it this go.

Clearing his throat he continued. "The Arrancars used this creature and the location to test their invention. That horrid place had so many bound souls tied there due to the way that they died, taking their own lives and all. It was perfect for their experimental creature." The 7th Division Shinigami turned to face the Quincy. ”It breathed in and all the bound souls were forcibly pulled into the pit of the creatures and moments later it spat out hordes of Arrancars. Even though they were incomplete Arrancars, their numbers were quite threatening.”

”At the end of it all the creature was defeated and a war prisoner was captured but I’m not sure how reliable that information is to be honest. The Shinigami were well trained and we dispatched them, the creature was destroyed but we came to know later that it was only a test, seemed that they wanted to test the battle capabilities, collecting data of what occurred before going ahead with the next stage in their plans.”

”WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO GIVE HIM SO MUCH INFORMATION ON WHAT TOOK PLACE IN SUCH DETAIL? THIS IS NOT THE BUSINESS OF MORTALS.”

His zanpakutou was becoming a little restless, ”Because he have the right to know, he is affected by this since us Death Gods are unable to fully perform our duties like we should. We are stretched too thin. Do not worry Kimishima.”

It was all concerning, the feat that the hollows had taken to create such an invention, it was worth commending but now wasn't the time to do such things. They had put it to work in doing evil and such things would be eradicated by the Quincy Code of Conduct.

The more he listened to the Shinigami the more he got upset, those poor souls had now all become creature of darkness by force and the balance would be tipped heavily in the wrong side. Then he heard the good news that they were all dispatched and purified, the balance was regained. Daichi let out a sigh of relief that he had hope went unheard.

At the end of his conversation the creature was destroyed and the Arrancar forces retreated and possibly left one of their own behind. If that part was credible information then that said person would be most likely be kept under lock and key and questioned thoroughly about their plans, tortured even before being put to death. It would be the right move to do to gain some insight on what there were planning to do after such a step.

"I know that you are a very smart Death God, so tell me what do you think they were trying to assess with this test. I surmise that this was a precursor to a bigger attack I would guess." Pushing his glasses onto his face proper his mind reeled with the possibilities of what he just said, what would be the ideal place for the Arrancar to use such a device. He had heard no new of great battle here in the Mortal realm so that could only mean one thing........ "Your World?" the words escaped his lips as the thoughts ran through his mind.
