MW3, my review

I'm gonna keep this pretty brief, because I don't feel like typing too much, and you probably don't feel like reading much. Win-win situation, yes I think so.

Alright, the campaign:

As I expected, nothing really special. It's another run of the mill over-the-top action campaign. The story is nothing spectacular either, but I did think the ending was very well made. Props to the devs for that. But the rest of the campaign was really "meh"

Spec ops:

I have only played a few rounds.
I think the survival is pretty awesome. I thought it would get very repetitive, but it stays interesting for some reason. It's a worthy equivalent to zombies IMO. Again, good job devs.

The Spec ops missions are very similar to the MW2 ones. Nothing special, but it's fun to play trough with a friend.

Multiplayer:
What CoD has come to be about, of course.

I'm rank 40ish and let me start off by saying, that so far, this MP is in my opinion by far superior to the last 2 CoD MP's and maybe even better than the CoD 4 MP. I love it for a CoD game. (I still can't really get into it because I think I've grown out of CoD, and I'm really into BF3 much more, but alright I'll keep this a CoD review). For a CoD game, I think the MP is really great, and if BF3 wouldn't have been out this year, I would probably be playing this until I hit max prestige.

I love the higher bullet damage, this makes for less lag and hit detection bullshit. You see a guy, guy dies, basically. I love it.

The support package is also great for when I'm sucking or raging over something. I just switch over to support and get my killstreaks anyway. Normally I'll use the assault package, and I think the killstreak rewards there are pretty awesome.

Also. I can honestly say ALL the bullshit has been removed from this game. No more OP grenade launchers, no more grenade spam, no more SP, just no bullshit. Killstreaks are also shot down very fast because they will now count to your own killstreak and people actually go for the objectives now, for the same reason, most likely.

I don't think anyone is going to complain about OP weapons either anymore, because all the weapons feel very powerful, and it now simply becomes a matter of personal preference which one you choose. Shotguns may be able to do with a little bit of a buff, though.

The maps are the only thing I'm not too crazy about. They are ALL very small. I'm talking the biggest map may be about the size of Favela MW2. While I actually usually enjoy small maps, I also enjoy some variety. The maps also really don't cater to snipers at all, you are basically forced to quickscope if you're going to use a sniper rifle.

All in all, in my opinion the best CoD MP since MW2, and MAYBE even since CoD4, but I think that if all the grenade clusterfuck was removed from CoD 4 it would still be the best CoD.

Now, audiovisually, as expected, the game is not exactly a masterpiece. The sound quality is similar to the previous games, and many sounds have simply been recycled. The guns sound extremely weak in third person. You could stand next to someone firing a 50. cal sniper rifle and it would sound like popcorn in the microwave. The graphics seem sort of different from MW2, but I can't exactly say better. Just different. The 60 fps is noticable, though. And it makes the game feel pretty smooth. Though there are sometimes some framerate issues. But being used to playing BF3 on Xbox 360 the game really feels like a massive audiovisual downgrade.

So that's my brief review of the game. I might expand it when I feel like it. But that's my honest review for now.

Cheers.

Lovely. I still need to wait a couple more days to get the game. Amazon should always ship it 2 days before release, or even 3 or 4. It takes 4 days to get to where I live, so I would get on the release day.

So far it seems:

People who love MW2 hate MW3
People who love CoD4 love MW3

People who love black ops are dumb.

So which are you?

I love MW2 and MW3, but I prefer MW3, because I like the gold camo (it really should have been featured in MW2) and I like the maps and killstreaks (and the strike packages) better. Sorry guys its morning here so this reply probably sounds stupid but oh well you get my point.
