Welcome to the Iselia Realm. We hope you enjoy your visit.

So you wanna be a master of Pokémon? If you have the skill and patience, Iselia is a region where trainers are challenged to push themselves and strive to reach the elusive Elite Four. In your way, eight gyms, many changes of terrain, along with an evil organization, Team Zodiac, could stand in your way.

We cater to all forms of trainers (coordinators, breeders), but your character can be anything they choose! A doctor, a breeder, you can even join Team Zodiac, or start your own group! While a member of Team Zodiac or the Pokemon Rangers, you can preform missions to rise within the ranks. Although the self-proclaimed goal is to get rich, the real intention is to capture all legendary Pokemon and disrupt the balance of the world. Whose side will you be on?

The leaves cracked under James' black sneakers as he took a deep breath, only to let it out in a long sigh of sorrow. It was not that he regretted running away from home. He simply had to do that. It was the fact that he knew that the full wallet he had at the moment would not last too long as he fed himself and Star. He needed to get a reasonable supply of money, which meant he'd need to join Team Zodiac soon.

The big problem was that it was not just himself anymore. Star, the Shinx was also with him, and he was responsible for what happened to both of them. The fact that he loved the creature did not help. Even if they had never battled.

Speaking of the devil, Star was now rubbing his nose on the boy's right leg trying to get a bit of attention before letting out a cry of boredom. James couldn't blame him, Irelia Hills' flat land wasn't too exciting for himself either.

"I know, mate, it's killing me too, but we have to get strong before we attempt getting recruited. They won't look twice at a boy with an untrained Shinx, you know that." He spoke. The Shinx understood, but it was still a baby, and as such, logic couldn't exactly be applied to it.

Star climbed up its master and sat on his shoulder, licking his right cheek with enthusiasm and happiness. James loved how pokemon just liked people inherently. He himself was not capable of such feat.

"I love you too buddy. Prepare yourself, though. A couple of townies told me that Irelia Hills was a tremendous place to train in. I've heard they have good pokemon here to fight, and maybe even to capture."

Star was excited at first, but as soon as James mentioned capturing, it took a small bite at his ear, making him chuckle.

"Come on, don't be jealous. I'll have to get more pokemon sooner or later. You know you'll always be my number one."
Here, have a good song.

"Come on, don't be jealous. I'll have to get more pokemon sooner or later. You know you'll always be my number one."

"You there! Sir, please remain still!" A voice called out to them. As James turned his head to face whoever had called for him, he detected a strange-looking man. He wore a pair of red-dish pants, a brown shirt, a pair of brown shoes, a red beret and a white, stain-covered apron over all of it. He had a brush in his right hand, with a color palette on his left.

In front of him, there was a wooden tripod, which held a canvas board, where the man was painting.

The whole scene was odd, but James didn't think much of it. Wasting brain cells on something so trivial wouldn't really fit his style.

The man took several looks towards the board, then back to James, and back to the board, eventually growing furious for whatever reason.

"FORGET IT! I GIVE UP! I COME HERE TO IRELIA HILLS IN ORDER TO FIND MY MUSE AND KIDS WITH THEIR POKEMON JUST RUIN IT! I NEED A BATTLE IN ORDER TO CALM DOWN!" The man screeched out with the rage of a thousand suns. James figured it was true what people said, artists held a lot of emotion, every single kind of it.

The man took hold of a pokeball out of nowhere, throwing it out. I figure there's no way to get out of this situation. If I stay, I may be able to earn Star and myself some much needed experience...

"GO, BUNEARY!"
"Star, you know what to do."

The bunny-like pokemon appeared as it exited its spheric home and gave a cry of joy, facing down its opponent with confidence and maybe even...arrogance?

Star hopped off of James' shoulder shooting Buneary an intimidating glare. The Buneary couldn't tell why, but it felt uneasy at that moment, its attacking skill lowering.

I can see that that Buneary and its trainer have at least some sort of experience with each other. However, considering that Star's Intimidation ability came into play, they're roughly the same strength, and since the painter is enraged, he's prone to making mistakes. All I have is to keep my head cool and this will play out nicely...

James' thoughts were quite accurate, revealing his intelligence and practice with strategy-based games, such as chess. He decided to not give Star any orders yet, and rather drag Buneary in.

"Buneary, Pound!" The man ordered, and as such, the bunny started running towards Shinx.

James awaited for it to get closer and closer, until it was about to punch.

"Star, avoid it."

With effect, the small pokemon jumped to the side, easily avoiding the attack due to the fact that the Buneary couldn't turn in time.

"Now, Tackle!"
"Buneary, Splash!"

James smirked as Star went in for the hit. The man was certainly using Splash in order to hit the Shinx's eyes and make it fail and deviate from its trajectory. However...

"Star, close your eyes and keep going, the water from Splash will let you slide forth and hit him harder."

Again, with effect, Star closed its eyes, its paws sliding across the wet terrain as it prepared and crashed into Buneary, sending it flying away.

"Nice hit, come back!"

The Shinx came back victorious for the first round, as Buneary forced itself up.

"Buneary, retreat. Defense Curl!"

The pokemon immediately curled up, attempting to strengthen its defensive skills.

"As if I'd allow that. Star, Leer."

The Shinx directed another glare at the Buneary, making its attempts to toughen up absolutely useless. The painter stiffened with rage.

"We can do this all day. If you want this battle to progress, you'll have to state your move, sir." James spoke to him with a stoic expression, which only served to enrage the man more.

"Buneary, Pound again!" The man commanded. James' eyes narrowed. What's he planning?
"Star, move to the left and wait for it."

The Shinx obeyed as the enemy pokemon came running, with a war-cry escaping from its mouth.

"Dodge and Tackle."

Again, the Shinx managed to dodge the attack, readying itself for the tackle as it kicked off from the ground.

"Buneary, Endure!"

As Star crashed into the Buneary, it absorbed the force and damage, holding itself up and gripping the Shinx, as if aware of what the next move was.

"Circle Throw!"

The Buneary rolled on its back, kicking Star up with its legs and making it flip in the air. However, the move wasn't hard to counter, as Shinx naturally flipped in the air and landed on its four paws, already confident of the result in the battle.

"Star, Buneary's left open right now, attack!"

The Shinx galloped towards the enemy Pokemon, taking care to slide across the water for increased damage before going in for the crash.

"Buneary, Endure!"

James didn't get why the old man was forcing his pokemon to endure the strikes so much until he glanced at the man's face. It was a mixture of panic and rage. These two emotions impeded him from thinking of good, workable strategies. The boy smiled, apparently, the man wasn't as experienced as he had thought.

Star crashed into Buneary with intent, making it carve marks on the floor with the impact as it struggled for staying on foot.

"Now, Buneary, Pound it!"

James fought off the need to chuckle and disregarded the man's orders with a wave of his hand.

"Star, jump back."

With ease, the Shinx was able to out-speed Buneary. It had not spent all its energy running at its enemy, nor had it suffered so many blows and failed so many hits at the same time.

"Don't you see? Your Buneary is in pain and fatigue right now. It cannot keep up its original speed in this situation. Your inability to control your emotions is the poor Buneary's demise."

Then, the boy turned to the Buneary itself.

"I'm sorry that your trainer couldn't use your potential. Star, finish this off with Tackle."

The Shinx gave a loud cry of determination and victory as it sped towards Buneary with intent, ignoring the old man's cries of Endure yet again. Apparently, he did not understand that using that same move twice in a row rarely ever worked.

With effect, Buneary suffered the impact and was sent flying towards its master, knocked unconscious.

"GAAAH, I'M EVEN MORE ENRAGED RIGHT NOW! JUST, JUST GET OUT OF HERE! THE NAME OF ALBERT THE PAINTER WILL NEVER BE RECOGNIZED IF THIS GOES ON..." The man blared as he recalled Buneary into its pokeball.

"GAAAH, I'M EVEN MORE ENRAGED RIGHT NOW! JUST, JUST GET OUT OF HERE! THE NAME OF ALBERT THE PAINTER WILL NEVER BE RECOGNIZED IF THIS GOES ON..."

James shook his head as Albert the painter proceeded with his ramble. An intelligent person would think over the loss and identify the mistakes that had been made in order to correct them. Albert the painter was no Pokemon Professor, apparently, as he seemed to do nothing but complain.

The boy signaled for Star to climb up his body and onto his left shoulder, before rewarding it with a pet on the head and kiss on the forehead too.

"Good job, Star. First battle, first flawless victory. Keep this up and we'll be legends in no time." The young man reassured it, which in turn gave off a loud cry of agreement before they took off once more.

Irelia Hills was boring, no doubt, but no one could really say that it wasn't beautiful. The whole grassy plains were a bundle of activity, life, vitality and beauty. Disliking it was impossible.

However, James didn't get the chance to look around too much, as he walked and the prospect of a new battle revealed itself.

A few meters away from himself stood a strange creature. It stood on two, long, thin legs with three talons on the ends of each. Its body was a big, brown bush. On the other end, it had two long, thin necks and small, brown heads with menacing beaks.

As James activated his Pokedex, his suspicions were confirmed. Doduo... A Normal/Flying type pokemon. It didn't seem very powerful or experienced, but James did not let appearances distract him. Doduo could be a worthy opponent yet.

"Star, we're not going to catch this one. Instead, we're going to fight it and see how much we improve. Understand?" He asked, receiving an agreeing cry from the Shinx as it jumped from his shoulder and onto the ground.

By now, the Doduo itself had detected them, and was preparing itself in order to attack.

With effect, it sped forth, both beaks shining as the Pokedex blared the pokemon's abilities.

"Doduo is capable of using Peck, Growl and Quick Attack as a wild pokemon." It said as the pokemon attempted to use its beak and harm the Shinx.

"Star, dodge it." It wasn't too hard to dodge, as the move was pretty visible. "Tackle it."

The Shinx crashed into Doduo, making it slide a few meters, but nothing more than that. Both were probably at an equal level of skill. However, Star had an advantage: someone was giving him the orders, while the Doduo had to act on instinct. Depending on the skill of the trainer, this could be the advantage required for victory or the hindrance that caused defeat.

The Doduo was preparing itself for another round, and suddenly, both heads growled out, attempting to intimidate the Shinx and force its attack skill down.

"Leer and lower their defenses."

The Shinx glared at the bird, effectively forcing it to feel uneasy enough to drop its guard slightly. James smiled, the match was on their favor, as the Doduo was suffering from Shinx's Intimidation and Leer, coupled with a tackle's worth of damage, while Star only had a Growl on him.

The bird seemed to realize the fact that proceeding with the Growl battle would be useful, and so, it attempted another strategy.

Both heads took a deep breath and let out a screech that James would learn to detest. He quickly resorted to his Pokedex for an explanation.

"Some well-bred Doduo are able to perform a more complex attack, Supersonic. This attack may confuse the enemy pokemon, sometimes forcing them to hit themselves."

James let out a "tssk" of frustration. It appeared that the Doduo wasn't a common pokemon in any way.

"Star, Leer!" He figured that if he couldn't send his pokemon on the attack, he'd still be able to lower the Doduo's defenses further.

The Doduo had no intention of staying in place, though, and as soon as they shivered under Star's glare, they sped forth in a motion that James identified as Quick Attack.

They crashed into Star, sending him flying back and stumbling through the ground until it could make use of its agility and get back on its paws.

"Good boy, Star. Hang on, there!" James knew that he had to do something or any advantage in the world would be of no help.

"Leer again!"

The Doduo decided that it should go first, and used Quick Attack again, striking Star with strength, sending it flying away again.

However, the Shinx got up once more and glared at the animal, making sure to lower its defenses for the third time. This way, he'd be able to deliver massive damage.

Since they were relatively close, James was able to notice that the Doduo was using a different move. He didn't need to call the Pokedex, as it immediately started its explanation.

"Doduo has learned to use the move Confide, which lowers a pokemon's special attack by telling them a secret and knocking their concentration off."

James allowed a smirk to climb onto his face. This was the difference between a master-less pokemon and a master's pokemon. They had no idea what to do. He didn't require special attack at the moment for any reason, and knocking concentration off of Star's mind would clear out the earlier Confusion.

"Star, Tackle, now!"

The Shinx obeyed, surprising the Doduo as it slammed into the pokemon, sending it tumbling through the ground. The Doduo was so shocked with the Shinx's sudden recuperation that James felt it could outspeed it.

"Again, Tackle!"

And again, Star crashed into the Doduo. Both pokemon were a mess by then, but it was clear that Star was the current victor.

It didn't matter the fact that Star had taken a couple of Quick Attacks. Doduo's attack stat was lower than normal, and the pokemon itself had taken three tackles, two of them under special circumstances, such as low defense stats.

The Doduo growled in a futile attempt to make its opponent's hits less hurtful, but it was for naught.

"Finish it off, Star." James commanded, and immediately, the Doduo was sent flying through the grass, landing on a spot of it, unconscious.

"Good job! Let's get you to a pokemon Center."
