I live in Queens so I always go to Rags - Isles games at MSG. Used to be alot of fun cause youd get a lot of grief if you wore Islander colors. But the last 6 or 7 years its totally different. Never hear a peep from anyone. Its ALOT of corporate suits and even women in their power suits barely even paying attention to the game. Anyway I'd go but after the lockout I vowed to not pay for a hockey ticket again, at least for the next few years. For those of you interested though I highly recommend it, and feel free to wear your Isles' jerseys.

Jagr scored twice on two-man power plays in the Rangers' 4-0 victory

if we get half the penalties we got on monday were in trouble

and i read this off TSN good read

Quote:

''I've been close before, so it felt good to get this one,'' Lundqvist said. ''We played well the whole game. The guys played really well in front of me and that allowed me to focus on my game. The whole team is confident. We're having a lot of fun.''

FUN.... I WANNA HAVE FUN!!!!

Quote:

''We had a good transition game and passed the puck up quickly,'' Rangers coach Tom Renney said. ''We got the puck behind people and deep. The best way to beat the trap is not let it set up.''

I HOPE sterling reads this!!!

This was off the MSG website, and it really doesn't bode well.

STANDINGS (through Oct. 17): Islanders - 4 points, 3rd place (tied), 6 PB, Atlantic Division. Rangers - 10 points, 1st place, Atlantic Division.

TEAM LEADERS: Islanders - Jason Blake, 3 goals; Oleg Kvasha, 4 assists; Blake, Kvasha and Alexei Yashin, 4 points; Eric Godard, 17 PIM. Rangers - Jagr, 6 goals and 10 points; Martin Straka, 9 assists; Darius Kasparaitis, 16 PIM.

SPECIAL TEAMS (through Oct. 17): Islanders - Power play: 11.4 percent (4 for 35), 24th in NHL. Penalty killing: 88.6 percent (39 for 44), 7th. Rangers - Power play: 23.4 percent (11 for 47), 6th. Penalty killing: 91.4 percent (43 for 47), 4th.

GOALTENDERS: Islanders - Snow (1-1-0, 3.95 GAA); DiPietro (1-2-0, 3.17). Rangers - Lundqvist (3-0-1, 1 SO, 1.24); Weekes (1-1-1, 3.32) or Chris Holt (no appearances).

2003-04 SEASON SERIES: Rangers, 6-0.

LAST MEETING: Feb. 26, 2004; Rangers, 6-3. At Uniondale, N.Y., Jagr had two goals and an assist as Renney won in his first game after taking over for Glen Sather.

And the other thing that now scares the living daylights out of me????? Darius.... Freakin' hip check King Kasparaitis.

I loved him when he was on the Islanders so many years ago. I was very sad to see him go. Now all I can think of is if he takes Blake out of either of these games I will hunt him down and destroy him.

DiPIETRO SET TO START IN GARDEN
10/19/2005

Rick DiPietro is expected to start in goal as the Islanders begin a home-and-home series with the Rangers on Wednesday night.

The Islanders are coming off their worst loss of the early season, a 5-1 setback in Philadelphia on Saturday night and have had two detailed practices to make adjustments and prepare for an impressive Rangers team.

"These games are very important," said Islanders head coach Steve Stirling. "The Rangers are playing extremely well, and we haven't. We need to make a mark."

TONIGHT'S GAME
The Islanders (2-3-0-0) look to end their nine-game winless streak (0-7-2) against the New York Rangers tonight at Madison Square Garden.  The Islanders, who have lost six consecutive games to the Rangers, have not defeated the Blueshirts since March 25, 2002, when they won 4-2 at the Nassau Coliseum.  The last time the Islanders won at Madison Square Garden was on November 23, 2002 (3-1 win).  Since then, the Islanders are winless in their last five (0-4-1) visits to the Garden.

Overall, the Islanders have a lifetime record of 84-88-19-1 against the New York Rangers. At home, the Islanders have a record of 54-33-8-1, while in 96 regular season visits to Madison Square Garden, they have a record of 33-52-11-0.  In 2003-04, the Islanders lost all six regular season meetings to the Rangers.

The Islanders and Rangers will complete the home-and-home series tomorrow night at the Nassau Coliseum.  The Islanders are back on the road this weekend as they visit the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday at the Molson Centre.  Following the game against Montreal, the Islanders will play four of their next five games at the Nassau Coliseum.
