7th, your floppy hat is a classic. Like I said I could hook you up with another 1/2 dozen.

And I wish I was wearing an NYIC tee shirt for the picture. :o

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

1. Made the Pre-Game telecast
2. Met Deb and took a pic with her
3. AND THE ISLES WON!!!

I'm very superstitious Webby....guess you'll have to repeat this at the next home game!!!

Kerry from the Islanders sent out a short poem with the game notes tonight, and it inspired me...

The wind and the rain swept across the Southern State,
But it didn't deter me from reaching the Coliseum gate.

Schedules and weather kept my family from going,
But nothing was going to stop ME from showing!

These tickets are paid for, there's gas in the car.
I'll drag a friend with me, 40 miles isn't THAT far!

I exceeded the speed limit in my 7th Woman Ford,
I had to meet my friends from the NYIC message board.

They saved me a spot right up by the glass
We giggled and pointed when Janne missed his pass.

Webby was in heaven as his camera he showed me,
A photo of Deb Kaufman and our own beloved Webb20!

I pointed out all our best players to my friend, the neophyte
She nodded and smiled and asked if there'd be a fight.

I saw our boy Goddard was in the line up tonight.
I smiled back at her and said, "Yeah, there just might."

The buzzer sounded, back into the tunnel they went,
The lights went up, to our seats we were sent.

60 minutes of Islanders hockey, and even a win!
Screw the damn rain! What a night it has been!

Dee

ok, ok....

I left out the verse about being Jason's Stalker. It'll all be in the book.

Good Night SigEp, 7th and the rest of you. It's been a long day, but a very satisfying one.

And most importantly we got 2 points.

A pair of goals by Ilya Kovalchuk pulled the Thrashers within a goal, but a pair by Alexei Yashin gave the Islanders the win, as Rick DiPietro stopped 33 shots for a 4-3 win at the Coliseum.

A hooking penalty on Atlanta's Greg de Vries put the Islanders on the powerplay early, allowing two quick chances. One came off Miroslav Satan's attempted redirect of a Chris Campoli blast from the point, while the other came on an odd bounce behind the Thrashers' net. A dump-in took a wicked left turn behind the goal, ending up on Thrashers goalie Adam Berkhoel's right post, while he guarded the left side. No Islander could get to the puck in time though, and the game remained scoreless.

The line of Kovalchuk, Patrik Stefan and Marian Hossa put the pressure on the Islanders in their own zone, drawing a slashing penalty by Tomi Pettinen. Atlanta got several chances on goal, but couldn't put the puck in the net. They pushed their lead in shots to 2-to-1 though, thanks to another defensive penalty, this time by Radek Martinek. Despite the frequent opportunities, they found themselves without a goal, and almost without Kovalchuk, who went down hard in front of DiPietro's crease, and left the ice for a few shifts.

Having served his sentence, Martinek got the offense started for the Islanders with a fine defensive play, as he picked-off a two-zone pass by de Vries at the Islanders' blueline, and hit Arron Asham with a long-range pass of his own. A nifty fake by Yashin drew two defensemen to the right side of the ice, freeing up Asham for a give-and go with Miroslav Satan, who buried a wrister for his seventh of the season.

Atlanta was able to contain the hosts for most of the first, until the final six minutes, when the line of Robert Nilsson, Petteri Nokelainen and Eric Godard created some chances in the offensive zone, thanks to some sharp playmaking by Nilsson. It was followed by a reversal of fortune late in the first period, that saw the Islanders go from killing a powerplay to enjoying a 5-on-3 advantage, in the span of less than a minute. Despite the man-power difference, the song would remain the same, as Satan was unable to put away a pair of point-blank chances from in-close on the right side of Berkhoel's net.

DAMN I missed seeing U guys on TV...but I did see sign guy !!! He totally threw Deb off for a second with his awesome "Stirling Silver" sign...he got a decent amount of face time too.
decent game I might add....I think we will be much better once we can start taking less penalties...18 minutes shorthanded is absurd.
