Well it wouldnt happen in a million years I guess, BUT....if Luongo decides to walk away from sunny F-L-A....the new GM could try to correct MM's blunder. Id love to look foward with Luongo as my goalie instead of Ricky lol.

Was "No Looking Back" not explanatory??????

You've never been divorced, have you?

Ok.. here's the deal. When people have a bad taste in their mouth from a situation, even if they try to get back to that place, there's always a level of animosity that can't be overcome, and then ultimately, failure.

no no...

I'd really hate to harp on this topic... but.. I'd much rather have Ricky over Roberto.

At the time, was it a bad trade to make? Absolutly but now that we are here, I'd rather have Ricky.

You're crazy, and I mean that in a playful way, but still, you're crazy.

oh boy...
then I'm crazy too.
I didn't like Roberto then... and ... believe it or not... I don't like him now either.

Moody thing he is. And I just don't trust him.

Give me Mr. Personality, and just let him grow up a little. Rico will be as good as Broduer... one day... hopefully... before I'm dead...but one day.

At this point, to each his own because it really is too early to tell who will end up with the better career. We can speculate and form/judge opinions on the two through what we have seen so far and also taking current stats into consideration but neither one of these guys have delivered anything to their clubs just yet.

I would then have to ask you how many times you have watched Luongo play, because the man is positionally sound and he takes up the net the way Patrick Roy did. With Luongo we would be in a playoff spot, not looking from the outside, with him we would instantly be that much closer to being a legit cup contender.

Someone said this before, when the new GM comes in, I would love for him to take a stab at Luongo and send Rick packing if I had the choice.

The fact is we didn't need Rick, the fact is we needed a marque player and we could've had Heatley or Gaborik and for a fraction of the price Alexei cost and no disgusting long term contract to hold this franchise back. The fact is we also traded away a top centermen in Jokinen who is better than any faceoff taker since Peca was here. And the embarrassing fact is we have nothing to show for that trade with both the players we got who are about 2,000-3,000 miles away.

Milbury is the exact opposite of what Torrey was to this franchise.

I remember on another Islander board I used to visit back when Jokinen was on the Isles, all these people couldn't wait for the team to get rid of him. Now we'd take him back in a heartbeat. Who Knew :dontknow:

Now you are putting the entire loss of the season on Ricky which is ... well... ignorant, sorry to say. Had you said, Yashin, well.. I'd have a harder time saying you're crazy. But even beyond that, this team has been a coaching nightmare since training camp. Look no further than that for the reason of failure.

Luongo also has a hard time with controlling rebounds but regardless, we all know that Roberto is a step ahead of Ricky, including maturity. But this is something that can be taught and with the proper coaching won't be a problem.

Down the line, I believe that Ricky will be the better goaltender for this club, I like his winning attiutde, the competitve edge, he posseses leadership qualties, he's very vocal, probably the only guy that actually opens his mouth constantly.

Why would they have wanted to 86 Luongo? I remember him and Milbury having a rift about salary, but I don't remember it being something where you could say RL was the bag guy.

Maybe Roberto was having a good time with Mad Mike's daughter also?

Only if you're under 20.... If not... try to remember there were reasons to pull away in the FIRST place. And those reasons don't go away.

and that holds true for ANY situation. Sometimes sentimentality clouds the truth, the reasons you dumped (or got dumped) in the first place.

Lugano didn't show us any real spark when he was between the pipes at the Coliseum... or at least... I can't remember seeing any.... but then again... I can't remember Friday.

Oh well...

OK, you need to stay out of my head. It's getting too crowded in there, what with you now and those 2 brain cells hanging on for dear life!
