The latest from the Maven:

Quote:

Suddenly, the Islanders kids (Sean Bergenheim, Jeff Tambellini, et. al.) look so good, it makes one wonder whether Charles Wang might reconsider his plan to move Mike Milbury out of the g.m. slot. Then again, with his Bruins looking for a g.m., might Harry Sinden consider Milbury for Mike O’Connell’s vacated desk?

Not only does he suggest that Charles Wang ought to reconsider keeping Milbury for GM, completely forgetting the last ten years of absolute failure and no playoff wins, he says that the Bruins ought to consider Milbury for their open spot, replacing one moron with a bigger one. Oh Stanley, you never cease to amaze me.

You know what time it is... yeaaaa booy!
MM had the opportunity to succeed Sinden, it was common knowledge that MM was being groomed to take over the B's. He bolted for the Isle rather than wait another year or two for Sinden to step down. I still think that Sinden held out on retiring a bit longer because now he had to groom O'Connell.

I don't see the B's asking him back, nor do I see MM wanting to be under Sinden's thumb. If MM wanted that, he would have stuck with Boston and become a GM for Boston rather than the Isles head coach in 1995.

Could be, but I wouldn't give Stan that much credit. I think he believes the majority of the crap that spews out of his mouth.

"We're not in a bind at all," Burke said. "I'd say of the 29 teams, we don't talk to Edmonton, so of the 28 other teams, there's plenty of interest in making this predicament go away. I could hang up the phone and solve this."
