So lets see here, just to have a little fun, we could bring back:

Forwards-
Martin Straka, NY Rangers
Mark Parrish, Los Angeles
Michael Peca, Edmonton
Oleg Kvasha, N.Y. Islanders
Brad Isbister, Boston

Defense-
Zdeno Chara, Ottawa
Wade Redden, Ottawa
Bryan McCabe, Toronto
Kenny Jonsson, N.Y. Islanders
Dick Tarnstrom, Pittsburgh

Goalies-
Chris Osgood, Detroit
Wade Flaherty, Vancouver

Thats half a team right there. All ExIsles. On second thought, I wouldnt touch any of those guys except maybe a few of those defensemen.

i'd only consider the top 4 d-men and that it.
"We're not in a bind at all," Burke said. "I'd say of the 29 teams, we don't talk to Edmonton, so of the 28 other teams, there's plenty of interest in making this predicament go away. I could hang up the phone and solve this."

I agree with Eric. But I do doubt that any of them would come here unless we overpay.

being realistic...the only guy besides a suitable defenseman to anchor our powerplay...
I want Yanic Perreault. I wantd him signed this past off-season and was laughed at.
The guy may be in his mid 30's but he would be the perfect BRIDGE to the new era of developing young centers (O'Marra, Nilsson and Colliton).
Perreault wins face offs, is a great set-up pivot and he's very cagey on the powerplay.
Watching him play with Nashville this year, his skating hasn't declined and he'd be affordable should York not be brought back.

We can dream and debate about Sakic, Chara, Redden and others but we need to be alot more realistic.
