So i have been thinking about this all morning and wanted to get it out there. Is it just me or does anyone else feel a shift in the organization this year and thier ability to take th e"next step". Not only with wins but in respect and how they function?

Listen we can't ignore the fact that thei entire organization has been in damage control and damage avoidence going back to the sweep at the hands to the Rangers back in 94. Al retired, Spano, and all the other things that have happend just ruind this teams credibility.

When wang took over it was one step, it at least gave this organization a foundation. But then we had to deal with the balence of our finances and a GM who was trigger happy. Milbury did what he could and what he thought was right, and we can blame him for some poor moves but we should also credit him for at least producing a team that made the playoffs and got some interest back.

Now that he is gone and Snowy is making some very shrewd moves i just feel a sense of respect coming back. That players just don't roll thier eyes anymore and say i don't want to be ther. Couple him with Nolan and we are adding to the foundation. Good owner, smart GM (BTW i never thought i would say that about Snowy), good coach who players love that is the beging stages.

Al Arbours night seemed to be a turning of the page. For too long we have hated out present and wished for the past. Maybe now we can reflect on the past, love or present and look forward to the future?

Klynch, in my review of the night in the Al Arbour game thread I felt and said much the same things. You are right. All the wrongs that this organization did from the Milsteins thru milbury/Yashin have been erased. This is an organization to be proud of and it's hats off to all the good people working there.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Boss, your out of your mind if you think Kyle is our next step to success. If he was anything spectatcular, not that im saying hes not up to par but he would have most likely have got a stronger offer from the Islanders to play right now. Let's just be realistic, that one guy im not putting all my eggs in his basket (no homo). Now if you use the team work of Tambalini, Nilson, O'Mara, Okposo, Bergs, Comeau, Guthrie, Frans I would be so excited for the future. But two main products of them exist on different teams. I cant wait for Kyle to come up, but let's be realistic.

There is a sense of turning a corner, yes,but all the good sentiment is worth nothing if there is another early playoff exit or worse. We're excited but after all we're Islander fans and we're tempered just as much.

Ted's established his system, the players believe they can win every night and Garth and the front office have proven that their kind of techniques can produce winning results.

Yes. AA night will have lasting effects and I believe we're on our way!
