I think i'll be dead by the time this place goes up...

I went to the Devils/Flyers game last night at the Devils new barn...I'm quite impressed, good sight lines too. too bad no one was there to watch the game..But anyway, I hope when they rebuild the coliseum, they dont turn our barn into the damned Bell Centre.

But they aren't rebuilding it, which is good. They are dropping the ice surface down 5ft and then adding luxury boxes between the 300's and 200's. They also say by dropping the ice surface down they will be able to make a second concourse for food and shops, relieving some of the traffic on the only concourse currently.

It'll still be the old barn just with a little work done on the inside and an extreme makeover on the outside.

Once again, where the hell would I park? And where is hempstead turnpike in relation to this?

That flat, gray thing on the left is a huge parking garage.

as i am from queens, this news is not really a big thing in the post or daily news, but has newsday ever mentioned if there will be public transportation available next to the renovated arena? i think a LIRR stop or the like would be a huge asset for the Islanders whenever they rebuild/redevelop

Who needs a baseball field there? Leave some outside parking spaces for tailgating.

A parking garage???Don't we have enough trouble getting out after games, as it is?

Although, if you stay late after everyone is gone...you get out easier.

whatever....

JUST DO IT already.

from what i heard about the ROCK is the sound does not travel down from the crowd? is that true?

I sat in front of there "hard hat crew" and one over from the guy who chants "give me a D-e-v-i-l-s, lets go devils!" when your sitting behind loud people, it sounded kinda loud..But nothing beats the noise in the Nassau Coliseum 16,000+ of us chanting "lets go islanders!"....nothing sweeter!!

whereee will we tailgate?!      :dontknow:  its very important.

Inside the parking garage?? It will be a lot easier for people to know our location. "I'm on level 3 row 6" Rather than "Look for me and my funnel around pole #6" :punk:

You'll be able to tailgate, rain or shine.

Additionally, to have a LIRR line stretched to NVMC, you will require the NYS govt and the MTA to be involved. If you thought Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead were slow to act on this.....

Let's just say I hope my grandchildren will be able to see it completed.

JUST DO IT already.

It will just encourage people to stay late after playoff wins and booze it up some more since you can't get out of the lot right away. Nothing like encouraging DWI I guess.

Hopefully, they will have the foresight to have multiple exits from the parking garage and the road will be blocked off so those leaving will be able to come right out without delays.

or park at NCC...

Can you still park at NCC? I remember at the end of last season I heard a rumor that the college was going to start ticketing the cars there. I have been afraid to park there ever since. Has anybody parked there this year? Is it still safe? I loved parking there. Besides saving the $7 to SMG, you get out of the parking lot so much quicker; although sometimes you may freeze on the way to your car.

I heard that NassauCountyCriminalAttorneys.Com will offer a free consultation with every used game ticket....
