I love the ice skating rink right outside the arena. They have to keep the amazing Coliseum sight lines in tact somehow!!!!

You mean when you're sitting in the high 300's and you have to duck down to see the scoreboard?

GENERALLY, the building has terrific sightlines. But the top of the 300s definitely needs better sightlines to the scoreboard!

I love this plan but i have ZERO faith that the Nassau Coutny and Hempstead Town officials will do anything that makes sense and does something to actually help the entire comunity.

I liked the last plan better. This one seems too congested.

:isles:

JUST BUILD IT. I am soooo tired of listening to govt officals hem and haw over this. I remember when I was a kid it took YEARS before NMVC got luxury boxes. The Isles wanted them added and everyone in the NHL had them but it took the Isles and extra 4-5 years. Heck, I remember when those metal seats weren't there above each of the gates. They weren't added until 1978 I think.

If you are needing to find ways to add seats and not doing an effective job...AND IT IS 30 FREAKING YEARS LATER, then it is time to build a new stadium.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

I agree enough with all the talking and hearings and all that other crap. Just do something about the Coliseum already

It's about time some of these politicans stood up and say "Yes this is Long Island, and we are Long Islanders and we are proud of our Island". It's time to stop living in our deteriorating memories of what made Long Island glorious and look ahead. It's time to say we made people want to move here, live here, be part of this great place in the '50s and '60s and it's time we do it again and build an area we can all be proud of once again and be the ones people point to as the model of what they want their community to be like.

There is too much living in the past here and the present is leaving fast. It was innovative minds like Levitt, Grumman and Moses that had visions of what this Island and it's greatest resource, it's people, could become. It's time to do it again. What would've happened if those visionaries were squashed by community outcry or political road blocks?

It's very frustrating watching a guy like Wang with visions of greatness and a genuinie love for Long Island, like those before him, be squashed for people who long for when it was great here. Open your eyes people, greatness is ahead, why are you looking back?

I don't even think that's as bad as some other arenas. Ever sit behind the net at the Garden in the 400's. You can't see the goalie on the side of the ice you are sitting!!! I'd rather see that then the scoreboard...and those tix are $40 each!!!

To answer the other question, if you look at the plans on Newsday's site, they are planning on building a public skating rink right outside. Looks cool.

I've looked at them and read the articles but can't see what your refering too. I know there will be 4 sheets of ice in the building next to the refurb'ed barn but I haven't seen an outside skating rink....oh well...lets just get it done already!
