The biggest Defensive liability that causes breakaway goal after goal, Shoots into Shinpads on every PP, and is guaranteed to make at least 4 bad plays a game. |

Put the Cup Back in Our Lobby Where It Belongs

We lose our first game in five and suddenly our fastest skater and hardest shot, the guy who revived our powerplay from the dead last year and has it cruising along (#3 in the league this season) is a bum? C'mon, I'll be the first to admit that Bergeron lacks hockey sense and is not a great defenseman . . . but, please, gimme a break. You seem to have him confused with Niinimaa or something. |

EXACTLY. They won't get an argument from me that MAB was lousy tonight. He was. HOWEVER, are they also going to start a thread about Chris Campoli???? He was the WORST ISLANDER ON THE ICE TONIGHT and that is saying something because MAB wasn't stellar either. The second goal was SOLEY Campoli's fault AND the third goal was as much Campoli's fault as MAB's. The first goal was completely TAnk's fault. So I don't know where the "MAB was responsible for 2 goals tonight" idea comes from. He wasn't the reason for 1 and 2. It is one loss. Relax. It was his worst game of the post-benching. Hopefully, he plays well until Berard returns. One loss in 5 games and nearly the whole team fails to show and people want to blame oneguy. Unbelieveable. |

I just think that with a step backwards as the PP QB (It is not as if that has been the reason for our wins) then he really has a low ceiling. Teams now are taking a different approach to him (not just tonight, but tonight was clear) then he won't fit in. Not with our system, not with the way he telographs shots, not with his uncertatinity. |

Bergeron caused about 3 2-1 or breakaway chances tonight and the game winning goal. That alone made him the worst player on the ice. I was one of the people defending him earlier in the year when everyone was riding on him. I had a thread on it saying give him time. Time hasnt done anything as he constantly makes dumb decisions. Ted should really consider throwing him on offense. |

Also I will say that some people even when Islanders were winning mentioned him or other teams having scoring chances with him on the ice, or him looking weaker on the PP. |

MAB is still Okay in my book (though i think right now he's not cutting it, anymore). Campoli, though, jeeze that was a freakin stinker performance. |

He didn't cause a single breakaway tonight so I don't know where your count is coming from. Considering DP faced 2 breakaways and Campy-Bruno were on the ice for both... |

Yeah, what he said. And considering this is the 'Official' thread of MAB suckage, you probably should've spelt his name right. Marc-Adre Bergeron. (directed at whoever conjured up this thread) |

I don't know what some of you were watching, but the Second goal was because Gervais and Upshall made contact and Bruno lost his footing, falling and giving Upshall a shot in alone. The short handed goal was the result of Vasicek getting knocked off the puck which caused an odd-man break out when the puck left the zone. Did MAB shoot the puck into shinpads? Yes. Did the puck leave the zone. Yes, but in many cases he managed to get back. What really needs to happen is they need to start working on a different power play when it's blatantly obvious to everyone your going to pass to Bergeron. There are many teams who play a very tight box and don't let a single shot get through while a man down. The coaching staff should see this and make adjustments on the fly - I don't know why we continue to do the same things game after game. Ricky also needs to settle down a bit on the home-run passes.....because the last attempt pretty started the play that died and lead to a shortie. One loss and you guys start this crap already? |

Quoi? Putting MAB on offense would be interesting, but we'd never see that cannon during a regular shift. |

Winning creates greater expectations which causes the losses to hurt more. I thought we played fine for the most part and probably outplayed the Flyers, but too many mistakes burned us. DP looked a little shaky too even though he can't be soley blamed on any of the goals. He seemed to be flopping around a bit, which he has avoided for the most part this year. |

"Ted Nolan" type player
|
MAB has played better since his benching and Ill be the first to admit that. He was disgusting tonight however, soley responsible for that brutal pinch leading to the GWG and for constantly taking his predictable howitser right into kneepads all night. While 9/10 days mab will help the powerplay more than hurt it, you cant deny that a healthy Barard helps the PP more than Bergeron AND, a healthy Berard makes Bergeron the 7th best defensman on this roster, a role usually reserved for a fill in guy with a physical/ defensive game NOT a guy with a booming slapshot, raw speed and a hockey IQ slightly above that of Janne Ninimaa. |
