Maybe he needs 1 1/2 years of conditioning at Bridgeport.
I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

OK, let's take bets on the over/under for when Bates gets hurt again.

1st shift? 2nd shift? 3rd shift? Trips over the boards on way to ice and never takes a shift...pops groin yet AGAIN......done until next season?

I choose the last one.
John Tavares was 2 years old the last time NYI won a playoff series

If I'm not mistaken :letssee:

Bates has been on the Islanders longer then any other current Islander :o

Which in turns makes him the face of the Islanders :isles: = :argh:

Since Bates has had so much time recovering from his swollen groin

He has developed his slap shot to be faster then Mark Andre Bergeron :argh:

I say the Islander practice on ITV from the other day and he was skating hard and he was doing a great job! I know I am one of hte few Bates fans but he looked good.... maybe some time down in bridgeport will do him good! :D

He is, however, the only remaining player from the vicious Islanders-Maple Leafs seven-game series, which is pretty scary. Out of all the forwards and defensemen from that team, the only guy still around is the penalty shot hero, whose career has since been in a freefall.

Technically, I guess you can count Hunter though. And our backup goalie-turned-GM.

I can't claim the same.... I grew weary and frustrated with late, bad penalties and an abundance of shots way-wide of the goal. So I'm not anxious to see his return.

Nevertheless, I trust in whatever Nolan decides to do.

DiPiEtRogRl39, it took "coulioņes grandes" to state your loyalty in this thread. You show a lot of class.

It's a good thing to be a fan of ANY particular Islander. Don't let anyone back you down!

Bates scored a goal versus Hershey last night in a 6-3 loss.... and not surprisingly was called for a hooking penalty.
