Hustle is one thing, what to do once you've beaten a guy to the puck or laid a hit is completely different.   The guy has little hockey sense, is terrible in his own zone, and shows no poise with the puck, none.   Other than an chip pass can you recall him actually making a play in the offensive zone with the puck?

I'll give you hustle, he's got that, like a tot on steroids, but what has he done with it?  :dontknow:

Show the guy some patience. He is still a young player, and there is a lot of room for improvement. Bergie was a point-per-game player last year in Europe, so I think with time, his hands and hockey sense will improve. Bergie was never projected to be a 50-goal scorer, but with time, he can be an awesome two-way forward.

As the old adage goes, energy, hustle, and enthusiasm can't be taught, as we saw with the Yashins, Kvashas, and Isbisters that have all worn Isles jerseys.

I wont have much more patience for him. He's been up and down for years, and had a season in Sweden. We are not talking about a 19 year old wet behind the ears.

If he doesnt find his stride soon we'll need to __________ . You fill in the blank.

Well, we heard it from the horse's mouth, coach Nolan: "We don't give up on anybody."

I have to think we'll see him tonight.

The question is do we go with 7 dmen again and sit Bergenheim or do we sit one of the defense?

Why sit Bergenheim?

He's the one that's contributed the least of late and Satan's absence from the score sheet (goals and assists) coincide with Bergie's return to that line.

If it were up to me he'd be the one I'd give a seat in the owners box. Lucky for Bergie it's not up to me.

Personally, if Bates is coming back tonight, I'd sit Bergie and move Park to the Vas-Satan line and let Bates center the 4th line. I'd also go with the 7 dmen again. It worked well for a few games earlier this year and didn't do badly v. Boston. It gets MAB playing time on the PP but not that much on 5 on 5 so that you can gage if he's "getting it" and if he isn't, he sits.

Love Bergie's hustle, but he's turning into the Andy Hilbert of point production.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

Love Bergie's hustle, but he's turning into the Andy Hilbert of point production.

But Andy sort of gets away with it because he creates chances for others working the boards once he hustles in there. I wouldn't want to sit him though but if they are so hard up for Bates to get in the lineup one night couldn't hurt, we know we can't go with 7 D-Men for most games and so Bergie will play most nights.
