go ahead--

u a ranger or islander fan?

I'm an Islander.

But, maybe someone is a Ranger fan?

... not that there is anything wrong with that.

See, there was this time in college. We had too much to drink, one thing led to another and the next thing you know my buddy and I, well... let's just say that he let something cross his lips that he didn't expect... :fear:

a cheer for the Rangers.

Now, as for any Ranger fans reading this board, go back to your boards and talk your crap.
Your boy Avery is a dirtbag, as is Hollpig as is the rest of that ugly uniform wearing sack of S
of a team, as is every NYer that wears that bozo the clown uniform.

Everyone associated with the Rag$ (media, fans) makes excuses for this clown. Was listening to J Dellapina during last night's NYR-NJD game and he said if Avery made fun of Blake's cancer it's not so bad, not like if he made fun of Blake's family but just an ailment. I couldn't believe my ears.

This is the same guy who spit at the Ice Girls too. Sherry Ross called him a jerk who can play.

Are you kidding me? He's almost as classless as Avery for saying that. Didn't make fun of his family - should he get an award for not doing so? "Just an ailment"? How about if you were afflicted with this ailment? Would your opinion be different?

Sherry Ross had it right.

This is from the same org that got rid of Spreewell because he was embarassing them with his behavior. Hypocrites, I tell ya. Hypocrites.

Nowhere did I make any "excuses" for Avery. In fact, if you go back I said if he DID say it, it's disgusting. However, like another poster said, many things like this and worse have been, and will be, said on the ice. Does that make it right? No, but that's sports.

However, my point was, the evidence points to the fact that he DID NOT say it. And while many may hate Avery and his antics, to falsey accuse him of this is a whole other level.

Not lookin to stir the pot, just taking the facts and words from those involved and trying to draw and intelligent conclusion.

I am a Rangers fan and understand anytime I post an opinion it shall be critiqued, and rightfully so.

I appreciate this board, like many others, because of the other angle I get from it. I see things about Islanders players and brass, that I wouldn't find elsewhere.

I am not trying to convince anybody to like me, just enjoying this great sport, it's fans, and all it has to offer.

I am a diehard fan, but have also seen and done many things in my life that allow me to see the big picture and what is truly important.

Anyways, tonight should be a great night of hockey.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Im pretty sure avery didnt have any cancer remarks. Howard Berger is about as credible as Sean Avery. I also believe that avery is a big enough d-bag that he would have admitted it and been proud had he said anything anyway.

And NYPD, tell your buddies in the force to check the phone numbers before they call. I got a voicemail for someone looking for a guy I have never heard of when my voicemail message clearly states my name, in my feminine voice.

You hate them because they are rude. Some of them (not all of them) mock Ted Nolan with their tomahawk chop in pregame warmups -- this is why. There are other reasons too.

First off Queen, thanks for the hospitality. And believe me, I do understand this is a NY Islanders board and will tread lightly.

Sounds to me like you just happen to work with a bunch of douchebags. I can attest that not ALL Rangers fans are azzholes, while your experiences may say that most are.

Trust me, I have great friends whom are Rangers fans and others whom are Islanders fans. I can totally see fans of opposing teams thinking that some of them are azzholes, and that goes for both sides.

I try not to generalize fans. The reason is because, in my opinion, my loyalties to my teams will tend to make me think that other fans are idiots, while I dismiss the behaviors of fans whom are wearing my teams' jersey because of our mutual loyalties.

The NY Rangers-NY Islanders rivalry is amazing, and nothing proves that more than the hatred the fans show for each other. Now, while that may sound a bit harsh, it's true. The passion at a Rangers-Islanders game is the best.

I have seen the nastiness from both sides. And more often than not, it's not a Ranger thing or an Islander thing, it's an alcohol thing.

I have been guilty myself, but I do try to enjoy the game and realize that it is a game.

As far as the Henrik-DP comparisons, again, I think it's a loyalty thing.
Also, their stats are quite similar as both have proven to be excellent goalies.

In 219 games played, DP has a career GAA of 2.75, a save % of .906 , and a career record of 98-86-8-14

In 140 career games, Henrik has a career GAA of 2.21, a save % of .921, and a record of 76-41-0-9.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
