Is it me, or do you think Andy Hilbert misses the net on purpose... After that wide open net he had in that 3rd period vs. Boston... and he hit the post...im convinced that he misses on purpose. Does anyone else gets it?? |

Miss or no miss, D45..... I think that Hilbert was the only one out there playing today. Hey.... without him, the Bruins would be looking around all over the place just to FIND the Islanders! |

Seriously Hilbert plays his heart out game after game. I don't get it. He's great but for some reason he just can't put the puck in the net. How do you go from being a goal scorer in the AHL to having 0 points in 19 games and having a million oppurtunities. If somebody can help him find his scoring touch again that would be amazing cause the man plays hard every game. Andy Hilbert = if......they make the nets wider.....lololol

During the intro , they were talking how Sillinger had success last year vs. Boston as well as the rest of the NHL. In mmuch of the video they showed, Hilbert was in on the play and assisted on some of them. He's not even doing that this year as evident by his 0 points. It's no doubt effecting Silly and Hunter's production. He's great in our own end and very good on the PK but with this team struggling to score goals, it may be time to go in a different direction. It's not panic time, it's just reality. |

I think its time to move Hilbert to the fourth line and Move Park up to play with Sillinger. |
| Rick DiPietro- Retiring?Nothing like that has even crossed my mind. I know I can play.. | |

i think it is Goalpost Andy now..... on a more serious note, at the Isles-Canadiens game, there was an auction for the game used sticks that would benefit a children's charity. Well, my little brother's favorite player is, of course, Andy Hilbert so he begged our father to get him the stick. We eventually did win and I have to say, Andy Hilbert is one of the nicest athletes I have ever met. He was funny and told my little brother that he appreciated him as a fan and Andy was even impressed by my brother's Hilbert jersey......Even though he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat right now, Andy Hilbert has gained a lot of respect from this Islander fan to Andy Hilbert

Im not doubting what kind of person Andy is, nor what kind of player he is, but this is just gettng out of hand. I mean, how do you miss a wide open net and hit the post on several occasions?? More then once! I have been a Hilbert supporter since the day he came here, but enough is enough already. Time to bring in someone else I think. |

Repeat a lie frequently enough....

2 points: 1- Somewhere Steve Depot sits and reads this thread and rapidly approaches critical mass... 2- I agree with all about Park. I think Park and Hilbert are very similar typesof players, but park has proven to be the better finisher. Give him more of Hilbert's minutes. Probably won't happen soon as Teddy seemed pretty committed to Hilbert in the most recent Newsday blog. |

Hilbert just has hands of stone. He does everything you would want from a team player but shanks every golden scoring opportunity. I like the idea of moving Park up with Sillinger. Can someone call Ted and make it so?

As much as I like Andy, when given golden opportunities like yesterday, he has to put that puck in the net. For all the good things he does, his lack of finishing ability is starting to diminish his value. |

Was the stick in one piece? Did it have holes in the blade? Hilbert should have 5 goals by now, no doubt, but I wouldn't move him off the 3rd line for Park. One...who will CENTER the 4th line? Hilbert is not a center. TWO...Hilbert has only hurt Hunter, Silli's production by 5 points. His forechecking and passing has set up more potential goals that his shooting has cost the Islanders right now. I agree with Nolan. You don't demote a guy who brings it every night. It would be one thing if there was a great offensive player ready to take his spot, but in truth there isn't. Also, this guy's luck has got to change. I still stick by my prediction of 15-20 goals for Hilbert. I think once he nets one, the floodgates will open. It's like a guy who can't get a date when he's single, but once he gets a girlfriend, every woman notices him... He'll start scoring.

Hilbert makes dumb decisions when given those golden opportunities. Instead of blasting a slap shot that is more likely to miss, why not just a wrister? |

Hilbert is not the only guy getting on my nerves; it’s also our top scoring guys. Nolan needs to light a fire underneath some asses otherwise we'll be in bad shape all season long. |
