Handing the Senators a loss would build a confidence in this team better than anything else I could imagine.

Simon on the first line? It was just a shakeup and wont stay that way for long and I think an after thought after changing the 2nd and 3rd lines to Teddy's liking. It's not like Simon doesnt have decent hands. The guy used to be on top lines and scored goals way back, so it's not such a stretch for a couple of games. Much rather see Simon playing with Comrie and Guerin than Bergenheim, at least Simon is a vet and knows how to cycle and pass.

And Bates, well I wont comment, because it wouldnt be nice, so I'll just wait and see.
I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Bates is in great shape (from what i've seen) but he's going to have a difficult start.

who knows, this may be his season to shine....or be traded.

Simon played pretty well on the first line with guerin and comrie...he was skating hard, getting to the puck...I mean, didn't he play on a line with yashin and blake? I could be wrong on that.

Great.

I've had nothing to complain about so far this season.

But now we'll go back to the bickering about bad penalties, that annoying mouthpiece thing, the horrible accent, the lazy eye, the missed shots, the missed passes, the blaming teammates for his mistakes, the missed coverage on defense.

On a positive note, he's due for a groin injury this season. With luck, it will happen relatively quickly and get him off this roster where he doesn't belong.

Tank-Comrie-Hunter
Park-VAs- Satan
Hilbert-Silly- Guerin
Simon-Bates-Bergie

Bergie's play won't hurt us on 4th line and Park's hustle won't be a drop off on second line. Leave Hilbert with Silly and Guerin. They are getting chances. They just need to net them. Let Bates play 4th line center and prove he's ready. No Pk for him. No special teams of any kind.

Personally, I wouldn't even play Bates, but if he's going to play him, I figure they will go back to 6 dmen and probably MAB will sit, though he played a good game against Dallas. Nice to see him keep his head up before shooting rather than try to blast it though people...that was the key to Satan's goal.

Put me down for 10 games on the groin reinjury pool. He WILL hurt our record, unless his arms are too sore to hook, hold, and trip.

Great idea, lets bring him back for what may be the fastest and best puck moving team in the league. He'll probably only play a couple of minutes, which is not a good idea for some one coming back from a groin injury. He'll skate hard is first shift, then sit on the bench for ten minutes and his legs will tighten up; next shift he re-injures himself.

Guess it could be worse...

In reality, Bates should have gone away with the Dave Scatchards, Michael Pecas, Mark Parrish's, Adrian Aucions, and everyone else from that "era," but nonetheless he remains.
