The offense lately has been annoying me. Ever since November 1st we only scored 3 or less goals. I mean we got some wins ever since then. But i think the offense needs to step up alot. Specially Tonight against Alanta. I mean yes dubie played horrible but the offense was not there. Dubie stoped letting up goals after the first. and there was nothing there in the 2nd and 3rd. |

Jason who?

The defense was atrocious.....how many breakaway chances could they possibly give up? |

I praised the D in another thread saying this team needed a true goal scorer to become a top tier team in the east. Goes to show what I know. The Isles are not going hard to the net, getting shots through, and when they have prime scoring chances (which are hard to come by), they miss the net shooting either wide or high. Missing the empty net was already debated in another thread also. |

DRIVE THE f#@kING NET!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's all i ask.. it's simple and it works. now grow some balls and create some havoc in the slot. i thought these guys were supposed to be hockey players. if these guys can't figure it out offensively soon, it's time for Garth to find people that will. the only player who is untouchable on this team is DiPietro.. get it done Garth. |
| "We're not in a bind at all," Burke said. "I'd say of the 29 teams, we don't talk to Edmonton, so of the 28 other teams, there's plenty of interest in making this predicament go away. I could hang up the phone and solve this." | |

I thought so too. Bergenheim actually played the best, which is saying something. Imagine if the Thrashers played all out after the 1st. We dont score more than 2 so they didnt need to pressure. They may have been actually scolded by Waddell for missing all those chances to make it 8-0. I dont give Dubie any props for the work he did after period 1 since the game was over after 1. |

If you ask me i think if they play dubie one more time in maybe florida against a non division team wont hurt this way the the will have pressure knowing dp is not there so they will be forced to play harder. Im not saying this to give dubie more of an opputunity, but if you put pressure on the defense and offense it will create more of a strong team that way. |

I won't blame Doobie for all the goals scored..We discussed this last night, Goal #1 Kovalchuck is just a great hockey player and shook our defense out of its skates..But there were way too many one on one all alone breakaways last night...The Isles looked like the 1999-2000 Islanders out there...4-0 with 6:00 to go...I couldn't stomach anymore..made for the gate... |

You know, if it's like Ted says, and "offense is like the weather, it's there sometimes, and not others," then we've had some real bad thunderstorms recently. |

The French had no offense. And worse, they had absolutely no defense. Indeed, the French were referred to as "rifle droppers". You mean.... the Isles are "rifle droppers'? Sacré Bleu! |

Here's my thing. Since the Rent-A-Wreck Smyth left, it seems that no one takes the effor to stand in front of the net. Also, shooting a flippin' puck every once in awhile won't hurt either. Not a sermon, just a thought. (I hope Islander4cups and Dr. Genorosity got that joke last sentence)
