Say what you want about his leadership, which I have no problem with. But they're paying him 4 and a half million bucks to score as well. He has been a nonfactor in recent games. |

Not really... he factored in the penalty box last night. The tide will turn... it will. |

I hope so. But he does have a beautiful house. He took us on a tour during intermission on the scoreboard. |

Doesnt have the confidence since his eye injury. The first penalty was a joke. He busts his ass from blueline to blueline to catch the guy, then goes lazy by stop skating and hooks the guy instead of keeping his legs moving and driving him into the back boards. It was lazy and lacked the confidence to get physical. He's in the doghouse this morning. |

All fair points. Here are mine. Guerin, Comrie and Tank were all brought in to keep the "goals for" part of this team at least respectable. So far, and certainly recently, they haven't. We're 4-4-1 in our last nine and haven't scored more than two goals in any of them (I think that's right). The red flag should be up, even though Nolan's quote of "as long as we score one more than our opponent I like our chances", the truth is we're looking at a losing streak if we don't start putting the puck in the net. Soft play from these three lately has hurt us, no doubt. I called for Guerin to snap out of it last night and he did, except for all the wrong reasons. Let's hope they know it, that Nolan knows it and that it gets fixed fast. We're playing with fire here and Ricky is the only reason we're winning. Fewest goals in the NHL at this point, just as an exclamation point. |

We all knew before the season started that scoring goals would be harder for us than other teams. Hilbert has been a non-factor in the scoring department and plays 1st line minutes, Sillinger is starting to show his age, Guerin is a Hot/Cold type of player when it comes to scoring as is Satan. I truly believe Comrie is playing hurt. Our most consistant forwards have been Park and Tank. If this continues, snow will take care of it by trade, but hopefully they get the goal monkey off their backs before this becomes a trend in December. |

Hilbert doesn't get 1st line time...if your going soley on his minutes played in a game its cause of the work he does on the PK, him and Park are the first team PK. As far as points go...what are you expecting from him? He had 8G and 20A last year......I know I didn't expect 25 goals from him this season. I agree with most of what you say though. |

Guerin keeps singing that old Steve Miller song - TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN! He's been a disappointment overall IMO. Haven't we seen an overpaid captain who goes invisible for too many games before? |

What 8G and 20A? Yeah I do...and he might have a few more goals. The guy did it in the same amount of time last year. I was hoping for more from Hilbert this year from an offensive standpoint..maybe 15-20G but I guess thats not reasonable with the start he's gotten. I'm sure the coaching staff would love for him to chip in 20G but I also think they are fine with what he's doing. |

I can't believe Comrie gets such a big pass. He has 3 goals in his last 19 games. HE IS THE FIRST LINE center. He took that one year deal, something to prove, came out like a house on fire. He wants to pass all the time. Is pretty inbetween with puck a lot. He played physical the first few games, I mean he had 10 PIM which I didn't like but I don't care what people say other than 1 shot or so last game. I don't even notice him on the ice. There are periods I don't even see him (seems like). Josef has been our best forward ( a lot of us forget to mention him). So far and offense only... Comrie - Dissapointment (Take out the first two games, very down on him) Guerin - Huge Dissapointment Tank - Solid Satan - Streaky, need a little more, not bad though, still our best sniper Bergie - I am personally very dissapointed in him don't know how we all feel Hilbert - Dissapointment Sillinger - Very Dissapointing Hunter - Dissapointed (Remember only offense) Park - Pleasant suprise but that still comes more from overall game. Josef - BIG time plus Simon - Actually decent from him. Campoli - Pleasant Suprise Rest of our D - NOTHING on the O side. Sutton, Gervais, MAB, Berard, Witt, Radek I know that is not our strength but bare minimum. THE best thing about it is we have a solid record. AND don't have guys playing over their head, a real true room for improvement. Guys can be better with the puck for sure and we can get more goals. Our D has been MORE than solid. Goaltending MORE than solid. Staying out of the box excellent. Penalty kill excellent. Home ice excellent. Rivalry games excellent. |

Does Guerin ever hit the net? Over the last several games, he has missed the net so much on the PP. By him not hitting, is one of the reasons the PP is struggling. Those 5 on 3 PPs are useless if you don't hit the net. It usually results in the puck going all the way up the wall and out of the zone. If he would just get the puck on net to allow for rebound chances, that would be a big help on the PP. |

Throwback Player
|
I finally got the opportunity to watch the Isles last week in a televised game here in Canada against Ottawa. While I was impressed with the effort of most of the guys, which proved why the Isles are a tough team to play against this season, one player stood out for all the wrong reasons. For a guy who was given a big contract and handed the "C" before ever donning the jersey, Bill Guerin looked pathetic. I would take a team of 20 Richard Parks over 20 Bill Guerins hands down. He may be a great guy in the room, but on the ice he looked out of position and two steps behind all night. Based on his lack of production, I'm assuming these are the traits he has been exhibiting most of the season. If he is going to keep that "C", he'd better start being a leader where it counts - on the ice. Otherwise, there are a few guys who can wear the "C" and look like it means something, namely Sillinger or Witt. I loved the play of Satan & Vasicek. That line was head and shoulders better than the Comrie-Guerin line. Comrie reminded me of Jason Blake - again for all the wrong reasons. He looked like another little guy buzzing around selfishly and not doing much. Teddy needs to crack the whip with these guys a bit. The team's success depends on its work ethic, especially if the high-priced talent isn't scoring. |
