Islanders vs. Flyers Saturday January 19th 2008 Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum ![]() I think we have got this one. If we can get shots on Biron and keep the puck deep I feel like we can prevail in regulation. Keeping Richards/Briere in check on defense and Keep the puck moving quickly through the neutral zone are my keys to the game. Prediction: Isles win in a hard-fought game 4-2. |

If we have to send Dmen to Boston to stop Drury, it will leave us in a bad spot for our game against Philly. These guys are hot, we need an A game from just about everybody. |

I've been living in Philly for the last month watchingFlyers games on TV (Comcast's broadcast is a farce) and will offer my amateur perspective. Overall they are a big team that is going to try and wear you down with physical play. Often times they will cheap-shot, hit after the whistle, getting sticks up high, etc. with guys like Steve Downie, Micke Richards, and Riley Cote being the main culprits. They intentionally try to throw the opponent off their game by doing extra physical crap. They' are currently getting away with alot of s&*t and are usually successful at drawing retaliation and roughing penalties against the opposition. Downie is especially dangerous as many of you have seen in hilights throughout the season. I would say that the recklessness that he plays with is on par with or exceeds that of Hollpig. It is mind boggeling how the refs are letting him get away with hits from behind and after the play. Flyers are also scoring a ton of goals from in close and are therefore not afraid to bully their way in front of the net. They have talented forwards like gagne and briere who can swoop in and bury pucks. Niittymaki is playing well but I'd still consider him average. Here's how we win: 1. Limit retaliation penalties. 2. keep crease clear 3. Someone KO's Downie 4. DP gets them frustrated and they start taking dumb penalties. Ilses win 3-2 in a SO with goals from Park and Hunter. Sillinger gets SO clincher. |

Biron lost his starting job. Flyers have been scoring a lot of goals lately too. |

I think he means Briere and not Drury(Rangers). |

Here's another wrinkle sybo - The Rangers are playing Boston tomorrow. So we are sending our DMen to help Boston contain Drury, makes perfect sense now! Right!?!
