Which is what Commodore did to Fedetanko after he just played the puck in the slot...yet no call. What sutton did was a penalty, but Tank actually had a play on the puck and there was no call. Brindy received a cross check with no puck near him. Which has a greater effect on the outcome of the game? It is called consistency and if the refs don't have it, they should be gone. The refs call 1 penalty for 58 minutes of a game and then call 2 within 3 minutes...come on. That is pathetic. |

Nobody is really blaming them completely for the loss. What people are complaining about is that when Carolina does something it is not a penalty, and then when the isles do THE EXACT SAME THING it is called. It's a pathetic job of officiating. Not saying that Sutton didn't deserve the call, but it has to be called both ways. |

We let 3 pts get away in the last two games. We get the lead and then it slips away. |

See my reply for what would have happened. Our PP doesn't exactly instill confidence in anyone at the moment. |

We'll get back at them tomorrow. Canes didn't impress me much and they will face a very hungry Isles who will retaliate. Good thing we play them again tomorrow so the guys have that feeling of revenge in recent remembrance... |

Moose...you are right...as I said in an earlier post the Isles stopped skating in the 3rd and that is why they lost. However, just because the Isles stopped doing their job, doesn't mean the ref should stop doing his. Carolina didn't skate for the entire game, even when they tied it up they were still playing sloppy, lousy uninspired hockey. The refs didn't cost us this game. We should never blow a 2 goal lead v. a team playing like that. But at the same time, the other team doens't need to be put BACK on the OT PP by a call that wasn't a penalty only 4 minutes earlier at the other end. I think that is what the arguement is. I don't think anyone is saying the ref cost us the game. If they did, they would be wrong. However, there is no denying that a questionable boarding call was made and a "newly found" crosscheck was applied in the last 3 minutes of a game that had nothing called for 58 minutes. All fans want is consistency. We didn't get it from the refs or the Islanders today. |

1 non call led carolina to the way they won.. u call the tank play, the hit on staal doesnt happen, then you go to 4 on 4 OT, then b/c its 4 on 4, we dont get trapped in the zone and sutton isnt out there when that play happens, so no penatlies get called... |

LOL. Yes, because we would have OBVIOUSLY CASHED IN ON THE POWERPLAY and that would have gotten Trent not to screen Rick on the tying goal. You people kill me. |

Good lord. Why the synical view? No one is saying we score on the PP and dance away into the sunlight with a 3-2 win. You sound like someone who had to work today (teasing).Moose, If the Isles go on the PP at the 3 minute mark, then chances are the Canes aren't as agressive, they are killing a PP which isn't their strong suit and Martinek isn't hitting Staal behind our net because they aren't putting pressure on us...(most likely). If that doesn't happen, then Sutton isn't killing a penalty and takes that penalty. The Isles just killed 30 seconds of the OT PP without giving up a shot and had cleared the zone when the second penalty was called. Chances are we don't score if Tank gets a PP for us. But chances are we aren't down a man in the OT either. Surely Carnac can understand that. |

Yes, but missed calls aren't the reason for a loss, dearest Trotts. We had 2 good ofensive zone shifts in the 3rd. One should've drawn a penalty, yes. Hence, if we had say...4 or 6 good shifts, we would've DEFINATELY drawn a call or 2. See my point? We played on our heels and that cost us. |

I think they are already looking towards the break.... I was reflecting earlier today (as I refreshed the scores on my phone at the client site) - seems like we are not the team we were at the beginning of the year. We use to thrive in close games... now we score and checkout. I'm glad I didn't get to watch the game, it would have been a frustrating interuption to a long day. |

Believe me, in the words of Bill I feel your pain the frustration is very high on this end to. We threw away 3 points this weekend and essentially gave away 7 when you figure we GAVE Philly and Carolina 2 points each they never should have had. |
