Howdy yall, I just got back from the RBC center and let me tell you, it was a fun game. (Amusingly, it was my first game wearing my brand new Dipi Jersey....and dubie played. ) Notes: Solid PKing obviously. Park, Hunter and Silly all deserve top star for this game for their effort on the PK (Sadly park got left off). Guerin played well. Sutton needs to watch his stick...his play never seems to impress me. Both Witt and Martinek look like they're still not 100% (Yeah i know Radek had 2 assists, but i'm saying defensively), but they are getting better. On our first power play, COMRIE was playing the point, and mab was playing in the low corner. I was furious. Fortunately i didnt see that again, but putting comrie ont he point not only eliminates the threat that MAB possesses entirely, but puts another flawed defensive player on the point. Ugh. Third period was better than yesterday, but we did seem to be once again trying simply to fend them off rather than score. I did notice that it seemed that our fourth line, especially comeau (who normally has tremendous energy), seemed VERY lethargic around the 10 minute mark of the 3rd period. Comeau came back to his credit for the empty netter late in the game with the 2 first liners, but it needs to be improved. Our 4th line is so important to this team, that it slowing down can get us killed. Comrie, ugh, thats for another thread. All in all, a great game. Nice to see a win here at the RBC center. |

Another wonderful day at the RBC center...too bad there weren't as many isles fans around me as there were during the last game. What's more rare...3 SHG or Witt putting one in? |

Right On Time.

Is it nuts to say that Mike Comrie is my least favorite Islander and a BORDERLINE 3rd line center on any good team? NOT second. I mean Hilbert is more valuable than Comrie, I'm not making this up. |

i CAN has a goal!
|
This team gutchecked and stood tall in the third when it was on the brink in a hostile building. Get 2 Thursday and We're looking at a very interesting second half. |

Then it might only be interesting, or maybe "could be" interesting... or worse, back to very interesting but in a bad way.

I'm still shocked about bergenheims goal... It reminds me of something that Crosby would pull off. I wish bergie scored more... He's definitly got a ton of hussle, wish he was rewarded for it with a couple more netters. |

Loran, did you see how angry Cole got at Guerin after Guerin shoved him right out of the crease iwhen he dove for the rebound at Dubie's feet? THAT'S what you want out of your captain. Billy also yapped at him. I loved that. STAND up for your teammates especially your goalie. Gave the Canes too much room to maneuver in the third and if it wasn't for Wade's golatending the tone on here could have been alot worse. Took some lazy penalties and I'm sure Laviolette feels as if they gave that game away. Anyway, BIG 2 points for us and on to Beantown for a BIG BIG game tomorrow.

Lavy can feel that way but the Isles gave him two points at the Coliseum. We were due to catch some breaks. I like the see this team tighten up. On a night Dubie made 44 saves, the Queen in Ragville only faced 14 shots all game. |
