Watching some of the Pens-Flyers game. Laraque just cross-checked Downie into the boards from behind. Knocked him out COLD! That should be a heavy suspension. Hate to say it- Downie deserves a tast of his own medicine.

Five bucks says Ricky will complain of shoulder problems tomorrow with the bowling over that he took from Sutton.

That was just a stupid penalty.

That wasn't a stupid penalty. The guy was breaking away, he had to do what he could to keep him from getting a good scoring chance. Its the dumb, lazy hooks in the offensive zone that are stupid penalties.

Ok so then let me put it this way...

Shouldn't he have been able to nuetralize that WITHOUT taking a holding penalty and bowling over Ricky during their OWN PP? Would that have been too much to ask?

I don't know. It was 6'6 Sutton trying to catch up to Kessel (whos brother is in the isles organization :) )

Whatever, Since we have been on the all-star break since the middle of the 2nd period on Tuesday... lets have a nice allstar break.

When you look at this team, IMO, it's amazing they are where they are at this point. They aren't a very fast team. Nor are they a very smart team. There aren't really any players having career years except perhaps a Richard Park.

And their PP is just terrible. And they have problems scoring. They spend most of the evening defending against the other team's cycle. And they still have a shot at the playoffs.

Nolan must be a miracle worker. Give him full kudos.

Nolan's credo is "you win with what you've got." And he tries to every day. Some days it works, some days... the miracles just aren't there.

It's a shame. It seems we're two to three players away from legitimately having a shot to advance a round. This past week is really just another picture from the Islanders as a team the past few years. They tease us by grabbing leads, blowing them, and then rebounding with a big road win. Then they throw up a stinker, sinking us back into reality.

What bothers me is all season we have not been able to score on Thomas. Honestly, Why? I know, he's an allstar. He really is not that good. Beating Boston is important because we will be competing with them until the 8 seeds are known.

Not that good? I am pretty sure he has the highest save percentage in the league...if not he's deffinitly top 3 for %.
