i just got this from an email from my friend....not sure where he got it from... Breaking news this afternoon out of Islanders Iceworks in Syosset, where Ted Nolan's team is about to begin practice: * Center Mike Sillinger (hip injury) is expected to be out of the lineup for approximately three weeks. His spot in the lineup will likely be filled by Islanders prospect Frans Nielsen, recalled this morning from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. * Nielsen's linemate Jeff Tambellini, the leading goal scorer in the American Hockey League with 29 goals, has also been recalled by the Islanders from Bridgeport. * Veteran forward Richard Park missed today's practice with the flu and is questionable for tomorrow, when the Islanders host the defending Stanley Cup champion Anahaim Ducks at 7:05 pm at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. * Veteran enforcer Kip Brennan has also been recalled by the Islanders and took the ice at practice today. To learn more about Nielsen, Tambellni and the other prospect forwards in Bridgeport, read our article posted on Saturday night here Check back to newyorkislanders.com for a report after practice today from Jason Lockhart, including Ted Nolan's comments on the loss of Sillinger and addition of Nielsen, Tambellini and Brennan to the lineup. ISLANDERS TV is also at Iceworks today and will have all the details. |
