This was decided back in July. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone now.

You guys make me laugh.....We all say the team has a lack of talent but then its such a shock that we lose  So fast to point the finger at 1 given player bc of a turn over or a bullshit penalty... Its a lack of talent...period! We have young guys on our team (with the exception of a few) and they haven't been 'molded' into really good players yet. We should make our trades and rebuild over the summer. We obviously aren't going to make the playoffs.

Comire, Berard, Hunter and maybe Satan have to go, no question. Comrie is always in the box, Berard- I have no idea what hes doing and Hunter cant keep up all season. Satan, well hes steaky. He cam alive in the 1st period until he crashed into the boards at 90 mph. MAB I like him...I really do. I think from the beginning of the season until now he's stepped up. Still gives up the puck in our own zone but i think is playing stronger than I've seen him.

We NEED Campoli and Sim back! ah theres always next season
After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for faggots"

Key things to look at (as fans) are that 3rd goal.
Who's man was that when Weight scored from the slot?
You guessed it, Mike Comrie's.
Bad communication between him and Comeau on that play over who had the
point man but it's the center's responsibility to pick up his check down low.

This is nothing new. This is getting old or should I say beyond that.
Not because we're losing. But because the score was 0-2 and we NEEDED something and
when you show that much of a lack of concentration in your end, you show a lack of work ethic.

I am not singling Comrie out but I've had enough of his lack of focus.

Us die hards have been through this before. When things go bad, you stay the course and hope they work it out.
When that fails, sit guys and give them a chance to respond.
When that fails, you have callups and hope the youth inspires more work ethic.
When that fails the GM needs to make deals.

I thing we're at that point. But having said all that, you do NOT tank the year
and have a firesale. Tough decisions for Snow now.

The Flyers have re-invented themselves in quick fashion. Last year, they were the worst team in the league - this year they are surprising people everywhere.

They obviously added a big free-agent acquisition, but they also pulled off a big trade by acquiring Temonen and Hartnell. We need to follow that example, but a trade by the deadline will probably prove tough because Satan who would probably be our most obvious trade bait is now injured. I would not trade Witt, Guerin nor Sillinger unless they ask to be traded.

The Comrie experiment has not proven successful - maybe he can fetch us something. I wonder if Hillary still would mind coming to our games, though. Tank and Vasicek should also go, but I am not expecting a big return. Anyone on an expiring contract needs to be shipped for SOMETHING.

The Tambellinis, Comeaus and Neilsens, etc. need to be given these roster spots to begin showing what they can do with their ice time for the remainder of the year.

I agree...and I'll remind folks that pro athletes (even ones as seemingly lifeless as our Isles are right now) aren't gonna willingly tank a game...let alone season. With that said, we are looking at a very daunting need to go 19-9 to reach 92 points which may squeak us into the playoffs. Tough decisions indeed for Garth.

My honest opinion is on deadline day just trade Tank, Vasicek, and Satan. Fetch whatever return you can get with them.

I think we should give the Comrie experiment one more year because he most likely is playing hurt.

Whoever said trade Hunter has not been watching Islanders games.

I would love to get another top 5 pick in the draft but of course I dont want them to completely tank.
