We can't catch a f@ckin break

I think it is more like DP can't catch a puck... :bag:

Notice he has sucked since his injury in the All Star game?!?

Yes, it's his fault the Islanders have scored 2 or fewer goals in like the last 6 of 7 goals. We need him to skate the puck out to the blue line and began our "system" breakout.

Well it was a beter effort...the result sucked but if they play like this the tide will change. The real question is can they do this more then one night?

Hey, if they take the body like they did tonight, at least they will be interesting to watch. But they play too much in their defensive zone to realistically have a shot of doing anything significant the rest of the year.

Hold on - I am not blaming DP for these losses.

I'm saying that he hasn't been as sharp since the All Star game.

Can you refute that? :dontknow:

So it's bad enough that they score a late goal to blow a tie game, but now the officials have to literally blow a game.

This one hurts more then being blown out.

How does Gervais continue to find a spot in this lineup?

Nope. I don't think he has had one really hot streak like he did the previous two years. He's been consistent -- good but not the lights out period he has had in the past. He needs to have a stretch like that now or it's lights out -- for the Islanders.

Oh I'm not talking about a stanley cup run shooter....I more mean a team that doesn't lose 6 in a row. I'd like to see them play at least .500 the rest of the way with this type of a team. If we make the 8th spot great but it gives 3-4 young guys the experence they need next year.

He's here because we have a roster filled with Berard, MAB, Sutton, Meyer, etc. When you compare him to the others, he looks pretty good. In reality, he belongs in the minors. But when you pair him with Witt, he can gain some good experience.

did ted just say that the ref told him to screw off with the time issue at the end of the game?

Very true.

I'm thinking the hip last year and tweak this year play a little into it.

And, being an emotional type, he probably isn't quite to the place where he can handle the ups and downs without it affecting his play (though he is markedly better than years past.)

8 games to D(ecision) Day.

I know you're not. I just like to see an effort, like tonight's game. They got an unfortunate deflection at the end of the game. It happens. But the effort was there. Let's hope it continues against Minnesota.

He's young and still going to make mistakes....I get frustrated too with him but he should be playing 5th D-Man time but you have to trust the coaching staff.

Maybe it is the injury. But I think since he got his bell rung a couple of times he hasn't really gone six to eight games of seeing the puck well. I think he is more consistent but he hasn't been great, IMO. And the team needs him to be great to have any shot at the playoffs.

Guerin was too slow tonight too. He caused some problems.
And Gervais isn't the same without Campoli. That's his problem.

Stop. Witt elevated the shot with a deflection. It happens.

Elite goalies stop those shots
