How does Gervais continue to find a spot in this lineup?

He's young and still going to make mistakes....I get frustrated too with him but he should be playing 5th D-Man time but you have to trust the coaching staff.

I like to see him paired with Witt. When Martinek went down, he had some time with him and seemed to be progressing in his game. Then Witt got hurt and he slumped back.

DP :puke:

Stop. Witt elevated the shot with a deflection. It happens.

Elite goalies stop those shots

That's why few are called Elite

And some are called Patrick and Martin. :bag:

I agree. I said I thought since he got his head clocked a couple of times he hasn't had a real sizzling stretch of games. And time is running out. We don't need a consistent DP right now, we need him lights out asap.

Well if you score 2 or fewer goals in most games, then yes, it has to be either shut out or lights out. So there's no room for error. And on a night they scored three, there were plenty of mistakes in many areas.

So would the defense that plays in front of Ozzie.
If you see someone down on the ground, you lend them a hand. Unless they're a Rangers fan, then you kick them in the face.

We can't catch a f@ckin break

I think it is more like DP can't catch a puck... :bag:

Notice he has sucked since his injury in the All Star game?!?

Yes, it's his fault the Islanders have scored 2 or fewer goals in like the last 6 of 7 goals. We need him to skate the puck out to the blue line and began our "system" breakout.

:rotflmao:

Hold on - I am not blaming DP for these losses.

I'm saying that he hasn't been as sharp since the All Star game.

Can you refute that? :dontknow:

Who has been sharp since the ASG?

Remember DP's still young. And what kind of D has he had in front of him? Anything like Billy Smith had?

DP does tend to give up soft goals. He still is a good goalie but it would be nice to see him make more routine saves and be in better position. Hopefully he'll be there one day.

Led,
How much longer is being young going to be an excuse for his mistakes?

Plus he has already had several concussions, a bad knee and apparently a very bad hip.
