refering to a female hygene product to describe the play of male athletes??? Yeah, how could anything think that is dirty, not to mention offensive to females. BTW...how many ligaments does Satan need to tear for you to not question his manhood? |

CapeBretonIslander08 Islander4cups is a very arrogant poster. He seems to understand hockey but he has a habit of after every game analyzing members posts and letting them know why they are wrong on there observations and usually critics as if he is a teacher letting the student know what they did wrong. He belittles most posters with his know it all attitude. He's the Don Rickles of the board in a dark strange way. Were all Islander fans with the same goal to see the Islanders win. With that said I4C do not change and keep doing what you do. Where all different and that's what makes life go round and round. I posted this after seeing the recaps of every bodies thoughts on tonight's game And all it is ~~~ is what I've just mentioned above. Islander4cups has been arrogant rude to me on more then one occasion But this is only a posting board regarding Islander Hockey and not a business meeting Where your face to face with others. Nobody truly knows the background of anybody on the board unless you know each other prior Or have met at Gate 1 or some other place. So we should never judge a poster by it's cover or emotion con or what ever those little creatures are called Because for all you know I could be on Saturday Night Live or a Fashion Model or a Entrepreneur or maybe a student. But regardless ~~~ WERE ALL ISLANDERS AND I LOVE YOU ALL Now lets kick the Flyers Arses on Tuesday looks like the writers strike is over

Way to go, Zeppy, your all too infrequent rants make me laugh. As far as the Isles go, it seems that Rick is pretty worn down right now. He's been in a bad slump in the five or six games in the All-Star game, and I'm thinking that the "My f*%#n hip!" thing during the skills competition was more serious than first thought. Does anybody else think he's hurt? They should give Dubie at least a start or maybe even two to give Rick a breather. He's not Superman. Especially with the playoffs getting farther out of grasp, why risk more injury? |

Man I thought we avoid that. I'm sorry its a 1000% cop out. He hasn't even been real bad, plus he has made some great saves etc. That is the over-protective part of DP that kills me. He played THE NEXT day in the ASG and let up 1 goal. Just because he has lost doesn't mean his hip is now "SERIOUS" and we would let him play EVERY NIGHT? Come on think it through a little. We can't pick and choose when it is good. When he makes 10 amazing saves against the Ducks or robs people he is not hurt? He is fine. NOT SHARP, but not injured. Also (Rick doesn't say it at all) am I the only one who gets riled up when we hear he gets "worn down" or needs a rest? THE TOP goalies in the league play 65 plus games. Brodeur last year played 78 GAMES!!!! He has played EIGHT STRAIGHTTTTT years over 70 games. Luongo played 76 GAMES last year! And has played over 72 for three straight years! Now I am not saying DP has to start 72 games but being in the net and playing night in and night out is part of being great and consistent. That is part of being great. Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Eli Manning. A- Rod playing a 159 games every season. MJ playing each night. Rick has never played over 62 games. To miss 20 starts (For whatever reason) is a lot. Especially with his age coming in to his prime. That is a problem, because in the future we will need those 68 starts for him. Giving a night off here or there or on back to backs is NO problem. I wouldn't want him in for 78 games (Which is amazing that I even say that). BUT he should not break down from playing 6 games after the All-Star break with no back to backs or long trips. I know that he is one tough SOB and probably my favorite part of him, he really does want to play, he really does eat up playing rivals and other big time goalies. He has had more injuries and missed more games than many would like by his age. 65 games started should be a very fair number for him. 70 would be great. Dubie has been better than expected for sure, but the back up goalie and back up QB is loved by fans, but the more they play the more they get exposed. Just like certain guys in MLB who hit .350 off the bench with 150 at bats but if he got 450 at -bats he would hit .250. I do think he will get a night off Tuesday and then play the Leafs, Thrashers, Sharks and Caps. The guy is a work-out freak, he is a top notch goalie, our franchise (People pay money to see him). ESPECIALLY on our team we need him to be a work horse (And he would agree). This is not me getting on RICK AT ALL, in fact it is the opposite, he would want to start 75 games I bet. The guy should not be worn down in the 56th game of the season and has only started 48 games. I mean Nabakov has started 53 out of 55 games and hasn't "worn down", he is 30 - 17. |

Sorry I couldn't respond earlier... around 11:30 tonight we had to ambulance my child to the hospital for respatory issues. he's ok now, but scared the @$%% out of us. I'll address your post. I looked up the term after you said it meant shower. While I'm aware that is the meaning in French, I saw no English dictionary that had that definition. However, you say that is how you meant it...good enough. Dead issue |

Zep... exactly how have I been "rude" to you in the past? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it you who has in the past referred to me as... "DP's agent" "having a man crush on DP" and other fun terms? To be honest, I don't know what you are talking about half the time because I don't know what your "emoticon only" posts mean. I do know after the Pitt game you made what I took as a funny joke towards me (something about the problem with comedy), so I returned one in an attempt at good fun. I even said I was kidding because I didn't want you to take offense. yet, your next comment was something about my making an insult "covered in sugar" or something to that effect. Was your original comment meant as an insult because I didn't take it that way, yet when I reply in the same vain, you complain? What's up with that? You seem to take offense easily for people doing the same thing to you that you do to others. Any of my harmless jokes were meant just as that, harmless. I haven't belittled you by calling you names, but you have resorted to such many times, yet I am arrogant and rude. OK. But others whom I've had lively disagreements with such as Poti and Tinman I have no problem with and even exchange PM to discuss items not on the board. Sorry you think I'm arrogant and rude. Sorry you think my "analyzing every post like I'm teaching a class" is arrogant and rude. I think I analyze the plays on the ice and explain them thoroughly, but not people's posts, but you say tomato. It's neither my intent to be arrogant nor rude. I simply try to explain what I see on the ice and how it shapes my opinion. However, if that is how it is taken I will make an attempt to correct that, not because you say "not to change" but rather because I don't wish to be perceived that way, not do I wish to insult anyone. However Zep, if I have a problem with someone, you can bet that I will post it in a PM in an effort to smooth things over whether the fault be mine or theirs, as I've done in the past....not send an insulting post over the main board and then claim the other person is rude and arrogant. Usually, that will only inflame a situation, not calm it. And I'm serious when I say I wish you a good weekend. |

Tin... We all want Rick to play at that pre ASG level and you are right that he hasn't been as sharp as he was prior to the break. I don't think he's been bad, but he hasn't been outstanding in any game since the break. Who knows, he may never be a 70 game starter. Usually, I look for them to rest him when he starts sliding alot on his pads and overplaying shots. In the past, he's had a tendancy to do that after a streak of 4-5 straight starts, but I haven't seen that lately. I've seen more a few "seeing eye singles" so to speak get behind him like that first goal tonight. I don't think it's a hip issue, but who knows. It would be nice to see the 18 skaters step up and steal a few games for him as he's done for us. I'm not opposed to winning a 5-4 game once in a while. Hopefully Rick will get off his C+ game and roll with about 2 weeks of A games soon. |

Hey, the board is for opinions. I don't have a problem with those who question whether a player needs rest, or is in a slump. What I don't understand is the glee shown by some (and I say some as in a couple, few) when a player like DP stumbles. It doesn't make any sense to me. It comes off as "I told you so, he stinks, ha ha ha ha ha..." |
