i forget where your from again cape?

Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia just east of Sydney. Where Aaron Johnson is from

http://encarta.msn.com/map_701511444/Cape_Breton_Island.html

Johnson belongs in the lineup every night. Alright, I got it out of my system after watching Meyer, MAB, Berard and Sutton all year.

While maybe in total numbers I think this year the Avg crowd has been higher then last year. I also think thats proven in the fact that we are 3rd highest in Season/package sales this year.

Trust me Cape the numbers do say everything...I think we either have as many sellouts or are close to the number from last year with a 1/3 of the seaosn to go.

Put a real competing Cup team out there and watch the attendance go up. Gosh, there's an idea...

I hear ya Arias but that still doesnt say that the team has fan support at their games is what I am talking about.

what U tend not to see on TV is that the majority of the upper seating is taken. Lower seating is VERY expensive...therefore a much tougher sell.

Cape,

Like it or not this is an organization that still has the perceived "stink" on it from the "fishstick", owner roulette, Maloney and MM days. No one worried about Chicago being in the basement as far as attendance goes for the past 8 years. No one seems to worry about the same issue with Boston. Why? Because it is a known fact that fans stayed away there (and in Boston some still do) out of protest to what their idiot owners did.

Well, why should Isles fans be different? i'm not taking a crack at Wang, but until the isles put something on the ice that is more than a "1 win in the first round" team, fans will stay away because it has now been 14 years of mediocre at best/putrid at worst play.

Fans on LI have far more avenues for their entertainment dollar. The Isles know this better than anyone. If the team doesn't get up as far as quality of players, then why would people come out to watch?

Easy way to look at what teams people will watch.... your team has a 4 v 4 situation...who does your team put on the ice? The team with names in that situation puts fannies in seats.

Who have the Isles had in 14 years to make up an effective line in that situation?
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

Cape - Just as sybo stated you can't go by what you see on TV or in the numbers. I'm at every game the last 7 years and I can tell you there is more support this year then last. If your looking for the bandwagon fans to get to the games, yes you need to put a consistent winning product out there espically on LI where people have 100 other things they can spend their money on.

Its just me. We love our hockey and supported here in Canada like you guys with football and baseball I guess Even here with a very small population high unemployment rate in Cape Breton. We pack our Arena for our QMJHL team Cape Breton Screaming Eagles every game. Good or bad weather..good or bad team.
I get what your saying hockey is not a big seller there like most of the USA...not all(THE NORTH USA) but most.
