Making an occasional rush up the ice doesn't make up for the numerous penalities and mistakes they both make. The Islanders will be serious about contending for the Cup when they don't employ flawed defensemen like Berard and MAB. |

CANADA, my point was more directed at Witt trying too much (lately) to block shots as he isn't that mobile. Liek I said, all too often he's screened DP and even had pucks deflect off him and go in when had he skated or gotten body position, those shots woud never have been taken. Not totally down on him but wouldn't be to hurt if he was moved and we upgraded the "nasty-crease clearer" spot with someone more mobile. This opportunity gives guys like Meyer to show their stuff. What a coincidence in that Meyer is a great skater and with more confidence he uses that great balance (from skating) to transfer body weight and use all of that 190lbs to make good hits. Berard and Bergeron have played better but if I had my choice I'd keep Bergeron (still young). Berard I'm not too crazy about lately. All in all...when you have a more mobile defense, it does help out offensively but as we saw yesterday, it can also hurt you defensively if bad decisions are made. This is where communication back there is key. |

The most interesting man in the world
|
Witt is on my untouchable list as far as trades are concerned unless something outstanding came our way. That said, it is an interesting dynamic when he's out and we become more mobile in all respects. Now, regarding MAB and BB, there is no secret that these guys have some skeletons in the closet but when you're the lowest scoring team in the league, you have to take a close look at how they can help us break though the neutral zone and ultimately put points on the board.....yes, they also open some doors going the other way too. |

Great post CANADA , where's the fishing guy photo With little to no offence the Islanders poses I would structure the offence around MAB and BB Play those two 25 - 30 minutes a game Have them fire those cannons they call slap shots We either win 10-7 or lose 10 -7

Sometimes I grow so tired, but I know I've got one thing I got to do... ![]() What puckhead says is Islander law Come in with the milk "A leader, once convinced a particular course of action is the right one, must have the determination to stick with it and be undaunted when the going gets rough."
