Tomorrow we play the cellar dwellers Lightning. Let's make their trip home long.

Up to this point with all these injuries, it puts the mind at ease to know the youth on this team have full potential. More importantly, they are all communicating with each other.

*any word on Sillinger? Is he still on reserve?

Comrie was named the first star of the game and he officially had no goals, no assists, and no shots on net.....pretty impressive statistical line!

You can blame me for Buffalo, I cursed my friend by saying Vanek was going to score a goal... low and behold he gets a hat trick.

Once again these guys battle like champs and grab another win with an even more depleted roster. That was fantastic, and I thought we had ZERO chance in the shootout. Martinek turmed the tables on Alex the great bigtime. Do these guys live to make it interesting or what?
Simply awesome !!!!

This is the strangest team Ive ever remembered rooting for. It will be really interesting to see what they try to accomplish at the deadline if we continue to play well the next few days. Can an injured player be traded? Id love to see Sillinger dealt, and either Satan or Hunter as well (if something of young value can be returned). I dont want Comeau or Tambellini sitting while Sillinger and Simon return in a few games.

Just got back from the rink and am still grinning from ear to ear! The looks on the faces of those around me when Radek dumped Ovechkin were priceless! The only thing better was celebrating the win with the cheesy 80's slow clap while everyone in my section made for the exits.

By the way....Caps fans are terrible drunks. When I say "terrible" I mean that their heckling is atrocious when they've had too many.

"Nice last place team ****head!"

(long stare)

"Actually we're not in last place, the Lightning are."

(Caps fan throws up in his mouth a little bit but swallows it back down, what a trooper)

"Oh yeah? Well your team's colors suck! Why don't you go back to Staten Island!"

(I look at him sideways)

"Well I'm from Gaithersburg, not Staten Island and the colors are those of Nassau County, NY. It's where the Islanders are from."

(audible belch from Caps fan accompanied by a full body shiver)

"Yeah? Well ni....."

(at this point the body convulsions were too much and our friend, the Caps fan had to go find the nearest toilet)

Comrie scores.....

Really? I think this team is much like last years...we made a run to 7th place close to the deadline...then we make a HUGE splash...and then after DP gets his head hit...we sink like a rock....Teddy finally throws caution to the wind, plays Dubie we get hot and get in.

Chemistry is such a tough thing...adding or subtracting one piece is all they need to do.

Why would you want to trade Silly? He's excatly a guy you would trade for, in a playoff push....great on faceoff's and soild Defensive forward. Trade Big Joe or Tank and Simon if some smuck would take him.

Sillinger has had a poor season, and is old, and Im afraid he would cut into another younger player's icetime deeply. Perhaps a top contender would want him for the playoffs.

Last season's team actually started slumping after we traded for Smyth. If you remember we blew a 3 goal lead to Philly then won in OT the day we got him and then actually blew a 2-0 lead and lost to STL in his first game. We really went into the tank after Rick's injury and needed a dozen things to break right to make the playoffs. This year it seems this team is consistently inconsistent.

Sorry to hear you had a rought time with the 4 Crapitals fans. There were plenty of empty seats in section 112 in the first period. I'd say half the 100's were empty for the first period. Craps fans (both of them) are a half rung above Dodgers fans...arrive late and leave early.

Notice how many of them left before the OT began as well.

Gaithersburg...nice stop on the red line. I live in Alexandria and it is always so nice to leave that clown college of an arena with two points.

Few things about the game tonight...dicey D in the first period...wtf was Berard doing on that first goal? Two giveaways in 30 seconds both resulting in great scoring chances, the second resulting in the breakaway goal.

WTF game were the refs watching? Erskine crosschecked Guerin in the face at center ice while the puck was in his feet...and it was a blatant stick to the face. Guerin's head went back and all that was missing was a Costner voiceover saying "back and to the left"... yet nothing was called and 30 secs later they give Guerin a BS slashing call when both he and Erskine were mixing it up.

Guerin played with fire tonight. I'm sure it helped that the Craps pissed him off with the cheap crap, but you ccould see how the others rallied around him and played harder after he stepped up to Erskine and then Brashear. Great message by the leader of this team. Wouldn't have seen that from Cashin.

But the refs were brutal. They called nothing for 55 minutes and then called stuff that didn't exist in the last 5. If you aren't going to call anything...fine, do it the full 60 and catch your flight. It was obvious they had a game to work tomorrow anyway.

Some Islanders fans had a sign that took up four seats that said "Howie Rose for President". Two thoughts...how sad that the Craps had so many empty seats available and please don't let those signholders vote

Great win. Glad to get the two points and move on. And the wife owes me dinner because we won the season series
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

Can't disagree with Silly having a bad season offensivly but I would think the 2-4 weeks off will have returned him to the Silly of old. I don't want the kids gone either....which is why before the hot streak I was in favor of trading Joe Vas/Tank but now...not so sure.

I think a team needs a Silly type in the playoffs, these guys tend to rise in those situations but all vaild concerns you have and Yes I remember us struggling after the deadline...which is why I don't want to be a BIG buyer...and actually a small seller.
