hey, is mike comrie playing?

not really. he's just ice skating.

hmmm, comrie and snow are talking contract extension, as in rumors

not a good showing

Problem is people look at him as a first line center for us when realistically he's a second line center. If we have a legit first line center and he plays on the second line, I think we don't get as frustrated with him. My biggest problem with him is his lack of focus when making his passes.

I do like him, I really do...

i still hope we sign him for a few more years, but if we can get an attractive exchange for comrie, i'm all for that as well.

Well we know with a goalie like DP (when he is on his game) can give us a chance any night. They kept a six game streak going with one above average defenseman in Radek Martinek. I don't see anyone else wanting any of our defensemen so this group will be intact come Tuesday night. However, what they do with Satan, Comrie, Vas, Ruslan remains to be seen.

Yeah, that's what disappoints today. The Isles matched their intensity for two periods, but the Devils just outhustled, out physicaled and out played us in the third period. Aaron Johnson got manhandled out there today in the third period. I thought the guy has played very well since coming back, but that third period he was off his game. Poor gap control led to Parise's goal and on Gionta's goal Johnson never laid a finger on him. He just let Gionta come out from the corner, get a deflection and bang home the rebound and never even touched Gionta. He's got to put a body on him in that situation. Still, if we are going to get only one bad period from Johnson in all the time he's been back, it's tough to complain about him. Espeically since Gervais was WAY too soft in the corner to allow Gionta to start that play to being with.

Still, it is one game and hopefully we can start another winning streak on Tues v. another divisional foe. No need to start whining and crying after one loss in two weeks. It was two good periods today and then we just got taken to the woodshed in the third. No one was immune to that whipping on this team.

I do think that this was the type of game that Simon was brought back for and he did nothing. The Devils were manhandling us all over the ice both before and after whistles. Clarkson's hit on Gervais, Gionta's high stick to MAB, the banging of our Dmen down low after whistles, the digging at covered pucks by DP... these are the sort of things Simon's presence was supposed to prevent. If not, he's supposed to drop the gloves or throw a big hit and establish some order from the chaos. Did he seek out Clarkson and invite him to tango after the cheap hit on Gervais? Nope. Did he throw any big hits to set a tone or send a message to the Devs bench? All we got out of Simon was a weak hooking in the third period.

In no way am I laying this loss on him, but those who favored his return sold this, "teams won't take liberties" nonsense. His presence isn't cutting down on that. Not in the least. And if this is what we are going to get from him, I'd rather have Tambeliini playing who can contribute a point or two a week and continue to develop at the NHL level.

This was the type of physical game that Simon was brought back for. Didn't anyone tell him that?

Like was said...it's only one game. Let's start another 6 game winnng streak on Tues v. Pitt.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

I didnt see the hooking penalty on simon, turned off by then, hoping for a change in luck...

I thought for sure Simon was going to go after Asham after the hit on Comeau even if it meant an instigator and/or be shorthanded afterwards. I was surprised he didn't. Maybe he's gone a little soft in trying to keep his cool. I can't imagine it was because it was Asham. If so, then he's useless.

My wife and I were there with the Booster Club. We had some annoying Devils fan behind us yelling, "THIS IS OUR HOUSE!". I turned around and said, "yeah well your house is in a sh1thole neighborhood!"

I was there...and was looking for u guys too !!! I did a lot of walking around, but eventually settled up by Gary and the booster crew. And, I wound up leaving with about 10 minutes to go in the 3rd so i could catch an earlier train home. I did have the pleasure of discovering something new this visit to the rock....they had BLUE MOON beer vendors !!!!!! YUMMMMMMMMMM !!! ...actually we ate like pigs too...good foot long hot dogs, cheesesteaks, and boardwalk fries. The game was okay....but I got pretty discouraged after that Z.P. goal

....I WILL BE THERE AGAIN FOR THE NEXT ONE !!!!! And I might add that those balcony section seats are perfect.
