I didn't get a chance to watch the whole game, I had a meeting and my DVR got screwed up because of the bad weather here.

Well, you missed another awful performace by DP....not sure why he still starts for this team. And we'd have won if we still had MAB because we would have scored 4 goals on the PP.

We shoulda won this one... 52 shots, a ton of PP's, we contolled most of the game...they had a short bench, no Crosby, etc. etc. etc.

this one shoulda been a gimme!!!

...a tough pill to swallow that's for sure

Try living about an hour from Pittsburgh...not to mention all the "we're going to win the cup now that we have Hossa" BS that I am going to have to deal with.

I guess it could be worse...I could have to put up with those bonehead Ranger fans.

I have just a few comments on the game. Nolan said that the Kid line played really well. Why didn't he give them more minutes since they were generating chances? Also, is it me or does Rick seem to be dropping too early as of late. I know his style is considered a hybrid of the butterfly and stand up goalie, but a lot of shots seem to be going over his glove and shoulder.

the kids played a bunch I thought...but I do think it's time some of them saw some PP minutes...what harm could it do. Rick has been hot & cold since the All Star break...but so has the defense. We need Witt & Sutton back....

they played under 10 minutes and no PP time... not quite a bunch...

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
I think this was DPs revenge on his teammates...for all the times he stood on his head to win games, or lose...while his teammates played like crap. Now DP can say to them, see, how do you like it now? :P :lol3:    :stoned:

Bryan Berard had his worst game yet an an Islander, dating all the way back to his rookie season. :bfart:

We generated alot of shots but not enough traffic in front to create the chaos that leads to goals. Our PP looked lost. We need to run off another 4 or 5 game streak and what better time than this special weekend coming up. First we win in Atlanta, take this weekends games and everything will be ok again.

I will say that number 71 on Pitt can really skate and move the puck.
I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

It has to do with the mix of players on the PP. If you have three forwards out there that aren't willing to take the punishment in front, then basically your only chance of scoring is from the perimeter. And, as shown last night, an NHL goalie will gobble up those shots. Yeah, the Islanders got a lot of shots on net -- but many of them were floaters that Conklin caught.

Very true shooter. You hit the nail right on the head there but he did make some beauties as well
