ANOTHER STELLAR PERFORMANCE

Anyone who gets shut out by FLA should be forced to go down a "shutes and ladders" type slide in the standings and be guaranteed a top 3 pick... just disgusting how these guys can't get the puck in front and how they rely on flicks from the point for tips and rebounds...but the puck never gets there.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

MMG Unfortunately I grew up during the MM era too. I was a kid in '93 and went to Game 4 & 6 of that series watching our Isles defeat the Penguins but go onto lose in the Semi-Finals. I read alot about the dynasty years and was looking forward to a new era (the New Ice Age), instead that team was not improved upon and then totally dismantled in half of a lockout year in 95. Then came the fishtick era, MM, and MM trades. Youth traded for over the hill, overpriced veterans while MM claimed to have no money. Then the miracle 01-02 a real NHL team with Yashin Osgood, Peca, Aucoin, etc. A goalie with Stanley Cups experience, actual experience and not hype. After the 7 game loss the team was not improved upon and were blown of the playoffs in 03 and 04. SS was a disaster. Then again hope, Nolan/Smith brought in, we sign actual NHL players. Then our real NHL GM Neil Smith is fired because he didnt want to sign DP to a ridiculously long contract and the backup goalie is named GM. I was ecstatic when we acquired Smyth last yr. We make the playoffs only because our backup pulls off a miracle. And now, again we lose a huge chunk of the team on July 1st but somehow are still in the hunt, reinforcements were needed but none arrived, similar to the MM years. Despite all this I have continued to go to games and spend money on the team, in fact I will be there Thurs night, hopefully there will be more Isles fans than Ranger fans. It is def frustrating being an Islander Fan!

Caber, while part of me agrees with you, I think it really comes down to no one wanting our 3rd liners for a push. even with cap we had no way of acquiring a goal scorer. This is bogus, damn, i am just livid. 53 shots no goals. I listened to the game so i cant tell, but can some one tell me we had any decent shots of the 53 that managed to hit anderson.

no

tough loss -alot of broken plays /poor passing which led to those cheesy low pctg shots --but there certainly were a good handful of legit scoring chances snuffed out by good saves by anderson or quick rebound clears by their d-men

now that their backs are once against the wall (4+ points back) watch them clip 4 wins in a row this week .......

Well I was talking about our goalie in this game, on the bright side we have a goalie with over 90% save percentage in a game, thats nice to see.  As we tick down to 3 min it may be the only positive part of this game

Thank God Doobie is in goal :punk: :punk: :punk: :rotflmao:

Yeah...thank god. He's only been tested 5 times the entire game.

Dubie played fine, but let's not make it like it was a Ken Dryden effort out there. IF DP lost this game 1-0 you would both cry about the one goal he let up and how he "needs to steal a game" and :blah: :blah: :blah:

well he should....he's DP the magnificient...King Ricky :punk:

Right now we don't have that kind of luck. If we finish dead last we would lose the lottery :bag:

they lose 1-0, 53 shots on goal...to a freakin backup...first career shutout for him to...good chances! good chances only if we HAD someone who could actually score. this team is absolutely the PITS!

I hope they don't do something stupid, like beat the rangers and get our hopes for nothing.

Let me know if you guys will ever play side B of that record, or is that broken as well?

The problem for this team ALL SEASON hasn't been goaltending. Today's game should have been a prime example of that to you. Instead, the same old same olds decide to wear out side A of their hit single

They are still on this team because nobody wanted them. Nobody wanted them after last season, and nobody wants them now. Hopefully they will find new homes after this season ends! :bag:

Hello oh Islander faithful...
What a pitiful day on the ice when the "pride of the Island" was in the building.

Ok. I'll say this (for Webby!) Awesome Andy seemed like the only one on the ice that actually WANTED to win. He was followed by Bergenheim who did everything he could to feed Miro and Park. Tank also was trying hard, but they just couldn't get their crap together.

Witt doesn't look healthy... at all. Davison, I like him. I like the way he plays. I think if they keep him, and he starts out from camp, he'll actually be pretty damn good.

Not good about Gervais. Not good at all.
