LOL... Ted pushed the right button again which is why, as Steve Summers might say, "Ted here (behind the bench) and us there (in front of the tv). Nice game by the Isles D. When are we going to stop putting Berard on the pp? Really, he's about as good a PP qb as Rex Grossman is the bears qb. They both lead to a ton of scores for the other team. Does Berard have an alergy to just throwing the puck in deep when he's pressured on the blueline? He's just a turnover waiting to happen. Dubie came up big in the shootout and played a good game otherwise. I'd like to see him get more active with that stick of his on passes from behind the net. This is the second game in a row a pass in front should have been deflected away and instead he kept his stick in and the man we leave wide open bangs it home. That was certainly a breakdown on Davidson's part (whose looked very good otherwise) but Dubie needs to not allow the pass to come out from behind without getting a piece of it. Second goal...looked like he was screened. Won't get on him for that. Third goal, terrible rebound control. That is the problem with shorter goalies, they typically struggle with rebound control. He left a bunch of juicy ones in the first period that the D cleared and that shortie he gave up a juicy rebound right onto Callahan's stick. Still, Dubie made some big saves when he had to and I thought he outplayed Lundqvist and all you can really ask of a goalie is to outplay his counterpart at the other end. Hopefully, Tamby will start to see some PP time soon. That was a sick wrister on the shootout. I'd like to see him go to that more often in the high slot than trying to wind up a slapper all the time. I'm glad Bergie's improved play has gotten him the PP time. The kid really looks like he's catching on in the second half. Very pleased with DAvidson's play thus far. Bad play to leave his feet on the first goal, but otherwise, he's been solid thus far. Hope he keeps it and his physical play up. Big two points. Yeah, it would be good if the Rags didn't get one, but we got two. Flyers lost in reg. Boston lost in OT...damn. So now the standings look like this... 6- Boston 77 7- Rags 77 8- Flyers 74 9- Buffalo 73 10- Isles 71 11- Craps 70 By the end of Thurs we have Buff v. WAshington & Philly v. TB and Isles v. Rags. Let's get ready to do it all over again. |

I heard we beat the rags in a shootout, eh? Outstanding. Are we getting any closer to the playoffs? I mean seriously, we seem to be struggling in the standings... |

Just got in from the game and am pumped we are still in this thing. Dubie and the kids were great. Our D played well. That shortie against killed me and was so very frustrating. Meyer impressed me all night long. Witt looked hurt and seem to struggle alot, especially in the third. His guile and hockey smarts carried him and us through. great shots by both Tamby and Bergie. Bergie coming around as his confidence grows. Rangers fans are meatheads. Ok, we all knew that already. |

Right On Time.

Quick Points from the game short and to the point... 1) Bergie is showing why he was drafted in first round! 2) One positive and negative about Davison. Negative, Jagr goes around him like he is a robot..... Positive.... The guy can play and be physical and be a 5th or 6th d-man. 3) Dubie - Have to give the guy credit. Even on Sunday what gets lost is him letting up just one goal. The guy wins some games. 4) Comeau starting to get more ice time and starting to play better again! 5) WHAT A RIP by Tambs. 6) The captains shot in the shootout was HUGEEEE. Also for anyone that feels that Rick DP is a top notch goalie than I don't want to hear about Dubie playing OVER him. The whole "hot" goalie thing is nice, but he went 1-1 the last two games and let up 3 goals tonight and while I LOVED his performance if Rick is healthy OUR FRANCHISE PLAYER (who will be here forerver) in our building starts. The more back-ups play the more they get exposed (Great 4 game run last year no doubt). Also say Dubie plays and wins 1-0 we sit Rick again? |

Thurday night is the kind of game that brings out the best in Ricky. He wants to be known as the best goalie of the three NY/Metro teams, so he gets up for Brodeur and Queen Henrik. Not taking anything away from Dubie, but Ricky is THE MAN! |

Ricky IS the man... when he's ON his game. He's swiss cheese when his head isn't on straight. Basically... he's a young Brodeaur. But Tinaman... Perfect points. I never expected Guerin to get that shoot out goal. I did a lot of screaming during the end of that game. I like Davison too, but you can't expect him to be able to shut down Jagr.... THAT... is Witt's job. And he does it so well! LET THE KIDS PLAY!!! They're having fun and making a name for themselves. |

If she's not available... any possibility he'd be followed by a body-double?

It's about time we got the breaks. It was sweet justice I guess that we were out played early on but we come away with a 1st period lead. I thought the kids played well. Colliton has a ton of energy and looks like he never wants to return to bridgeport. But the one thing I came away from the game was..... QUEEN LUNDQVIST SUCKS!!!!!!! |

It was funny to listen to the Garden losers get on Lundqvist and boo him. He's been in a slump lately and looks like he's fighting the puck. Alot of those saves he made it looked like he was fighting the puck. Did anyone else notice how much of the 5 hole he gives shooters in shootouts? It is almost like he's daring shooters to go for it. He comes well out (or did last night) and gets a deep kneebend and his ankles go wider than Brittany Spears lately. That 5 hole is wide open and Guerin made him pay for it. If players can get a good hard snapper about a foot off the ice...good things can happen. BTW....I really liked the move Comrie tried. Two different fakes and then if he lifted the puck he scored. Completely frozen Lundy who recovered well. Another two points. Bring on the losers again...this time in our house. Taking 4 and giving up only 1 will be sweet!!! Can't ask for much more from this home and home. |
