He didn't cause it, look at the talent that is around him. Don't blame DP, this team has young players with no Superstar. We don't score our D has been banged up and management pulled one from the Bush family "Read my lips no new taxes".I just hope they hold to their word Mr Snow and we hold onto the youth in this ORG. |

STH since Day 1

One stinking shot in the whole third period. Unbelievable. Just sad. No effort, no heart, nothing. The rag fans were exceptionally obnoxious tonight. A thoroughly unpleasant experience at the game. |

It should because Guerin cost 7 mill less a season. |

Yashin had 4 years left 26.45, bill makes 4.5 mill. I think we had to pay 2/3 at 2 mill a year for 8 years. It's close 4.5 +2 mill. |

I really don't blame Dubie at all for tonight's game. He was pretty much helpless on those goals...but that is what DP gets to play behind ALOT this season. Yes, the defense has been stronger for a stretch the last 8 games or so (not tonight) but how many times have we seen effort like tonight? Shannahan's breakway with no one in the zip code. Avery should have had a hat trick tonight, but he sucks and couldn't score on the open net. Fortunately for him, the Isles d was so bad he got two more chances at wide open nets from the slot. Inability to move bodies from in front. Inability to stop the Raggies cycle tonight Davidson looked BAD tonight. No other way to put it. Berard has played himself out of the NHL...no way anyone signs him next year. With all of that said, look at the offense. We scored 3 goals on the Queen last game by really doing nothing more than driving hard to the net. Who made a habit of driving hard to the net tonight? It easily could have been 4-0 at the end of one and I wouldn't have blamed Dubie on a single one. Yet, Rick gets to play behind that alot. Now perhaps the DP haters will have a bit of perspective. However, I doubt it because what is sad to me is many of the DP haters WANT Rick to fail and on the few games he has an off night, they take glee in it, which to me is a completely screwed up way of thinking. Why take glee and basically root for your player to fail? Dont understand that. Shake it off Dubie. I have a feeling that, while I'm not giving up on the season until we are dead mathmatically, you will get a few more starts if we see more efforts in front of you or DP like we did tonight. |

I4C I agree BUT DP should be better than Wade and he did come off of two games (With the same sh!t D) and allow just 4 total goals and win a shootout game. A Few Points: 1) Dubie always talks about the first shot, more than any other goalie I have ever listened to, he also lets them in so much. His fault? Heck no, but it sucks when the first or second shot goes in. 2) Bryan Berard is now my most hated Islander. Period. 3) Third period looked like it was a game in August for them... that is right August. 4) Nights like this with Comrie is why him being even a top 2 center kills me. He just isn't that. |

Berard has played himself out of the NHL...no way anyone signs him next year. I was opposed to his coming here from the very start. The guy just flat out sucks defensively and always has. The little offense you get from him doesn't offset it. |

With Campoli, Gervais & Sutton out, do you think we'd even see him? |
| If you see someone down on the ground, you lend them a hand. Unless they're a Rangers fan, then you kick them in the face. | |

And DP is better than Wade. That's not the point. As for the last two games, no offense but Dubie didn't not have many tough saves to make against Florida. Despite losing the game 1-0, he was not called upon to make a ton of tough saves in that game. I think we outshot FLA by 20, but the quality scoring chances for Florida you could count on one hand. As for the game at MSG, Dubie left a ton of rebounds and was fortunate enough to have the d clear most of them. That third goal...the shortie...he gave up a huge rebound instead of controlling the shot to the corner of the rink. and that was when the Raggies weren't missing the net with shots, which they did a ton of in that game. I don't dislike Dubie at all. I think he's good for what he is...a backup who could start 10-25 games a season. However, his play this week underlies something about DP. The people who expect DP to "constantly steal games" because of his contract or his number 1 status, well, he does that as often as other top goalies. It is just that in our case, because we can't score any goal given up gets magnified. Look at Luongo...for years was an excellent goalie in FLA and never made the playoffs. One year in Vancouver and he's in the playoffs. Did he suddenly get that much better? No. The supporting cast did. Whether it is Dubie, DP, Dryden or Smith in net, fans can't expect them to play like they have an S on their chest every night if the talent around them lacks talent. jmo but I think the glee some take in basking in every magnified mistake by DP or even Dubie borders on passive aggressive behavior and is annoying. Again...jmo. I'm not going to clobber Nolan for playing Dubie. I don't know that he had chances on those goals. However I do find it funny that the same people who would be jumping up and down in glee if DP let up those goals are strangely silent now that it is Dubie.

I remember you, Webby and I were all on the same page concerning Berard during camp. I forget who else was, but there was definitely voices of disagreement at that time. I doubt now ANY Isles fan would want him back next year. |

eh not really I just hate him so much. He's an arrogant whore and I wish someone would knock him on his fat ass |
| After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for faggots" | |

question... We somehow make the playoffs.... Then what? This obviously is not a Stanley cup team. The team is inconsistent and the D is like Swiss cheese. We got screwed with injurys this year. I say finish the season and rest for 08/09. As much as I'd love the playoffs it doesn't look like well make it past round 1 |

Every post game he says he loves how the kids play... Yet he never plays them. His actions contradict what he says WTF Teddy. The time for playing favorites its over. Bottom line- you gotta play the people who get the job done! |
