Comeau was great tonight.

Reminds me of a faster Hunter with an awesome wrist shot.

Glad to see Comeau on the PP. I've been blue in the face waiting, and now it's starting to pay off.

For those of you who wanted to tear it down and rebuild, last night was a glimpse of what it'd be like. Exciting, but alas no points again.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Yes, and we also see the growing pains that come along with having guys,
who in the minors may have been on the PP, but now in the NHL,
with less time to use their judgment, get to learn and mature.

Tambellini had some really good shifts but I also noticed him blindly shooting the puck towards the net from the corner when a better option would have been holding onto it and waiting for help or someone in front of the net.

Again, learning.

These last few games and added icetime should make these guys VERY hungry for camp next year
and I hope they win spots and believe they will.
Tambellini is much stronger on the puck now and a little more confident than earlier this year
and we know how Comeau's been a monster in that dept. since the callup.

To me, the best sign from last night was my gut feeling. I NEVER ever want my team to lose, never EVER feel good about losing. But, for the first time I found myself looking at the bright side at that final buzzer. Reality. We are THAT much closer to a very good lottery shot at #1 pick overall.

And it made me feel better about the Bridgeport boys that we are sure to see in the line up next season.

Note to Garth: Next season... Flu Shots & Calcium suplements for everyone!
:D

but maybe for the kids, some Flintstone chewables will do just fine.

My understanding was that the whole team got flu shots this year.

Supposedly, you can't get the flu from the shot, but everyone I know personally (family, friends, co-workers)who did get the shot, actually got the flu, while those of us who didn't get the shot, never got the flu. Makes we wonder about the shot.
Freaky coincidence? I'm not too sure.

Ciao for now, Mary :)

There was a lot of controversy this year about the shot. It didn't contain all the strains that ended up hitting, so it was less than effective. But what it did do was limit the severity and duration if you did indeed contract one.

My husband got the shot through the fire dept., and never got the flu. I didn't... and did end up with something that I thought I was going to die from. May have been a flu... may not. But it's always good to err on the side of precaution.

There is no single virus that causes the flu, there is no one flu vaccine that protects against all of them. A flu vaccine is designed to confer immunity against the strains of flu that are expected to be most common and most serious. The vaccine is a sort of one-size-fits-all solution, even though there are more types of flu than covered by the vaccine and the flu types vary according to region. It takes time to produce vaccines, so a new vaccine can't be instantly produced when a new type of flu starts to cause problems.

I had a flu shot this year and only got a head cold that lasted 2 days. Meanwhile some in my family did get the flu. And the head cold I got which I thought was the flu surprised me by lasting only the 2 days. I felt the flu shot most definitely helped me this year.

I think someone mentioned YMCA in this thread -- maybe that kicked Google Ads into serving us up the "Man of the Year" banner.

Too funny.

I guess any mention of the kid line playing like the hot young studs that they are would -- oops
