Nolan - (paraphrased) I love how Bergenheim plays -- lot of enthusiasm and spunk. Spunk? Quick - who said it: I HATE spunk!

No, not really. I've already warned my family. Just because the Islanders season is over, doesn't mean mine is. I'm a child of the NHL, and I'll watch them all. I may curse a few of them, but I'll watch.... and write.

You mean the same guy who was calling Kyle Ock-poso all night, though they did say he looked to be the real deal (paraphrasing). Im not really liking those Pens at all, especially Ruutu, after tonights game. God forbid you touch Crosby or Malkin. Bergie looked great and seems to be coming into his own. Now he just needs to start burying those chances. Oh, and does anyone know if Tambellini played tonight. I could swear I didnt notice him once. |

10:27 worth of ice time says a lot and I don't think he saw much time in the 3rd. Tamby is either in the minors to start or traded....Nolan just doesn't seem to like him...now maybe Snow pushes Tamby on him but that won't be good either. |

I disagree. That was a bs call on Park...in fact, there were several bs calls in that game. Rutuu should have got a diving penalty. Did Johnson stick out his leg> Yep, but Rutuu left his feet before contact...I thought he had a cape on the way he flew through the air on that. Then, Rutuu fakes dropping his gloves and the refs only "talk to him" about it when it is obvious he's trying to goad Johnson into another 2 minutes. Laroque definitely set a pick on that first goal. In fact, the Pitt announcers even said so. If they are going to call ticky little stick fouls like the trip on Park, then they have to call obvious interferences 5' from the net. |
I miss these and want more of them ![]()

Dead on. That comment about Davidson is a joke. I never heard him say that about the Penguin player recently traded who always leaves his feet to hit guys like Koivu coming from around the goal....or was it Ryan Malone. I forget which player it was, but he'd launch himself at players heads. Errey talks crap just to hear himself talk. They need to send him back to the gap between the two benches to he can get hit with a few more pucks. |

Does he have reasons to like him? I mean it is in like Little Big League when the kid gets excited one of his players had a seeing eye base hit. I mean we get excited to see Tambs win one battle, or check someone. I mean this guy is supposed to score and have SERIOUS wheels. The guy is going to be 24 in a month and has played enough games to see things. This guy is the most over-rated guy I have seen in a decade. Is the AHL that bad that he can score so often? Nice to see Comrie now be hurt, we can hear all off-season "A healthy Comrie" will produce 70 points plus. Forget that. The guy won't reach 60 points. Putrid. Comeau, Bergie really loving them. Radek is real good too, when he has one of the top guys, I like that duo. |

Comeau is better than Tamby. That's just a fact. And Okposo will be better than both. This team will have a whole new look next season, but it's going to be pretty damn exciting to see what it is. |

Just some thoughts after reading all the comments. Tambellini is just invisible out there. He seems to play on the perimeter of the action instead of being in the action. I don't see him staying with the Isles unless he shows some improvement. Bergie, Comeau, and Okposo are involved in the action and make things happen and Tambellini stands and watches, so it seems like it to me. As for Rutuu, he pulls that crap on the ice because he knows LaRoque has his back. I don't know who is worse, Avery or Rutuu out on the ice. It amazes me when watching a Pens game, which I do often since I live close to Pittsburgh, how Errey and Steigerwald seem so suprised when other teams go after Rutuu. Errey and Steigerwald are both homers. Sid can do no wrong and no one can touch him. They just love it when he draws a penalty. Malkin can dive all over the ice and they would say that he was mugged. I have to listen to those boneheads all year long. They kept making reference to Davison's hip check on Hossa and comparing it to Kasper when he played for the Isles, but it was ok when Kasper did it playing for the Pens. Tell Hossa to skate with his head up.As for Dubie, he seems like an honest guy who would take a fair increase in salary to remain a back up. Heck, his numbers are pretty good, just look at his Save% and GAA. I don't see him as a number one goalie in this league. |
