Webb at least knew how to throw a punch.

Botta has a critical post about today's post game press conference. I really don't see what the big deal is with dressing DP. Newsday makes a big deal and Botta's post made a big deal. Newsday likes to smear the Isles any chance they get, so I don't put much stock into that, but what would have been the use of putting DP into a game that the Isles are losing 5-0? What would he do for a team that wasn't doing anything right?

The problem is dressing him when he's clearly not ready to play. If he was, he would have been in today.

Right On Time.
^ I must say I agree.

Back-ups are back-ups because they don't have the talent to play or because the starter needs a rest. Rick is healthy but not starting? Rick is not fully healthy but fine to back-up? JUST NOT RIGHT. Can't be both.

Closers don't warm-up in the bull-pen then have a 5-4 game in the ninth and not pitch. If they do they are HURT and then they go on the DL.

If we let up 12 goals today (Which was possible) would MacDonald come out? If Joey got hurt, Rick would go in and be fine? (Yes)........... Well if yes than why the f doesn't he play in the first place?

Good morning! I can't believe I just read this, because I JUST posted on his blog the SAME THING!!! What would putting Ricky in net have done for the team? Rick wouldn't have scored the goals they needed.

Craving: A "reporters" job IS to be critical and explore negative points and present them for discussion. That is WHY I'll never be a "reporter." But this is Greg's job and always has been with whatever team or sport he was covering. Suddenly... it's Botta's too.

I took my little guy to this game.
First off, Westfall was the only one I caught a glimpse off at Gate 1 with his MacDonald jersey, but he was leaving as no one showed up and wisely so.

Form warmups to pregame/anthem skate, The Sabres cleary had jump in their skates.
Our guys looked to be going through the motions.

Guerin, Weight and Sim line looked like they came to play.
Andy Hilbert had a very good game and so did Richard Park who should have had more icetime but didn't.

Mike Comrie is a lazy bastid.

Once again, Bendan Witt and his stop cold skating to block a shot habits annoyed me.
Nielsen and Tambellini had a couple of good shifts but once the going got tough, they played a fragile wait-and-see-what-the-opposition does game. Kyle Okposo was invisible.

Streit was very indecisive and poor Joey Mac got hung out to dry.
Mike Comrie is a lazy bastid.

We were out hit I'm sure. We were definitely out hustled and if we face moe teams that bring their A game we are going to most certainly assure ourselves of the 1st over pick or at least the lottery chances of doing so.
Did I mention Mike Comrie is a lazy bastid?

My son said to me, hey, we got our butts handed to us on the score board but our guys beat them up. yeah well, you get no points for punching guys.

oh, and that idiotic goal song disappeared eh? When Hunter scored they blew the foghorn with a fe hey hey hey's. No corny song.

Thank god for breakaway parking.

nothing positive at all to say about yesterday.

Btw: Loudville has got to go. I refuse to be baited into a fight or see fellow Islander fans be harassed by underage kids looking to cause problems...

I was lucky enough to be watching the video of yesterdays game
with Scott Gordon ~ 14 hours

And all in all we both game away with the impression the Isles played pretty good. :selfhit:

It's clear DP isn't ready to play. It's clear it's moronic to dress an injured goalie. It won't stop the outcome of yesterday's debacle. But at least Joey M would have been given a break after two periods.

What you see is another example of ineptness from management, thinking only that gimmicks and gizmos and pretending their top player isn't hurt but "day to day."

And, unlike last year, there were chunks of empty seats on kids day. What will it look like on October 23rd? Bleak.

Welcome to Islanderland.

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
everything was going right for joey mac, until he decided to go behind the net and...play the puck. Then tried to make a pass around the boards, which inturn, went to buffalo, were they eventually scored from behind the net. Guess he was taking lessons from Ricky. should've learned, that never works.

Ricky coming into the game would not have helped the Islanders at that point...he can't score.

Ricky no doubt will be in net to start the florida road trip...

damn, only played three games. there really isn't anything to get excited about. so they lost, big deal, not the end of the world. being fans of the team should know that already.

better days ahead...
