Brotha, I heard the following lyric clearly:

'Stop, Collaborate, and Listen.'

Besides, I know Freddy Mercury when I hear him, otherwise they'd take away my gay card. :yea:

Lousy 3rd period, but a W is a W and we'll take the 2 points. Too bad because we outhustled TB for the first 40, only to let them back into it in the final 20.

Trent Hunter looks like he understands the net is 6 x 4 again. Nice for him.

Joey got caught reaching for that last one because he overplayed the initial shot, but he had a strong game.

Way to get the W boys. Hopefully we can be a bit tighter with 3rd period leads in the future.???
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

1 for 9 on the PP, including a 5-on-3 for extended time. It's time to remove Guerin off the PP. He rarely hits the net and he spends his time floating. Kyle O deserves a shot playing the slot area, his shot is terrific and he moves well. Unless the coach is trying to save his job already.

I missed the 1st period but the 2nd looked great. The third, we kinda stopped skating for a bit. The only thing I was really surprised at was the shots on the PP. We need to put more on net and get Guerin out of teh PP. Put in KO or Park. I do like Streit and Weight on the PP... and Weigts performance is growing on me. 1 for 9 is nuts tho. Hunter is another thats growing on me, I hope he gets over 25 this year.
After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for faggots"

I really appreciated seeing our coach actually showing some emotion last night. It sends a message to all that we're not just rebuilding and that wins and accountability are at the forefront.

KIDS baby! KIDS!

Finally.

Great to see this. I feel so happy for Tambellini and my whipping boy Nielsen.
They were a huge part of that win yesterday and lets not forget Okposo who was invisible vs the Sabres.

Loved how Witt stepped up to throw a hit on St. Louis just outside the blue line.
MORE PLEASE!!!
However on defense, ONCE again he tries to play goalie and screens Joey Mac
and they score on us when he should have picked up the guy in front and tried to tie up his stick or get body position.

Trent Hunter! Too many of our fans bad mouth him and whine about his lack of skating.
Too many people whined about Phil Esposito's lack of foot speed back when he broke into the NHL with the Blackhawks. But hockey smarts, positioning and perserverance helped him move on and score 50+ goals something like 6-7 times and one year scoring 76.

Hunter is no Espo and I doubt many will reach those numbers again, but you cannot cast someone off because of their skating. Tambellini skates well and how many NHL goals does he have?

:P

Great win for the youngsters and kudo's to Gordon.
great to see him smile. His hard work paid off.

My problem isn't with Hunter's skating. He's always been a threat to lose a race to a zamboni. He was when we got him. To expect a player in his mid 20's to suddenly improve their skating isn't exactly a realistic goal. By their mid 20's, they are what they are.

My problem with Hunter was last year. He settled to too many perimeter shots and showed that, other than the toe drag snap shot, his shot wasn't very accurate. Maybe Hilbert rubbed off on him, but in Hunter's first two seasons, he was a threat from everywhere. He'd shoot from the perimeter or cut down the slot and get shots or plant himself in front for screened tips and rebounds. Last year, he didn't do that and when he settled for perimeter shots, he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.

I'm the one who's been saying Trent has 30 goal potential and his lack of production last year was nothing but pathetic. I'm glad to see him get off to a good start this year. Hopefully, it will be production for a full 80+ games rather than the 41 games we've seen in previous seasons.

As for Tamby, man...when will he atleast hit someone with his purse? If he ain't collecting points, he aint doing much.

The whole team was forced to adjust their approach thanks to the injuries last year, still no excuse.
But across the board, offensively they all had a bad year.

I doubt Hilbert rubbed off on Hunter. I think they're both hetero's.

He dropped a big "F" bomb when Weight got his penalty too and he wasn't directing it at the official.
As much as liked Nolan, he was way too much of a "players" coach for my liking.

"Accountability" is the word of the year.

I'm gonna throw Hunter's name in the ring for the Penthouse...he's had a great few games, and is at a goal-a-game pace.
